The middle straps have a seat belt style clip which for some reason is hard for me to put on with 1 hand. I am worried it will break quickly after normal use. The front toe strap has already broken after wearing for a short while. The loop is glued together and became unglued. It's not unfixable, I can glue it back, but I never wanted to be a shoesmith. My 4th and 5th outer toes feel cramped under the strap. It feels like they are in normal shoes. I got 3 huge blisters while hiking, but I should have broken them in more first.

I did not find it as comfortable to wear after about an hour of walking. It feels great for the first 30 minutes and then it begin to feel stiff.

Mephisto builds great footwear. The Mephisto Shark is a great sandal.

My husband has been searching for some time for a comfortable pair of sandals, with great arch support, to replace a pair of well loved Birkenstocks. We tried some of the new Birkenstock styles that met his criteria, but with the buckles on the outside of his feet, he had a very difficult time getting them on and off. The Mephisto Shark's straps are secured by velcro and a snap closure, and are easy for him to fasten and unfasten. He is very particular about arch support, and he is very happy with the support these provide! These are pricey shoes, but well worth the investment for the many years he will enjoy wearing them!

Mephisto Shark sandals are the most comfortable sandals ever worn! They appear study and well made too. They are pricey but really appear to be worth the cost.

My husband is diabetic with numerous foot issues like bunions, and hammer toe. These sandals have changed his life! He can now walk without pain, walk all day long without issues, never has to take a break to sit down, etc. I cannot tell you how these sandals are worth every penny! We are not wealthy people, and we almost did not buy these because of the price, but we are so happy that we purchased. Buy these for yourself, your husband, or whomever..... you DESERVE it!

Wow! I do not think any shoes is worth this kind of money but these come the closest of any shoe I have tried. I have a high arch and usually wear arch supports. It is hard to so with sandals. I do not have to ware supports with these sharks. The most comfortable shoe I have worn.

Mephisto's Shark - All I asked for. I do wish they would change the inner sole to a dark color. The green gets looking pretty ratty looking long before the sandals wears out.

Perfect everyday use - I was never that much of a sandal person until a friend let me try his Mephisto Sharks and they were so comfortable. I just had to get a pair of my own. Now I pretty much where them all of the time outside of work. To the beach, to the stores, wherever. They are Perfect! I definitely recommend and certainly worth the money for this kind of comfort.

Most comfortable sandal - Have had a pair of these for 3 years and had them resoled once. The tops are beginning to wear and am thinking of another pair.

These are top quality sandals, good leather and materials, stylish and comfortable. The reason why I give them four stars instead of five is because while you can adjust the fit at the toe and the mid part of your foot they have no adjustment for the heel. This matters when you want the sandal to fit tight in some situations.

The quality and comfort seem to be top of the line, as well they should be for the price. Just note that the heel has no adjustment strap, which I feel would custmize the fit a little better.

Not quite 5 stars - I have had a pair for 3 years now and they seem to run a bit large and the air pocket squeaks as it has ruptured. I will have to send back for repair. Took a while to break in, but now feel almost as comfortable as my Merrells which are fantastic and much less, but there is that Mephisto look that is hard to beat.

Extremely limited ability to adjust strap over the top of the foot. Left foot was OK because of ankle enlargement from ankle surgery. Right foot was loose and couldn't take up enough slack to get a snug fit. With time things will stretch and only get worse. Loose fit will cause blisters and other issues.

nice looking shoe with really great leather. my issue besides lack of arch support is these sandals are only minimally adjustable. I was really surprised that the rear strap is not adjustable. they are however super comfortable just order a size down.

The sandals are awesome. The fit is spot on. They are extremely comfortable. best sandals I have ever owned.

This is my second pair of Sharks and I love them. They are comfortable and supportive. I am an 84 year old man who had plantar fasciitis issues some years ago - I have no problems at all wearing my Mephistos Sharks.

Absolutely top notch materials, fit, craftsmanship, and comfort. Living with chronic pain and neuropathy is very difficult and these sandals have the correct amount of support and comfort - and non binding clipped closure - they are wonderful I’ve had 2 pairs in 14 years.

I have had a pair of Mephisto Sharks for 20 years. Yes, the same pair. They've been sent back to Mephisto ONCE for re-work and still stand up as a workhorse. The value for the investment can't be beat!
