Super comfortable and stylish. My teenage daughter cannot wear the rubber flip flops for a variety of reasons. She loves these as they offer excellent support. The grey etna color is!

I first purchased the gray etna Helen and was so impressed with the comfort and the looks of this sandal. I used to wear Birkenstocks and they were comfy, but hated the "fart" sound they made when wearing them. I stopped wearing them many years ago because of this. But these Mephisto have little airholes in the heel area and they don't make the "fart" sound like the Birkenstocks. I'm in love! So, I ordered the black waxy Helens next. Comfort as soon as I put these on too. I'm considering ordering another color! By the way, I have had heel spurs in the past, had my right knee totally replaced, and no longer wear uncomfortable shoes. Comfort is the main thing I look for in a shoe. Looks come 2nd. But these Mephisto Helens fit the bill in both instances for me. Comfort, good looks, good arch support, and comfort in the heel area with no weird noises! Love them! Pricey, but when your feet feel good, what is price?

I have suffered from planters fasciitis for several years. I highly recommend these shoes. I have all types of shoes such as Dansko, Naot, etc, but these are my very favorites. They are worth every penny. I know as I own four pairs. I love them!

I have purchased a pair of Helen in waxy black every year for the last 6 years. I wear them every day when it's warm here. I pretty much live in them. they take a little time to break in as they come very stiff and it makes you feel like you will have discomfort wearing them, but before you know it they are fitting like a good friend. I have a wide foot and usually wear a size 9 in shoes. I have had foot reconstructive surgery years ago and this is one of my favorite brands - Mephisto. In this brand I wear a 39. it fits perfectly. Do not let them get wet! They will stretch out and be ruined. and make sure you buy some cork life and apply whenever you see the cork look dull. This will prolong life.

Love, love, love this model Mephisto. I live in San Diego, so have few weather issues and therefore literally live in these shoes. So much so that I get annoyed when I have to "dress up" for any event and need to change shoes. A warning though: all of the soft leather Mephisto Helen models(at least every pair I have ever owned)stretch out after only wearing them for a couple/three months, however the patent leather model lasts very well. I usually buy one ever year, but again, I really and truly live in these shoes. I highly recommend them for their comfort.

These are my new go-to everyday sandals. I know this style has been around forever, but I had never ordered them because i thought they were were too hippy-chick for me. Got nude patent leather which I think sleeks them up and cuts down on the "earthy/granola" factor. The comfort and support really can't be beat. Love em. I wear a 5.5 and needed 35 in these.

I have had two other pairs in this model, and the blue star is by far the prettiest, and easiest to break in. They are really beautiful sandals and I wore them from the minute they came out of the box. I wish more shoes were this pretty and comfortable.

Love these sandals! My second pair of Mephisto Helens. Were recommended by my podiatrist & are the only sandals I can wear comfortably...worth every penny. And Zappos' service is second to none.

I had to return these. I ordered a size larger as suggested. They were too big. I should have gone with my normal size.

These are my new favorite shoes. I plan on buying another pair in this style and trying other Mephisto styles. They are well worth the money!

I must say Mephisto's are the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased. Their so soft cushiony. Feels better than my slippers. The pair in the picture above I purchased as a birthday present for my sister. I have 3-pairs already. You will be hooked.

I must have at least six pair of these shoes...black, brown, and green patent for dressing up and red and brown and now matte black for casual wear. These are just so comfortable, and I can also get them resoled locally when I need to.

These are one of my favorite sandals. I have problems with my feet and had no issues with this sandal. The patent leather is a great style.

Mephisto Helen is my favorite sandal. I've worn them for years, especially while traveling, and they last and last. I have three pairs at the moment. The only down side is that the suede insoles do tend to smell after a while, and they stiffen up a bit, making them not as grippy and easy to walk in. But I have very tough feet to please (just ask the wonderful and patient Zappos.com), and these have been awesome. Thank you for offering lots of Mephisto styles and colors, Zappos!

