THE BEST!!!! I usually wear Birkenstocks because I have heel spurs, but when I couldn't find the style I liked, I saw these and decided to try them. I haven't had ONE PAIN in my heels since I've been wearing them and they are really pretty on your feet, too. I bought three colors, too...white, black and the dark brown...just love them!! Now I just ordered the Beka for the fall. I'm looking forward to trying them next.

These shoes are the greatest! I had a car accident three years ago and suffered nerve damage. I have orthotics in my other shoes, but I don't need them in my Helen's! The arch support is wonderful. I can walk for five miles and suffer no leg pain! They are great!

great value - These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I am now on my third pair of Mephisto Helen's. Not only are they comfortable, they last forever. They may seem a bit pricey at first, but over the course of their life they are not expensive at all.

Way comfortable - This Mephistos sandal really works for me. They are stand-on-your-feet-comfortable-all-day shoes. The "Helen" is pretty cute...not too old lady looking like some styles of Mephistos.

most versatile shoes - When I went on two week tropical vacation these were the only shoes I took. I didn't need any others.

I like these sandals very much. They have a terrific footbed, with good arch support, and are better than most similarly-styled shoes for a narrow foot. However, it would be nice if they came in narrow, as I do slip a bit in them. The service from Zappos was great--they came overnight!

Was afraid of purchasing a thong sandal because I thought the "toe thing" would be uncomfortable. I took a chance on the Mephisto Helens because I heard how incredibly comfortable they are and sure enough I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to wear them all day long the very first day and the "piece" between my toes did not bother me at all! I now have them in four different colors and wear them each and everyday. My Birkenstocks, which I used to wear faithfully, are sitting in my closet gathering dust! Love the look of the Helens!!!

Wonderful sandal- The best and most comforable sandal in the world.

Granola Glam - I choose this shoe as I have a bad back and have had to say goodbye to my heeled shoes and sandals. Buying it in gold seems to have negated the "granola-ish" look by adding a bit of pizazz. Shoe is comfortable, but a bit narrower than I thought. I would buy it in silver if it was available.

Great shoes! I love wearing flip-flops but was looking for a shoe with more support & style, but still casual. I found it in the Helen. Great shoe -- love the camel color - it goes with everything.

Best Ever - I am now wearing my second pair, the first lived thru four summers in Michigan with all the weir weather we have. I wore them in rain, 90 degree weather with 90% humidity. They held up to all the abuse I could possibly give them.

My new favorite shoe - Superior arch support and cushioning make these sandals comfortable for all-day wear right from the box. I needed a full size larger than usual due to the raised edge of the cork insole toe box. They've quickly become my favorite sandals.

The only problem I had was in adjusting to the toe strap on right shoe and left first toe. It was necessary to use a small band aid to eliminate "rubbing" which had caused skin irritation the first couple of times I wore the shoes.

The Most Comfortable For Everyday Wear - I adore the Helen. Bought my first pair three years ago (they are now my garden sandals) and have just purchased pairs #4 & #5. The feel like you are going barefooted, but with great support. Zappos customer service is really fantastic - they will bend over backwards to meet you every need! Thank You Zappos!!!

My 6th Pair - Back in 1997 I bought my first pair of these and I loved them! I just keep buying them but in different colors. From March to October I pretty much don't wear anything else. They never need "breaking in" and are simply the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Perfect shoe - For people with narrow feet, these sandals can be adjusted for a tighter fit. I own multiples of this shoe because I wear it all the time. The shaped sole supports my foot and gives instant relief for foot pain. This is the ONLY "thong" that I've ever worn because it does not put pressure between the toes. There is no break in time at all. I love this shoe.

I love these shoes - I continue to buy Mephisto's Helen. It is classy, feels like you're walking on clouds and fits like a dream. These are the best sandals!

Wonderful Sandals - I now have 3 pairs of Helen's and they are wonderful. Comfortable from the first wearing. I have a narrow foot and am able to adjust it to fit perfectly. I have a friend with a wide foot and the same goes for her. I also get all kinds of compliments on them. Recommend them to anyone who loves sandals but finds comfortable ones hard to find!

However, after wearing a pair of them for a year - they are, I believe, the most comfortable sandals that I have had. They seem to go a lot of places and are always very comfortable. 5 stars!!!

I love these shoes - This is like my tenth pair of these shoes. I live in Florida and I wear these shoes everyday. I have many colors. I wear Mephisto's all the time. I have bad feet and these make my feet feel like a little piece of heaven.

Another fan - Wow. Great sandal. I'm going to tell the long version of my story, because I didn't think about how many factors were going into my decision until after I had tried many different sandals out, with Zappos's help. I wore Birkenstocks (Arizona) for almost 20 years, and finally decided I needed a different toe grip... my feet were starting to ache across the top. I wasn't sure what caused that, so I didn't know what to try. I picked out a lot of beautiful sandals that were meant to be comfortable too, but found that they were all just too loose for me. I clearly needed adjustable straps, like my old Birkenstocks, but some other style. The other Birks didn't rock my boat. A friend recommended Naots. Naot is great, and led me to try a thong style grip. The toe post seems to change the way my toes grip, so I'm hoping it is a better style for me. Naot didn't have a buckle adjustment though, only a velcro one that didn't allow much real adjustment, frankly. Using Zappos reviews, I found that Mephisto was recommended. I never heard of Mephisto. But like Naot and Birkenstock, it's all about a comfy footbed. Naot is supposed to be longer wearing than Birkenstock, because the cork bed is held together with glue throughout, where Birkenstock uses glue superficially and needs glue maintenance. So I examined Mephisto's sole carefully when I got it. I found that I could not tell about how the cork was done, but the sole is a lot thicker than Birkenstocks, and extends beyond the cork. I think this will protect the cork a lot better, and will help the sandal wear a lot longer too. I also found that the Naots were very close to the edge of my foot. Mephisto has a thicker, chunkier look, but it made me feel more secure to have all that material surrounding my foot. One reviewer said Helens stopped her from pronating, and I could see that it might help me that way too. I was very impressed, and glad that the Zappos review system connected me to a shoe I hope will work well for me. I never knew before this odyssey that I was looking for a strap-adjustable, toe-posted, high-comfort walking sandal. In colors nice enough to be worn as my dress shoe for the summer, come to that. I may not have found it in a local shoe store, either. So thanks to Zappos customers for their reviews, and thanks to Zappos for an extensive selection of styles and colors, plus the service to help get it right.

Mephisto Helen - This is the absolutely best sandal! I have had reconstructive foot surgery and this sandal has great arch support. The adjustable are also convenient for narrow feet. I bought this sandal in gold and my only criticism is the the color is uneven and seems to have selectively rubbed off. However, I plan to purchase the silver if it becomes available in my size!
