I bought these because I absolutely love the Mephisto low boots I bought last year. These sandals are beautiful and SO comfortable on your foot! I loved the luxurious natural leather color - so attractive on your foot. Unfortunately, I have horrible bunions on both feet and the straps, even though they are wide, and cover most of the inside of my foot at the toe joint, rub the top of the bunion on my right foot to the point where they almost hurt. I know they will stretch with time, like my boots, but I am worried that I wouldn't wear them enough to get them comfortable, and they would sit in the closet. I really wish they came in a Wide! Sadly, I am returning them.

I have had this shoe in black for at least 10 years - resoled once, love it. So happy to have a snazzy version! The metallic material does not give as much as the black, so folks might want to go up a half size.

So I ordered these through Zappos 13 (!) years ago - first time ever mail order shoes - and loved them all this time. Great comfort, fit, look and durability. But finally, starting to wear on the heels and just looking tired. I couldn't bear to part with them until...I couldn't believe the exact same shoe was still made and Zappos carried them! Just as great as ever. Thanks, Mephisto and Zappos!

I have a long foot and narrow heel. This shoe is remarkably comfortable, and fits to perfection. This is my second pair. The first pair I finally put to rest after many years, including many miles walking all over during world travels. It's a stable, supportive well made sandal that will last for years.

This is my third pair of this style shoe, they are fabulous walking shoes and long wearing. Cushioned support and just the right straps for security.

Never worn Mephistos before, and they are a pricey choice. This sandal is very comfortable on my picky feet, giving nice coverage and support. Definitely not a dressy sandal, but should work with a multitude of warm weather outfits. Love that there is no elastic to wear out (a problem with many sandals I have purchased). If they weren't so expensive, I would purchase another pair in a different color...they are so comfortable! They fill a gap between athletic and dressier sandals. I hardly think of purchasing shoes anywhere but Zappos...what a selection right at my doorstep!

Mephisto shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have every worn, and this is one of my favorite styles. I own four of this style in black and was thrilled to find the silver color on Zappos. They are quite pretty, and I will enjoy pairing them with a silver Italian handbag I own. Mephistos are always comfortable from the first wearing, and are the only shoes I don't kick off as soon as I arrive home. Thanks Zappos for the fast service as always.

I love the shoes but they were too small. I had seen this in other comments but I have about 5 from this brand and they all fit perfectly. I would like to try the next larger size. I want to exchange.

I love these shoes! I have planter fasciitis and these shoes are great. I can walk all day. Plus they look good and aren't clunky. I wear these and my FitFlops.

In 1998 I purchased two pairs of the Mephisto Altinas (black and brown) to wear on our trip to Thailand. From the miles walked then to the many miles since, I still wear both pairs! Because they do show their age a bit, I reluctantly decided to hunt for another sandal that was as comfortable and long-lasting. Voila!! I was thrilled to find that they still make the same sandals. Now that I have the black replacements, I will soon order another pair of brown. They are by far the most comfortable ever.

These are great shoes. They required no break-in, and have a lot of support. The slight heel makes them more versatile than many similar styles.

Mephisto's have always been my most comfortable and practical sandals I own. I can always trust the brand to deliver an excellent true fit. The sandal virtually never wears out.

This is my sixth pair of Mephisto Altina shoes. They are incredibly comfortable, and I wear them for long distance walking in cities when I travel. I highly recommend them if you want to limit how many shoes you want to take on a trip as they go well with everything.

The best overall sandal I 've found--adjusts enough for my narrow feet, excellent support for my arches.

I bought these sandals for a recent trip and with grateful feet, I walked in them for hours. I trust Mephisto to provide a sturdy, comfortable shoe and I was not disappointed...these classy sandals were a perfect fit right out of the box. Of course, I am always grateful for Zappos consistently high level of service.

Altina bronze -- okay, I cheated. I bought these last summer in black so I knew that comfort was a no-brainer. I wasn't sure about the color but gave it a shot with Zappos easy return policy. They are not getting them back! The color is a great neutral - you really don't see the inner sole lining which isn't quite as brown as pictured. I found that there is no break-in time with this sandal. I also found them true to size. However, if you have long toes, you might want to consider going up a half size so your foot sits inside the front edge of the shoe. I just wish there were more color options and review stars. Five stars just isn't enough.

I have worn Altinas for years and years. I wore the first pair to Italy where I spent 6 weeks walking miles per day -- they wore like iron. A later pair made two six-week trips to Italy. They fit my feet like they were made just for me. I never have to break them in -- I just wear them. I have had some re-soled. When the uppers are really worn, have been wet too many times, etc. I wear them as garden shoes.

What a treat. Fit me like a glove, very comfortable and ready for my trip to NYC. I had always heard Mephisto's were comfortable and they are so right!

Because I need to be on my feet all day, this past spring I looked for a stylish and comfortable pair of sandals for the summer. I read the reviews and determined that Altina was the one for me. I have worn them daily for months and love every step I take in them. They remain smart looking even after getting wet once in a rain shower. I join the many who highly recommend this brand and this style. Most of my shoes are Mephisto, and they last for a long time, making them worth the price in every way.

Pure comfort! Needs no breaking in time, so you can wear them all day from the start. The arch support is heavenly, and the leather very soft and rich. They are worth every penny, I had to go up to a size 11, and I usually wear 9 1/2.

These are great walking sandals! I've now had three pairs over 12 years! They are very comfortable, great support, look good for a long time! My favs!

These are my favoritest sandals ever. I can walk all day in them and my plantar fascitis doesn't bother me. They fit like a glove and are comfy and awesome right out of the box. This is my second pair; I wore the first for 7 summers, nearly every day. LOVE.
