These are made for people with very narrow feet. While they are the best looking combat boot on the market, they won't fit anyone with normal or wide feet.

Currently using these boots for warehouse work and so far so good! I put really good insoles in them for more support.

My husband has worn this brand for over 10 years. He is on his 12th pair. These boots were an exchange for style #8761 that split in the center of the sole the first week my husband had them. So far, the #1919 series is holding up well and he has no complaints on the comfort, he loves this style. Although he wears them everyday while restoring old houses, we recommend both for street wear only -not rugged enough for a work boot unless you don't mind buying a new pair every 8-10 months as we do.

Can withstand anything even fire! I owned a pair of these shoes for over 4 years and they still looked brand new. They were the BEST boots I've ever owned till a fateful night in November when a house fire claimed my belongings. The boots were the only shoes that managed to survive the fire but were unwearable afterward due to the smell of burn. God I loved those boots!

I've always wanted them - I always wanted these and everyone that had them said they are comfortable. I've had an issue breaking them in, they are a bit tough to wear at first, but the look of them overrides the blisters! Zappos gave great service, we ordered the wrong size at first and they shipped out new ones, no charge of course, and we had the new ones within 2 days. Fantastic customer service, will buy shoes through them from now on!

Eyelets wear out- Dr Martens are overrated. Yes they are comfortable but not if you are on your feet all day. There’s no cushion support. The material used is better than most boots. The brass eyelets ware out before the sole or any other part of the boot. The problem with this is that the brass eyelets develop a sharp edge cutting the laces. Invest in a tool to replaces the eyelets and you will get twice the life out of your boots!!

Good boot - This is my third pair of these boots in the past ten years. This time I wanted the cherry red ones. The color on Zappos was different than what I received. The ones I received were a lot darker red than I thought they would be. They look all right but I would have liked them a bit lighter. Otherwise the boot fit well and is comfortable.

Why did I wait so long? Love them to death. The fine hair cell needed no break-in (smooth leather is murderous). They are a little big but that's ok with a pair of gel insoles and odoreaters. They're super duper comfy.

Still a classic - I have been wearing Dr. Martens Boot for about 12 years. I got my first pair when grunge was the newest thing. I guess I have sort of turned into one of those guys that got stuck in his highschool days because I've been wearing them ever since. I have had many pairs. Good ones and ones that wore out too quickly. I don't really mind the fact that they are no longer made in England, because they seem to be exactly the same. This latest pair has been just as rough to break in as any before and I am hopeful that once they are broken in they will be just as comfortable. Zappos has a great selection and I scored free shipping.

Not to bad - Great boots right out of the box. I bought them the day they came out. Now they are dead. They don't take much to ruin the bottom of them. But they were the most comfortable boots and best looking boots I've ever owned.

New to DM's - These came in 2 days after ordering and I was so happy. The only minor problem that I have is that the leather is very stiff and it digs into my ankles when I’m walking, and the color isn’t as bold as it looks online. Overall though, I’d say a very comfortable boot for the most part, and it looks really good with everything, especially rolled up jeans. Thanks again Zappos.

The Dr. Martens 1919 is time tested classic. Early punks helped to make DM's a mainstream hit.

Great customer service, crappy foreign "boots" The Chinese-manufactured DMs are vastly inferior to the originals; caused painful blisters and are no longer safety rated. Truly a shame, because I couldn't be happier with Zappos' service... who am I kidding, I'll probably buy from them again.

Good boot, poor sole - I've had close to 10 pairs of DM boots over the last 15 years and the last 2 pairs I've had the sole split on me (after only 2 months) in the middle-instep-side. Quality is not what it use to be. At least where the sole is involved.

A Chef's Agony - I recently ordered these boots for working in a kitchen. They are neither water, nor, oil resistant. I have been wearing them now for almost a month. They just became tolerable to wear two days ago!! This is my fouth pair of Doc's over the course of ten years. I have never had such agony from a pair until now. These suck!! The fact that they are made in China now is also extremely disheartening. However, it is what I ordered and they do look bad@$$ with my artic camo chef pants.

These are classic and awesome, they are a little heavy for active days but ordinary usage are fine and I wore them almost daily for a couple of years. Versatile and match almost anything.

These boots look great

I love these boots!! Classic and comfortable. A little clunky to get on and off though but it's just because they're so tall.

I ordered these in a 7. I’m anywhere from a 7 or 7.5, depending on the shoes. Because these are steel toe boots, it felt bigger than a 7 and felt kind of clunky, as a result. Quality is there, just didn’t feel right on my feet.

Lots of space for my toes but don't feel too big. Very comfy. I didn't find them too difficult to wear even though they are a little stiff. I just didn't use the top 2 rows of lace holes. Got many compliments on these!

Nice tough looking boot. A little rough to break in, but it was worth it. Classic stylish Doc look with the big bump of the steel toe!
