A nice looking, standard black Mary Jane that seems to made well. I usually wear an 8 1/2 W but ordered a 9W because of other reviews. The length was OK, but it wasn't wide enough and bulged at the sides, feeling snug. Plus, the strap was only long enough to overlap the receiving velcro by about 3/4 of an inch, leaving lots of exposed velcro to collect unsightly things. Overall, I didn't find it to be as heavenly comfortable as other people. the sole and footbed had no cushioning, so it was very hard on my plantar fasciitis, even when I slipped in my own footbeds to try them out. Not the answer to my problem feet.

These didn't work for me. I have wide feet that get even wider in warm weather and even the supposed extra wide were too tight.

Cute shoe but heel is abnormally wide therefore loose - Super cute shoe. Based on past experience with Propet, I ordered one width narrower than other brands but this style seemed narrower than other Propet styles so advise ordering correct width. Unfortunately the heel is very wide and sort of round rather than angled. My foot slid up and down at the heel. Too loose for an insert to help. The shoe is being returned. Would be a great shoe for someone with a wide heel who has trouble with closed heel shoes not fitting at the heel.

Great Look, Poor Fit - Looked exactly the way I wanted it to. Was too wide and too short for size. Plus the arch of the foot was in the wrong place (too far toward the front of the shoe) which was really uncomfortable. The shoe was nicely padded however, and had a lot of side support for those of us who pronate. Nice features but wrong for my foot.

I do NOT understand how this shoe gets such good reviews. I have a lot of foot problems, but still. It is very clunky, doesn't really have any substantive support, and the soles are also VERY slippery on wood floors! I almost slipped and fell when I tried them on around the house. There doesn't seem to be a lot of support at the ball of the foot area in particular (which is what I need). Back they go. Thank you Zappos for your great return policy.

They fit ok. I need more support just for walking and standing. I am not unstable on my feet, but I do need to know that shoes are not an issue. Also while trying them on, sitting on the side of the bed with carpet under my feet, the shoes slid like they were on ice. There is no traction. I am returning them. I also bought a pair of new balance which I will be keeping.

Shoe looked very nice on the foot, but sadly had to return. I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis and heel pain for months and this shoe was just too hard in the heel and footbed in general. VERY firm shoe! It did accomodate orthotics, but just too doggone firm for helping my current foot problem.

The footbed of the shoe is not 2E. There is a lot of material to accommodate the foot, but the foot does not lie flat in the shoe. Extra material across the upper part of the shoe does not address the need for a wider foot bed. Very disappointed in the Propet brand the last 5 years. Something changed in their products and kit is not a positive change.

I bought a pair of these shoes for myself 3 years ago and have absolutely loved them. They were very comfortable as walking shoes, even with orthotics. However, I bought a new pair this week from Amazon. I was shocked at what came. I thought they were imitations. The insole was very thin and no support. The leather cushioned insole and arch have been replaced with no arch and very thin foam type insole. When I pulled it out I found staples in the shoe in and across the ball and toe base of the shoe. The peron who complained about the shoes not being comfortable, was right. I decided to buy from Zappos, thinking they would have the real shoe. However when I read the review, I realized these are the same shoes now. All of the rave reviews of these shoes are old reviews and no longer are accurate. I can not purchase these, they are so bad. Buyer beware! This is not against Zappo, who I love doing business with. It is Propet.

I have flat feet. I am pre-diabetic. A few months ago I fractured a bone in my right foot. For all of those reasons I really needed comfortable and supportive shoes, with Velcro closures, that would take me through the last days of my foot injury and still be good shoes after I healed. I have purchased and liked the Orthaheel Walkers in the past, but I could not find any with the Velcro closures or dressier styles. I was encouraged by the reviews for this brand and ordered these mary janes, as well as their Walker shoes. Unfortunately both pairs of shoes turned out to not only fail at providing the support they claimed, they actually made my feet hurt more, even with my orthotic inserts. Both feet hurt, not just the injured one. My injury is now healed, and the shoes still hurt my feet. These shoes look good online, but there is no support of any kind in the construction, which is clearly visible once you inspect one in hand. I could see it. But I still doubted myself and wore them anyway, thinking that I just needed to break them in or wait until my foot healed fully. I was wrong. I do not understand how this brand could have so many positive reviews. I would have done better going to Wal Mart and buying a cheap pair of sneakers. If I could have given these a zero (or better yet, a negative number) for comfort, I would have.

Lasted two years of everday use. I still had to use an insert, but overall the shoe is very comfortable.

My daughter needed a shoe that provided support for her flat feet. These shoes are beautiful, and my daughter loves them. The fit and look on her feet are great. She put them on right away to wear.

Propet Mary Jane Walker is outstanding shoe! Material polishes up to look like new. I have worn this style for many years and it lasts and lasts! Always looks like new. I add my custom orthotics for a perfect fit. Toe box is deep enough for the orthotics and thick socks with cushioned sole. They look like" go to meeting "shoes but they are too comfortable to limit use.

I like these shoes very much. I hope that they continue to be carried by Zappos. They changed the insole a few years ago, I preferred the older insole. It provided better arch support than the current one that comes with the shoes.

This is the third pair of these shoes I have bought. They are comfortable and hold up well. I get many compliments on the style. I will continue buying these.

My mother has very swollen feet. All the time. The top of her feet are very large & these shoes fit wonderfully. The strap was long enough to go over her foot and close with the velcro. We ordered size9 4E based on the measurement guide on this site and they were the right size. She was also very happy with the style and I was happy with the quality.

Too large but is a very nice shoe. I have it in a different size previously.

The perfect shoe. Easy fit. Able to adjust a good length strap. I went down a half size and the fit is great. Great stability.

Best shoes I've ever owned. I had a pair just like this and they lasted me 18 years! I kid you not! No breaking in these shoes. Comfort right away; as soon as you put them on.

I purchased these for my mother in law who has edema. She wears a 9 in a medium width. I thought they were perfect but she thought the leather was too stiff. Keep in mind, my mother in law is 89; Scottish and stubborn. She continues to wear shoes that are so old and worn, they’re about to fall apart. I think if she had just worn them for a few days to break them in, she might have fell in love with them. I’m venting a little in this review because I have too much respect for my mother in law to vent to her. The shoes are of good quality for the price point.

I love the style of this shoe, but it does not accommodate my orthotics and slips on the heel.

Great little shoe. Only problem was that it was slightly loose on my feet; otherwise I would have kept.

I originally ordered a half size larger since so many shoes run small, but this was true to size, so sent them back and got my regular size (thank you, Zappos!) These really are nice...look nice, are comfortable, very helpful for my foot problems...and they were on sale! Can't beat any of that!

This is my 6th or 7th pair of the Mary Jane Walker. I wear a uniform at work and these shoes are the best. The are comfortable and the Velcro strap is perfect for my feet that have slightly different widths. The insides of my shoes wear out before the soles. I would love for Zappos or Propet to offer a way to recycle shoe soles for this MJ Walker and other styles, too.
