My new pair of Mephisto sandals arrived a day earlier than expected! Since leopard print is my all time favorite I HAD to add this years rendition to my collection. I love these sandals so much and I have happy feet as a result.

I love Mephistopheles sandals. They are expensive but so worth it if your legs ache.

This is my 2nd pair of the Helen sandal so I knew what size to order. I am usually a 8.5 or a 29 but in these I ordered a 28 and they are perfect. I love the fit and the comfort. Mephisto is the only shoe I can wear that does not aggravate my plantar fasciitis. They are worth every dollar!! I love the comfort and the silver leather.

I have plantar fasciitis and this is the only shoe that helps me. Both my daughters also wear them and introduced them to me. We all have at least 2 pair. I just sent a pair over to Australia where I have a friend who also has plantar fasciitis - she received them the other day and just loves them. Said they make her feet feel so good and sure they will see a lot of wear during the upcoming summer. A must buy! You won't regret it, money well spent.

I have been wearing Helen sandals since I discovered them in Italy in 1998. I have worn the same size 38. I reordered recently and noticed Helen has now ordered a plus. My foot is on the narrow side so stayed with my regular Helen 38. The new fit is very different- had to lengthen the step to the 3rd hole to even get it on and the footbed is much less comfortable. I can now feel the shoe on the sides of my foot rather than the effortless freedom of the old design. I usually log 25-30 miles a week in Helen but can’t imagine taking a walk in these- SO disappointing. I don’t have a wide foot so the Plus won’t work either. A 25 year relationship appears to have come to an end.

this is my second pair. The leather is nice and soft. I bought in dark brown also but the leather never softened enough for me and gave me blisters. My daughter has now had 3 pairs of these and worn them out as she wears them so much!

After trying 5 pairs of Birkenstocks and striking out on all of them I tried these. Ordered two colors the sand Havana and the Camel scratch. Both fit good in my regular size 38 (7 1/2). Not too narrow as feared. The Leather on the Sand Havana might be softer but I like the overall look of the camel scratch. I had to fiddle with the strap because initially it rubbed against my bunion on the left foot. Simple adjustment and it was fine. Overall, much more comfortable than Birkenstock's and definitely better looking IMO. Also love Taos. Thank you Zappos for putting up with me in getting it right. Birkenstock's are just not for me.

Was a little surprised when I slipped them on. My previous pair of "Helen" were comfortable instantly. These felt a little rough between my toes. Fortunately that feeling went away in a day or so. The leather is a little different than the previous pair but my feet soon felt like they were home.

I love the look and support. Unfortunately the toe strap rubbed my bunion and I knew they would not work.

great!!! I have been using Helen for last 14 years and love it. some of there footbed is feel different which some them not comfortable arch wise other then that Its a great sandal.

The shoes were really beautiful. I can’t wear Birkenstock’s anymore, and I wanted something similar. Mephisto does not seem to be wide enough for my feet, and the slight elevation was not something that would work for me. Also the heel cup seemed a little narrow. Although, I think that is because my feet are so wide. A size 40 was a good length for my size 9 feet.

I've worn these a few times around the house before reviewing. The leather (suede) is very soft, and the insole is soft and feels so nice. It's real quality. I wear an 8M shoe, and tried size 38 and 39. It was a tough decision, but I kept the 39, reading that they should fit on the loose side as opposed to very fitted. I love the subtle neutral color and that the sole of the shoe is a nice subtle match, and doesn't scream in opposition. Something that is a real plus for me, the heel seems ever so slightly elevated, not like the almost negative drop of Birks. It feels more comfortable and doesn't cause any foot aches after wearing for a while, like the negative drop seems to do. The adjustable strap would accommodate any foot volume, I think. I have a low arch, and the support is definite, but not too aggressive to be uncomfortable. The toe strap has caused zero discomfort. I'm impressed with this shoe and will keep my eyes open for other subtle colors. I'd like it with a back strap. The Helen Perf didn't work for me because the laser cutouts rubbed on the underside. Too bad, because it's very pretty.

I have four pairs of Helen style sandals. What fun it is to have tan lines on your feet. This is the second pair of this color/leather since I blew out another pair. They run true to size. I walked all over Italy with them.

Just bought these wonderful and pretty sandals. They were very comfortable right out of the box.

Although I found the site a bit unwieldy because it is so big, I was able to navigate it and found the sandals that I used to wear all the time and had been searching for. They are the most comfortable sandals that I have ever worn. They are dressy enough to go with a skirt or dress and casual enough to be worn with pants or shorts. I highly recommend them.

I bought these for a trip to Peru and Ecuador. They were great for city walking and for "evening" wear. Just dressy enough with the bit of shine. I got a lot of compliments. They also added a bit of style to my neutral travel color scheme. I had bought the same shoe in a peachy color some years ago so I was pretty confident of the comfort and fit.

There's a reason these are offered in more than a dozen colors. They somehow manage to be comfortable and flattering. There are no straps to hurt your toes -- they are as easy to wear and as stylish as flip flops but they have a lot more cushioning and support. After two or three summers the footbed tends to get squashed down and smooth. Just tighten the straps a little. I purchase a new pair every other year or so. No longer even bother to consider other styles.

This is one of the best sandals ever made. I own two other pair of the Helen style and they are not only comfortable they provide proper arch support for the feet, etc. I will buy this style again.

Great shoe! Wear it and another pair I have in black Nubuck everyday. Perfect fit and will buy more.

I love Mephisto, this is my 3rd pair in 10 years. They last forever and provide great support. The glossy leather is bit more stylish than the suede-ish like leather.

Shoes were exactly what I wanted and service from Zappos (I had to swap sizes) was the best mail order I've ever experienced.

Best sandals ever! I love them - the fit is excellent and so comfortable with arch support! Best price I've found is on Zappos and free delivery and very quick delivery! A Winner all around!

Love these shoes! I need comfort sandals, but don't want to totally give up looking nice. These are comfortable and pretty. I own 5 pairs of Mephisto Helen sandals and I love them.

Just received them in fuchsia, wow, very nice. This is my 5th pair, in other colors very very comfy. Can walk all day in these. Worth every penny.
