This style has been popular for many years due to the comfort they provide. They are my favorite sandals because I can wear them all day without tiring or having my feet hurt. I have several pairs and love them so much, I wish they had a winter version!

These save my knees! I have had 3 cal replacement and I have a lot of pain. My dr saus I need to wear supportive shoes at all times. If I do not wear these around the house I get knee pain. I find these more comfortable than Birkenstocks! I would size up! Runs small for me.

This is my second pair of Helen's. I purchased a pair in the grey etna finish a few years ago and loved them! I also bought the waxy brown leather this year. All of them are consistent in size, fit and support. The only other shoes that are comfortable for me are Birkenstocks. I think the Mephisto brand has more stylish selections without sacrificing comfort. I also bought a pair of Adelie in the camel leather. Love those too!

Turning 50 sucks, and one of the accommodations I've had to make is to make sure I don't hold up the group on our frequent brewery crawls and city tours. My new fashion role model is Heidi Klum, and she wears Birks a lot, which led me to Mephisto's. Mephisto's seem a bit more slimline than the Birks, and the configuration of the straps makes my legs look a little less cankly. Out of the box these were comfortable enough to walk around NYC, even in the rain, and on some paved park trails up and down steps etc. I'm loving them! I got the black waxy finish. I sent back the silver because it was seriously shiny metallic, not the rustic luxe kind of finish I was hoping for. I am a 9.5 and ended up getting size 40.

Best summer casual sandals. Look good. Trim. Only get better with each wearing. Forming to your individual foot. Love them. Have them in several colors. You can walk in these all day and your feet and legs will not get tired.

My neighbor raved about these shoes, so I bought a pair. I love them!

Just received the Mephisto "Helen" yesterday and immediately tried it on and read the accompanying information provided in the shoebox about the soft-air technology design of the sandal. When I first started to walk around the house in them my feet felt differences immediately and I wasn't sure if my feet would adapt to these differences. But I did like the way my overall walking was affected. I tried them on again later in the day and decided I would keep them on to see if my feet would acclimate to this new "technology". By the end of the day I really liked the way my feet, legs and knees felt. I love the color (Camel Nairobi)as it will go with so many things and adds a little touch of glamour to the sandal. I am looking forward to wearing these sandals often. MY first Mephisto purchase.

My husband has been an avid Birkenstock user for more than 20 years. When I decided to purchase some sandals we started with them and I found the pre-determined footbed area didn't work for me in any size. (If you've tried a Birk you know there are ridges in the toe area, for instance, which my foot found fatiguing. Also the "zero" heel area made my back hurt and the arch was in a weird spot for my foot.) After trying to "break them in" for a year, I was done. I came across these and WOW what a difference! I love that these have no pre-determined foot areas (per-say). The cork having a suede lining makes them instantly comfortable against your skin. The adjustability of the top strap allows me to break in this portion (being leather) without any waiting period. In fact, I wore these straight out of the box and never had any issues at all. There was NO "break-in" period. The real hit for me on these though was the impact it has had on my back and feet. I have various foot issues, including a particularly high arch. Additionally I have severe scoliosis and sustained a back injury in my youth (fell through a roof and cracked my tailbone) which combined make life painful at times. Usually at the end of a long day of walking I am in pain from the sole of my foot clear into my jaw (no exaggeration), but with these sandals I am pain free! It has changed my life! I just bought another pair in black so I have a secondary option for other outfits. These are cute. I don't feel like I look like I'm wearing an old lady support shoe at all. (I am in my 30's.) My only complaint is at some point it won't be summer and I'll have to return to regular shoes. :)

Did I love these immediately? No. Do I love them now? Yes! I got the patent leather and I think the leather is particularly stiff. I massaged the leather and then later even put adhesive mole pad on the inside of the straps by the toes. Now they are getting better. Memphisto are great shoes and worth the money if you have issues with your feet. You just have to be patient in breaking them in.

