I've had two pair of the Edgars, black & brown, for over a decade now - resoled them about 3 times each, you CAN'T wear this shoe out! Get in a wide size if you need arch supports, and will be extremely comfortable. I wear these shoes alternating 6 days out of the week (banker and church goer) so I know what I'm talking about.

First time I've ever written an on-line review, but this shoe deserves it. I've worn them every day to work and social events for about 8 years and never been disappointed. Agree that when brand new they slide on carpet - rough it up on concrete for a few minutes and you should be fine. They break in quickly, shine up well. I wear out the sole after about 6-7 months; have resoled a few pair without a problem, but prefer the look/feel of new. Have tried other brands - don't match up for price/quality/fit. My advice is to try this shoe - you will not be disappointed.

I keep buying this shoe because it is so comfortable and long wearing. I use it primarily for dancing. The support in the shoe comforts my feet and prevents me from getting blisters. This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

The shoe fits nicely using a horn and is comfortably firm against the foot. The shoe leather bottom has a tendency to slide on carpet, however, manageable. Shines nicely. Best use is for formal occasions, interviews, and dates. In my opinion, not an all day shoe such a work environment.

A good basic, leather dress shoe with leather soles - and at a good price. Extra wide sizing was perfect for me. I ordered a second pair as a back up. I wish they had it in other colors.

I love these shoes. This is my second time buying them. The only reason I have deducted one star is that they are a slightly too narrow, and it takes a few days of wearing them to stop making my pinkey toe hurt.

Solid pair of shoes... this is my third pair. I really liked the first pair I had, the second however had a squeaky sole that even the cobbler couldn't fix. This pair seems to be working out well so far.

Really nice shoe but I need an A width and the B was a bit too wide for me. I realize the market for men's A width is probably small but I've worn Florsheim shoes in the past but now I can't find any A width shoes. I'll keep checking back with you and hope you can carry this shoe in A width soon..

Not quite as comfortable as the Corbetta Cap Toe Oxford pair that I also purchased but it is an excellent fit. The finish has a dull matte type look to it which I kind of like and wear them to the office with casual pants

Its a good leather sole shoe that generally hard to find especially at this price. A little disappointed at the graininess off this last pair but to their credit the pictures reflect that. My first pair was much better but they squeaked.

I'm quite happy with these shoes as a step up from the regular once-a-year torture devices I was used to. Having mediocre shoes didn't matter to me until now, since I recently started teaching and need a few pairs to wear multiple times a week while staying on my feet. I've yet to find out how they break in or how they feel over long hours of standing/walking. From wearing them around the house for a night, I'm very pleased. The leather easily tops my other pair (Cole Haan Jefferson) and simply is of greater quality. You can't beat the classic style, either. I admit they are snug compared to all of the other 9.5s I have, but that's actually what I needed. One downside was that one of the shoes had a loose upper fabric lining under the cap of the toe. The other shoe was fine. These doesn't affect the fit or feel, but is a bit disconcerting for a brand new purchase. Expect a slightly matte finish. I rather like it.
