I love my pair of samba originals, but the samba classic was very disappointing. They have a very thin, almost plasticky tongue that does not provide good support, and rides too high up on the ankle. Whereas my samba originals have a nicely padded tongue that is very cushiony and feels very nice. I wore these for 1 minute and immediately decided to return them.

They changed the width -
I've been wearing Sambas for about 15 years now, but I'm afraid I can't anymore. They significantly narrowed the width since the previous pair I bought (May 2007). At first I thought it was a fluke so I returned the first pair and had them exchanged. Sadly, the new pair was just as narrow as the ones I had just returned. I even sized up to an 11, but the shoe was just longer, not wider. They literally hurt too much to wear, and I don't even have wide feet. The Samba was my favorite shoe ever. RIP.

Did adidas change the Samba?
I've been buying these shoes for years and have always been very happy. This used to be a 5-star shoe. However, my latest pair seems narrower and far less comfortable. At first, I thought it was just a matter of breaking them in, but I've owned them for months and they're still much tighter (and much less comfortable) than my old Sambas.
Adidas, if you changed the Sambas to make them narrower, please change them back!

Way too big, no support. On Adidas website they refer to those sneakers as indoor soccer, which was not mentioned here. They are the Classic Samba. OG Samba is better and not as big/wide.

Now made of plastic. Worn for decades as everyday. Now stiff, hot, and ugly. Tongue now rubs shin. OG version flatter, less supportive, not the same shoe.

I love them but the tongue is way too long and I'm afraid it will rub a blister on the front of my leg. I've waited so long for them to come back in stock and was so excited. Is it possible for me to cut the tongue, or will it unravel? My other Sambas I purchased recently do not have that long tongue and I love them so much.

I had to exchange them your size recommendation was off. I have not recieved the exchanged pair it's been over 10 days and I returned them the next day. I have never had an exchange take this long on my other online shops

These shoes have a HUGE tongue, so it was very uncomfortable to wear these with it rubbing against my skin, it rose so high. If you like these colors, they have this exact pair without the obnoxious tounge, wish I had ordered those, they are the "og" sambas. Just make sure you see the inside flap.
