I wore these on a trip to Italy. Felt like I was walking on a wood board and made my feet ache. The leather between my toes cut my foot and no matter how I adjusted the shoe, the shoe kept pushing my foot back due to my high arch. Horrible and expensive mistake.

This is a poor imitation of the same shoe (style) I purchased 2 years ago. The size 39 was over 1/4" shorter than my other pair with less cork thickness. They must have changed manufacturer - definitely not the same quality shoe.

I have worn Mephisto Helen for more than 12 years and have always loved them... until the last purchase I made. My feet stink every time after wearing them and they have literally disintegrated (both pairs, purchased at the same time) within 6 months. Extremely disappointing given that they have been my all-time favorite for years, but I won't order them again.

I purchased two sandals the same size that are similar to each other like Mephisto or a Birkenstock that has a molded foot bed. The Mephisto was a half to a full size smaller to the other sandal. I returned the Mephisto and kept the other.

Glossy leather is scratchy and uncomfortable. Beware if you are happy with the nubuck or other soft leather.

I had to return these. The straps did not not feel like the usual leather that the Helen style has. It felt like stiff plastic and was extremely uncomfortable. Also, the left shoe was an inch longer than the right one! I have 10 pairs of this style in different colors, and I have never had a problem like this before!

I’ve worn this same shoe for years. I’ve never had a problem with comfort before. Never needed to ‘break them in’. This pair, however, has been a nightmare. I’ve tried to wear them several times but they are still giving me blisters between my toes. Unfortunately, the first time I wore them I was out for the day and had to buy bandaids to try to protect my feet. Didn’t work. I’ve tried them several more times and they feel just as bad as day one. I don’t know why they’re different than my past pairs but I cannot keep them.

Size was fine but the width was way off. They felt so comfortable and I liked how they looked. Unfortunately, these were way too narrow for my feet. Literally had toes hanging off the side. I wear Birkenstocks in the regular width which are perfect. Birkenstock's narrow width are acceptable for me too but I prefer the extra space of the regular width. Too bad these shoes didn't work.

The minute I put them on, the toe area cut into my toe. They were so cute but they have to go back.

I have been wearing Mephisto Helens for YEARS. I love them and have had many of the colors. Because of having plantar faciitis, I find these to be the perfect sandal. I have always been happy with my Helens. However, the last pair I bought, which are silver, are not comfortable. The top part is hard and hurts my feet. I have tried to break them in but it's unbearably uncomfortable. This is such a disappointment. It's the first time I've ever been unhappy or unable to wear Mephistos. I'm stuck, I guess. They are really cute silver shoes too!

There is something wrong with the construction of the left shoe. It irritated my large toe, and I think other reviewers have complained about this. Maybe that is why they are on sale? I have had at least four pair of this style sandal, and this is the first one that didn't work for me.

These shoes have been part of my life for 10 years, but this pair did not fit properly. I could barely get my toe into the proper place and the cross band was way too tight. I am hoping it was an aberration because this is a favorite sandal for a number of reasons.

Beware! If you have Helen sandals that you love, but are a few years old and need to replace them, this shoe is not the same as it was. I ordered the same size as I did 2 years ago, but it was a full size smaller and narrower than my old pair. I held them up to the old pair to compare and was shocked at the difference! I haven't tried the Helen Plus, yet, and am not likely to, because I already own brown and black and I will just keep wearing them until they fall apart, because the old Helens are the most comfortable sandals I've had in recent years, due to severe overpronation. I really hope they go back to the old sizing - because of all of the colors, I would then order one in almost every color! I've never been so disappointed with a shoe!

don't end up at the foot dr! Stay away from this sandal if you have a narrow foot.! They're great looking but a real problem for someone with a less than wide foot. I wore this sandal almost daily last summer and I ended up with some serious foot problems. I acutally visited a podiatrist for the first time in my life! I suggest the Elka for someone with a less than narrow foot. Not as stylish but definately comfortable.

I love these Mephisto shoes! My feet feel and look great in these shoes. The arch support is one of the best aI have found for comfort. I have several pairs in different colors.

I love my Mephisto’s but when you’re ordering make sure not to order the Plus ones unless you have a wider foot .. made that mistake once and won’t do it again. Otherwise these are the best sandals

The suede is nice to wear with anything

The sole seems firmer than my last pair, but the fit is perfect1 81/2 or 38 euro.

Ihave worn Helen Mephisto shoes for years and these shoes seem the same (maybe a little stiffer). The problem is that they are "nubuck" I did not undestand that nubuck is a kind of suede, which is more prone to show spots and absorb dirt. I need very low maintenance sandals.

I wear 8.5 US. Ordered 39/9. They fit just right. The old pink color in suede turned out to not be my thing. I felt the strap between the toes was uncomfortable in a bulky way tho’ they’d probably wear into a comfortable shape over time. I ordered a different style that also had the same toe arrangement and it was fine. I didn’t feel as secure walking in these tho’ they are way better than Birkenstock 2 strap style. The Madeline and Madalyn style is the ticket for fast walking in this style sandal! Returned.

Very comfortable. Have been buying them for years and can't find anything I like better.

I have been wearing Mephisto for years. They are well made and the fit is excellent!!!
