They are stylish and feel so great on the foot. I especially enjoy the light quality of this shoe; you don't even know they are on your feet. This is my second pair. I am a true 9.5 in U.S. sized shoes. The Mephisto size 40 is too long for my foot. I needed to order the 39 for a proper fit.

The best summer sandals - I own 10 pairs and am buying two more this year. Need I say more? They're the best and most comfortable slip on sandals I have ever worn.

Great Summer Shoes - I bought 2 pairs of this shoe in the beginning of this past summer 2003. They were so comfortabe, I wore them all the time. They still look as good as the day I bought them. Because they are such a good shoe I went and bought 2 more pair's in differant color. So now I have 4 colors to choose from and enjoy. I have bad arches and these give great support. I can wear these all day without my feet or legs hurting or feeling tired.

The Mempisto shoe, in my opinion, is the ONLY comfortable shoe on the market that also has some style to it. Prior to the Memphisto, I had worn the Birkenstock with the two straps across the front and felt they were very ugly. The Memphisto is NOT an ugly shoe.

Nice sandal - This is a great shoe, but I thought it ran a full size smaller. My foot is on the narrow size and the width was a little big. I wear a 9 and, even though it was small in length, the width was better then on the size 10. It does come in a narrow but Zappos does not carry them.

I have a bad back and Mephiisto is the only sandal or shoe I can wear. It is not only stylish but, comfortable and the people here at Zappos are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. In other words awesome.

Been waiting for this style to return. Best slide ever. Buy one size larger. Patent leather is not flexible, wish they made the leather ones again (not nubuck). Still happy they are back

I like these shoes. I would like them more if they were simply regular navy leather. I am not a big fan of patent leather. But, these look nice, feel great, and I am enjoying them.

Attractive shoe, comfy insole but had to return because it is way too snug with no give and can't be adjusted. Great for very narrow feet.

Really like the comfort and style of this sandal; however, the felt footbed tends to make my feet sweat.

Very supportive base for foot, use as great shoe at home all day! Only issue is inside under part of leather has strange rough liner?! Old version was underside of leather, hoping this pair breaks in and smooths out and not a deal breaker. Keeping!

Very uncomfortable puts pressure on metatarsal area - Comfortable at first, but within one hour painful in metatarsal area.

Mephisto's Hanka Na - These are good over-all sandals. I happen to love any shoe with cork in the platform. I'm hoping these will last a long time, they feel like they could!

I have this style in suede and it is incredibly comfortable. This one was not. The leather strap cut into my foot. I had to return it. It does have a great footbed though.

This shoe has a very comfortable footbed, but the top of the shoe is uncomfortable, and there is not enough coverage to prevent a flip-flop type of walk. I didn't want to "break it in" so I didn't wear it more than 5 minutes, but I could tell it wasn't going to work. Such a shame, because the footbed is excellent.

This is a very uncomfortable shoe. There seems to be something wrong with the design.

So disappointed by how uncomfortable these are - I coveted these beautiful shoes for months and finally bought them from Zappos last summer when I found them discounted a bit on another site (Zappos 110% price protection policy is awesome). I got them in patent and they are absolutely adorable. They are incredibly uncomfortable though. I can't figure out what the problem is. They don't stay on my foot very well, so I have to grip them very tightly, making my whole leg feel sore and making me walk with a slow, stumbly gait that one doesn't associate with "comfort" shoes. But even though they are too loose, they give me incredibly painful cuts where the straps are. I tried getting little slide sandal socks and they just bunched up a lot and didn't help at all. I am at a loss as to how to make these work, but am thinking of putting some moleskin stuff on the inside of the strap so maybe they won't rub or cut quite so much. Such a shame, I was hoping these would be my everyday shoes for summer and was excited to find something so attractive with good arch support for my flat feet. I usually wear 12 in closed-toe shoes, and between 11 and 12 in sandals. I ordered these in a 42 and they are just barely the right length. I have somewhat narrow feet and am not sure if that is the root of my problem with these.

Comfortable - The footbed of this sandal is really conforming to your foot and gives lots of support, but the strap across the toes is stiff and scratchy.

Stiff and hard to break in. Wore with socks on carpet in my house--never softened up. 1 wearing w/o socks the leather turned my feet black. Not worth the price.

JMR's review - I love the shoe except that it is too tight. I have an average foot, not wide, not narrow. I have now taken the shoe to a shoe repair shop to have the leather part streched out so as to fit my foot. I hope it works or I will not end up wearing the shoe. The length of the shoe is perfect.

Hanka NA - The support isn't in the right place. It's stiff, not pliable.

If only it were available in wide. The M width is too snug for my slightly wide foot and I worry that the patent leather won't stretch with time. Otherwise, excellent sole support.

LOVE, LOVE these sandals!! This is my third pair in probably the last 15 years. They are great support and easy on and off. I have been wishing Mephisto would bring this style back and I found them at Zappos! The "black" is actually a charcoal gray--which I like better than black. They are a lot tighter than my original pair but I am sure they will stretch out across the top of my foot shortly.