Holy cow I love these shoes. A perfect blend of stylish and comfort. Virtually no break in time, they are top quality and great fit. I'm already thinking of the next color to get. They suggest one size up but my regular size fits me perfect.

I wondered why this shoe was so popular. Then I ordered it and understood. I got the desert buffalo leather, which looks great. On the Mephisto website, based on my foot length, a size 9 (39) was recommended. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9. The 9 was too short, however, so I exchanged it for size 10 (40). This sandal needed no breaking in. It is comfortable between the toes. I like that I don't have to squeeze my toes to keep it on when I walk, which I have to do with most flip flop styles. I'm sure I'll be back for more colors.

After years of suffering from plantar fasciitis issues, I have found relief. While I miss being able to wear those cute flip flops.. my arches thank me for not wearing them! I wear these around the house to keep my feet supported well. Thank you Mephisto!!

I am wearing these shoes right now. I bought them to replace my (formerly) beloved silver Birkenstocks. The built in ridges started to cause bruises on my feet. These sandals are happily conforming with just enough support. Very comfortable for every day wear, with yoga pants or dressy casual wear. Love them.

I may have found my new favorite sandal. Just received these yesterday, thanks Zappos for the one day shipping, you're the best. After reading the reviews I ordered a 39 even tho I wear an 8 and they're perfect. At first I thought they were a little long but the fit and great support were just what I need and after reading the inside of the Mephisto bad lid it does say order larger. Be sure to go up .5 or 1 size larger. Only a little stiff between the toes but after a few hours there's no problem, no blisters, no rubbing. Only tiny complaint, I ordered the Grey Etna and the color is much lighter than it looks online, not as grey as I'd have liked but the color, sort of pewtery is very neutral and not a deal breaker. I see more Mephisto Helen sandals in my future.

These sandals were recommended to me and they do not disappoint. Very comfortable and supportive foot bed which I need since some days my plantar fasciitis flares up. Love that they fit over the big toe but are classy looking and NOT a classic flip flop style, and the adjustable buckle helps make the fit secure. Lots of colors to choose from - wasn't sure that to go with but in the end, went with the Camel Nairobi (which has some shiny gold flecks in it that were hard to see in the photo). I'll be wearing these a lot this summer!

I absolutely love the fuchsia color. Great with summer outfits. I had never tried this brand. Found it very comfortable and well made. Great sandals !! I wear a 7.5 or 8. The 38 fit well.

I really like this shoe but I wanted to mention that although I have always been a 38 in Birkenstocks, I am a 39 in Mephisto, apparently.

I have a regular width foot - between a size 7.5 and 8. The 38s were too short and narrow and the 39s were just too narrow. I will sadly return these and look at the wider Birkenstock.

This is my first pair of Mephisto's and I love them! I think they are very comfortable and they have broken in very quickly. I got the Venise color and love it! It will go with everything. This sandal looks good with, shorts, capris or a casual dress.

Beyond comfortable!!! LOVE them! They are definitely worth the money!

My husband loves his Birkenstock sandals, so I purchased some. Birkenstock does not work for my foot somehow...I hated the pre-determined areas for your foot (particularly the lip that is directly below your toe creases). I found these Mephisto sandals a while back and finally ordered them because I could see there wasn't a lot of pre-determined foot areas. I'm so glad I bought these! They were immediately comfortable! The only part I need to "adjust" to, is the leather between my big toe and the next one over. (The leather is a bit stiff.) But, I know it will wear well and I will adjust soon. I highly recommend these! (Especially for those like me with foot and back problems.)

I have this style in four colors now, plus several other styles in Mephisto. Always well made, comfortable. To some people, may seem a little pricey, but well worth it. Living in a warm climate, I need sandals I can depend on year round!

I have plantar fasciitis. My doctor told me I could never wear flip flops again. But I would wear Birks. Well, none of the cute colors come in my size (12.5). Mephistos do tho, and so much cuter. I've worn them for a year and still look great and the cork bed is still in great condition. Well worth the money
