My review - I love my docs . I started wearing them this winter and I love the way they look. The only thing is that you should wear a high sock when you wear them for the first time--I did not, and my heel got hurt. Other than that, I broke them in and they felt great. I wear a size 8 but got these in a 7 because they fit me a whole size bigger. They are great because they're closer to my calfs so my legs stay warm, and overall this is a wonderful shoe.

I love this shoe. First of all Zappos.com is the best place to buy shoes. Shipping is fast and free. Secondly, Dr. Martens are wonderful. After a few days I broke my pair in and now they are very comfortable. If you are looking to buy a boot you have to choose Dr. Martins.

love them - They last and last forever! My son has wore these boots for the last 9 years because they are so comforable. They are the only boots he will wear. They last appr. 1 1/2 to 2 years with everyday wear, to include working. Thanks Dr. Martens for a great produce.

I own two pairs 1460. Just bought 1490, great fit and great looks. I also like my 6 eye black greasy. A true DOC fan.

Doc's Rock - What a fantastic pair of boots. I have worn Doc's since I was 15 (27 years ago) and I don't want to wear anything else. I have worn 8, 10, 14 and 20 hole Docs, but my boots are the black 10 eye ones. They are fabulously comfortable, look superb and last for ages. If you haven't had a pair of Doc's you haven't lived. Buy some today.

I bought these boots for protection on my motorcycle. They are of high quality and they look really good. Zappos - order shoes from them! They are one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. They were quick to get my order out and they shipped my boots next day air.

I had never owned a pair of combat boots but I admired the look and I was updating my wardrobe. I had dubious expectations about the comfort factor, as I have totally flat arches and wear an 11B. I knew Doc Martens were respected though, and I read a slew of positive reviews, so I ordered a pair of 11s. I also ordered a pair of the insoles due to the fact I have a narrow foot and the boot only has half an insole. That turned out to be a good move. The fit is good, the boots look even better than I thought, and the compliments keep rolling.

This is an excellent boot. It feels great and wears for a very long time. Good value.

Great shoes and an even better price.

These run large with totally flat foot beds - no arch support or additional cushioning. Zappos' price on shoes are good, but accessories (Doc's footbeds, wonder balm, waterproofing) are significantly more expensive.

I first ordered the cherry red color and the color is a bit more eccentric than I could handle, so I sent those back and almost immediately a day later, I had a black pair at my door. The return is easy. The customer service was actually pretty good (not company writing this!). I've worn these for about 100 hours worth. The break in was a day. At first the leather and sole squeak bad, but since their leather(?) they will still minor squeak when you shift your legs and what not (it makes that leather sound everyone around can hear). They scuff & scratch real easy. The toes are already all scratched up. I'm moderately hard on shoes and I presume they'll last about 6-12 months till their unwearable. The sole is pretty flat if you have arched feet, but the gel shock soles are rather nice on heel pain. Oh, and the laces included are 100% too short.

I ordered the cherry red, love the color. Treat with waterproofer and the color darkens up just a bit; it is very nice. Boots tend to run large and wide, not too wide, just wider than normal. Takes a little breaking in.

I have worn Doc Martens, this style and size, for well over 12 years. I have had four different pairs in that time, and my last has by far been the biggest disappointment. No matter how much I polish and moisturize,they constantly squeak. Not to mention the fact that they are already wearing thin, and a small tear is forming, on the outside of the boot where they crease to have your toe area bend. I am very disappointed as I have never had this problem with my other three pairs. And they are less than a year old. Otherwise, same fit, design, and overall look.

For the price, I expected something much better. The leather is super thin and plastic-y and the whole boot feels and looks cheap. These are a far cry from the Dr. Martens from decades ago before they outsourced their production to other countries. I’d rather get something that will last me years rather than months.

No they're not the same as my 1460 Smooth Green Docs from the mid 90's that were Made In England... but that's ok. They're very comfortable, and while the leather is thinner it is easier to break in. Love the style. The Comfort last used for the styles that are made in China (or somewhere else that isn't England) do run big, I ordered a UK 9 (men's US 10) and they fit perfectly. For reference, I wear a UK 10 (men's US 11) for the Made In England styles.

I got it for my sister. She is size 8-8.5 generally. I got the size 8 and she said it’s still spacious but she likes it because she can wear thick socks. She also said it needs to be broken in.

I've been wearing Dr Martens for over 20 years. I get a new pair every 3 to 5 years. Always fit right, always comfortable and always durable.

Very nice boot, but runs very big! Returning for a size down. Hopefully that does the trick.

Having owned some Dr M's in the past, I was happy to know they are still made the same way they always have been. I'm not sure if the sentimental feelings of wearing them all the time as a teenager made them more comfortable in my mind, but I love wearing them so much and always will. They take a handful of "wears" to break in properly, but once they do, I look for any excuse to wear them. The shoe is made wide, so if you have narrow feet, you might consider some thicker / layers of socks to wear in these.

Love these boots. Comfortable out of the box. A sturdy boot that is still stylish and not clunky looking. Have worn them so far with no problems. Mine felt true to size.

Classic! They do run a little large. I would suggest going to the store and try a few on to get your size. When you know your size all dr martens fit the same.