Memphisto Helen has been my favorite pair of shoes for 7 years. The Dark Brown is such an excellent color to match anything. I was so impressed with the comfort that the price made sense. However, after getting 7 years of wear out of them I consider them a steal. The only reason I need to replace them now is that the cork is chipping on the side. The leather strap on the top did have to break in some at the beginning. Can't wait to have another pair. I am sticking with the Dark Brown Waxy Leather again too.

WOW. I wholeheartedly recommend these sandals. THE most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!! They are cuter than the photo would lead you to believe but looks matter not at all once you put these dream shoes on. I just received them and am back on the Zappos site looking for other shoes from this designer.

This is my third Helen, all three in the same color, tan grain leather. I've found each to last a few years, with hard (favorite shoe) use. What can I say? I love this sandal! I tried to switch this year to Finn only to find my foot rejecting it (It's not a Helen!) The footbed of the Helen sandal either works for you or it doesn't, and my feet seem to feel totally at home in it. Like a Birkenstock, it molds to your foot, but isn't hard to break in (one day and you're there). My first pair I found it hard to get to used to the leather between my toes, but within a day or two I was in love. I wear a 38 in this shoe, and I'm a perfect 8 with somewhat narrow feet. Probably, it wouldn't be as good if you have a wider foot. But if it fits, you'll have trouble taking this shoe off to put on any other pair.

These are beautiful! I always love the Helen's. I saw a similar design in another brand, tried them, not the same as Mephisto! Thick leather, thick anatomical footbed, firm support, great arch. I had intended to send this pair back simply because I bought another pair with these, and only needed the 1 pair, but I gotta have 'em. They are gorgeous in this color, pictures don't do them justice. I can be comfortable & stylish at the same time. Thanks again Zappos, you are winners!

I am on my fourth pair. I have narrow feet that are very flat. I was suffering with plantar fasciitis. These were recommended to me and they saved me. Even with flat feet. It made all the difference. They have great arch support. Now I keep buying them over and over. I live in Florida so I am in sandals year round.

This is the first time that I have bought from Zappos and I could not be happier. I have a wide toe, narrow heel, super flat feet and bunions. These provide great support. My only complaint is that the arch hurt my feet; but my back, legs and hips do not. So it is a trade off. I am usually barefoot whenever possible, so I am sure that my feet will adjust. These shoes are like walking barefoot but on soft surface. I absolutely love them!

Most comfortable sandals ever. I have had foot pain and some foot issues and these sandals eliminate that completely, when I try to wear other sandals, my feet are very unhappy. I have multiple pairs and love them so much, I only wish they made this foot bed in some more cutting edge fashion styles. I don't think they are very stylish, but I can't give up the comfort they give me. I hope they make more stylish options soon with this same comfort! I thought the width was perfect, I think I have a normal width foot.

I've been wearing these sandals for 15 years, one of the best on the market. My podiatrist said they were one of the best shoes I could put on my foot! They are very comfortable!

I had a pair of these sandals about 10 years ago but somewhere along the way they were sent to the thrift shop. While visiting my married daughter I saw her own 10 year old pair of these and borrowed them for a few hours. I had forgotten how comfortable they are! I mean, really comfortable. But here's the reason I bought a new pair: except for the inner sole which looked worn, the outer sole and the leather straps looked brand new. I actually thought she'd just bought herself a new pair of sandals. When I realized how the trustworthy Mephisto brand looked so good 10 years later, I knew I wanted an investment in a good shoe that supports my plantar fasciitis and my arthritic toe, is super comfortable, and must be attractive enough that my very cool young daughter also wears! And this time, they won't be going to the thrift shop. I'll probably get tired of them before they wear out in which case, I'll retire them to the back of the closet, only to pull them out 10 years later!

These are super comfortable! I absolutely love them! They run a size smaller, I am a 7 in sandals, but got these in 8 and they fit perfect. They are very soft and more flexible than the other similar sandals that I have tried. The strap is what holds the foot in perfect place, it does not feel like you have to hold the sandal it holds itself. Great design, look, and comfort.

Lin-South Florida I bought my first pair of Helen Mephisto 10 yrs ago. I've walked all over Disney World without any foot problems or leg cramps due to wearing these sandals. European sizing.
