These may be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I bought them for vacation walking.

I love these sandals, so much that I have purchased 3 pair of the brown over the last 7 years and this year I bought a pair of black. You won't go wrong treating yourself to a pair of Altinas.

A very well made sandal. I bought these to wear while touring Italy but I haven\'t left yet. I have been wearing them at home and they are comfortable. No break in period needed.

I am really impressed with this shoe. I was looking for something moderately stylish that I would be able to wear walking around the city a lot. The very first time I wore them I took a two-hour walk doing errands and didn't get a single blister (and I am prone to them). They squeaked when I first tried them on inside, but not out on the pavement. Great practical, city-appropriate sandal.

Very comfortable, very nice looking sandal. Worth the price in my opinion. The only problem is they run small--I had to order an entire size larger to fit. But once I got those, they fit great. Excellent shoe.

This is the fourth pair of these shoes that I have owned. I love them and find them to be extremely comfortable and practical. I hope the style stays around for a long time.

First, the product: I buy a new pair of these sandals as a treat for myself each March. I live in them seven days a week until snowfall. Then I rotate them to my step machine, where they are my exercise shoe for one hour a day (taking a horrific beating!) until they are replaced the next March. Obviously, I love these shoes! Second, Zappos service: I realized this year as I was packing that I had forgotten to order a new pair. I was leaving on vacation Tuesday noon and it was Sunday night. I decided to take the old pair and to go ahead and order a new pair from Zappos so they would be waiting when I returned. Imagine my delight when they arrived Monday afternoon - standard shipping. A free unannounced shipping upgrade! Thanks Zappos. I walked on the beach in Florida for a week in my new Mephistos in complete comfort.

I bought these for my daughter because she needed a stylish, comfortable shoe for alot of walking on vacation...cobblestones, etc. I specifically chose them to be flattering on the feet...she has a large foot and I wanted something to make it appear smalleer....with the straps criss crossing it does that and it is sturdy but still attractive. She says it feets true to size (11) and is very comfortable. I gave my mother a pair of these last year and she has loved them, too. Mephistos always endure very well, looking good for years.

The shoes are perfect, just what I ordered. I already have 2 other pairs in a different color. I was amazed that the shoes arrived 2 days after I ordered them and the shipping was free. I love this style as they are comfortable and stylish as well. I have a pair 6 years old and still wear them too. I definitely recommend the Altina sandals as well as Zappos.

Just what I needed - I needed a sandal with good arch support for an upcoming trip to Japan. These felt very comfortable right out of the box, no break-in needed. I appreciate how lightweight these sandals are. I normally wear a 39 in Rieker or Clarks, but the 38 recommended by Mephisto was just right, I like the zig-zaggy straps too. Not boring like many comfort sandals. I look forward to years of wear.

Mephisto Altina - I love this sandal! This pair is my 3rd, so Mephisto is doing something right. My first pair suffered from my dog chewing through a strap. My 2nd pair was worn to death for about 6 years. And now finally I have a new pair. YAY. It's pretty, more comfortable than you can believe, and holds up well. Pricey? Yes - but truly worth every penny.

I wore this shoe into the ground. This shoe is well worth the money. I never had such a comfortable fit. I have wide feet and a small heel but this sandal fit my feet perfectly. They were dressy enough for dresses but casual enough for pant suits. I could walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in them, and I have! -Never any rubbing or pinching. At the time, I was having foot problems and couldn't wear regular sandals. I was so very grateful for these shoes. I wore mine out and purchased another pair. I prefer the nubuck to the leather.

This is the worst pair of Mephisto I've ever purchased. Within 30 minutes I had large blisters on my big toes. The leather was already shredding when I received them. As you walk your foot goes too far forward and causes the friction on the toes. The color stated is not true. They are more brown than black. 95% brown and 5% black.

Comfortable - I walk all day in this shoe and I have worn it every day for five years in the summer and I just sent it in and had it resoled. I love this shoe.

Best shoe ever! This is the best shoe I have ever worn in my life!! I bought my first pair 5 years ago and they are still going strong. It is a great walking shoe and works well with skirts, pants, shorts.... The craftsmanship is supberb and well worth the price.

Trip to Europe - I was thrilled with the shoes which were ideal for extensive walking in Dublin, the Irish countryside, & Paris. But I was thrilled even more by the high level of service provided by Zappos.com. Thank you.

Comfortable sandal - This sandal has good arch support.

Mephisto Altina - This is my second pair of the Alina sandal--I wore out the soles of the first pair! They are extremely comfortable and I hope this style is still available in another few years when this new pair needs to be replaced. I only wish other colors were available.

My feet are a size 12 with B for the toe area and AA for the heel area and I have hammer toes especially my little toes. The shoes are very comfortable and I love walking in them. I ordered these particular shoes because of the adjustable heel strap and because I could have a larger toe area. Although, I love the shoes and we bonded immediately, I became aware that I could not wear them as often or as long a time span within a day as I would like because of my hammer toes. The toe strap on the Altina has an opening just wide enough so that my little toe has a tendency to poke up through the opening. Other than that I love the color, the materials and they seem like they would work for a comfortable casual dress shoe. I have to poke another hole in the ankle straps to make it a little snugger. Next year I plan to get another pair in a different color.
