Walked, walked, walked in this shoe - I wore these shoes, straight out of the box, in Las Vegas last weekend (not something I would normally recommend, but I got them at the last minute!). These shoes are amazing. They were so comfortable and not a blister or sore spot anywhere on my feet. We walked 'the strip' for 4 days. Not only were they ultra comfortable but they also looked great with shorts, capri pants and even a skirt. They were the only shoe I ended up wearing the whole trip. Excellent purchase!

I love this sandal. I purchased these bc I loved the Naot Rome and was looking for the same quality and comfort and to diversify my style options. I loved the asymmetric strappy look online. Out of the box the fit was tricky. The toe strap was tight and felt a bit awkward. I almost sent them back. They seemed like the kind of shoe that might only fit a certain kind of foot. I wanted to love these, though, so I took some time to wear them around the house to see how/if they would loosen up. After a few go-arounds they seemed to give a little, so I took the risk and took them outside for some extended walking. I definitely blistered up the first couple times I wore them, but then (!) they just broke in. Beautifully. The leather softened and fit to my feet. I now have a comfortable, secure, and funky little sandal. I adore them. I generally wear a 5.5 and ordered the 36. They were worth a little extra work.

Call me persistent or something else but this is my third time trying these. I love the look but just cannot find comfort no matter the size. The leather is too stiff all around, sizing is strange and I have a normal 9.5, medium with foot. I usually order a 10. That didn't work so I did the 9 and that didn't work either. I think I could have dealt with the sizing strangeness if the leather wasn't so, so stiff.

Nice-looking shoes that I really wanted to fit but, alas, they didn't. I have a high instep and, even with the elastic in the upper strap, my foot would not go far enough down for my toe to go into the toe strap. If the shoe came in wide, perhaps that would have helped.

Great shoe - I have Plantar Fasciitis. My Podiatrist recomended this brand of shoe. It fits wonderfully. Supports the arch better than anything I've tried. I spent hundreds of dollars to find a sandal with the kind of arch support I need. Another pair of Naots will definitely be on my Christmas list.

This is my 2nd pair of the exact same Naot sandal. The first pair, purchased a few years ago, took me throughout Europe for several weeks. I had plantar fasciitis going into the trip, bought these, and they actually healed my condition. The slight wedged heel removes just the right amount of pressure off the heal of the foot. The footbed is quite comfortable, I can walk all day in these sandals. I am size 8 and the 39 fits perfectly. Somebody with a wide foot might find these too narrow, my foot is average width and they fit fine. They are comfortable right out of the box. The leather is deceiving. It feels like it might be hard but put them on, they don’t feel anything but perfect. Never a blister, not on these or the first pair I bought. The toe area takes about 5 minutes to get use to and then you don’t notice it. I love Naot, they really are the only brand of shoe that I find comfortable. This is probably my 10th pair of this brand.

The Monterey is the first Naot shoe I bought - back in 2002. I normally hate thongs, or anything between my toes. But somehow, these felt great, and the way my foot was balanced by the Naot footbed - wow. I could stand, walk and teach in these all day and not be tired. I think this is a very sharp looking style and am glad they still make it, because my original pair gave up after hiking up steep hills with them when I had forgotten to bring appropriate footwear! But they took years to get to the worn out point. This strap design helps my foot to stay in place on the shoe. (I have one other high Scandinvavian Naot, the Lugano model and in that one, my foot slips around and they do not feel so great. The Monterey actually adds to my available energy. That is good design! There is not necessarily a bump under the arch, but somehow, the shoes are designed to support the foot over all. My foot is medium wide, size 9, with a high instep.

Soles from Heaven - I LOVE NAOTs and this is another style to love. Unlike most sandals, you don't have to grip with your toes to keep these on. The big toe loop is a perfect size and all the straps keep these on your feet, at a good pace, without a worry of losing one behind. I love the soft, cushiony insole so much, they could almost be slippers!

Naot Monterey - I wore these shoes right out of the box to my retail job. After six hours of standing on my feet, I could have danced the night away!! These shoes are worth every penny!

This summer, I walked all through Europe in these shoes and didn't have ANY pain from my plantar's fasciitis. It was as if wearing these shoes healed my foot. I bought these two months ahead of the trip to make sure they were going to work. I had a bit of trouble with one of the toe straps pushing into my toe and it took a few weeks for me to get used to it. Other than that these were a godsend. I am a perfect size 8, not wide or narrow and the 39 fit me perfectly. I also bought a pair of Mephisto's but these were by far the better pair to wear for doing a lot of walking.

Cannot believe I found it! Have been hunting for this style. Bought one just like this years ago and still wearing it. Wore it all over Europe, all our Cruises and my feet and legs never felt tired. So, comfortable! Everyone should get one.I'm getting another!

I bought this shoe about 3 years ago, and I'm going to buy it again, even though my first pair is still great. I don't ever want to be without this pair of sandals - they're comfortable and good looking. They're the only pair of shoes I've ever owned that don't get kicked off at the end of the day, because I literally forget that I'm wearing them. The bed is so well conformed to my feet, and the arch support is perfect. When I wear them, I never have any foot or ankle fatigue. I just love them!

COMFORT PLUS GOOD LOOKS - I love these shoes. I have a little wider foot and am unable to wear many regular shoes. These fit great, I could walk in them all day, and they don't look too casual. My feet hurt me with most shoes and these feel great!!!

I bought these for a trip to Dallas and received them the day before I left. I have nerve damage from a surgery and my Dr. told me to buy well made shoes, as walking causes me pain. They were so comfortable I thought I finally thought I found a shoe I could walk in for hours. I have very narrow feet and have a hard time finding sandals that fit me. I wouldn't recommend these to people with narrow feet. I had a hard time keeping them on. After wearing them I found they were a good half to full size larger than my foot and the straps were too "tall" for my foot. Don't get me wrong, these are high quality and well made shoes. I will be giving them to my sister, whose feet are wider than mine. All in all, great shoes.

This is the most comfortable sandal I have. It is so soft inside, and it supports my foot well.

Just as I hoped - A nice shoe for looks and comfort. Goes great with jeans and skirts. I was able to walk in them on a shopping excursion, and then throw a casual dress on with them for the evening.

Naot Monterey - Although I had to buy this shoe in one size smaller than my usual size, Zappos made the exchange easy. I bought these shoes in brown and black. They are incredibly comfortable and look very stylish. I'm sure they will look terrific with all of my summer clothing, from shorts to capris to dresses. I would like to see more styles of Naots in size 4 in the future from Zappos!

Naot Monterey - I have several spinal cord and back problems. This is the only sandal I have been able to wear in many years. I had hoped to wear it forever (a new pair each year) and now I find they are being discontinued. I sure hope Naot reconsiders it's decision to end the best shoe I have ever placed upon these aching feet and pain filled back.

My favorite shoes ever! This shoe is a winner. I bought a pair a couple of years ago and wore them with everything. My dog loved them too, apparently, and chewed the leather off one. Despite the steep price, I immediately went online to Zappos to order another pair. I can walk for days in these and never feel pain in my feet or my knees. They support every part of the foot and make walking a pleasure. In addition to comfort, they are just gorgeous, and I've had a multitude of compliments on their distinctive good looks.

Monterey by Naot - Put shoes on as soon as I got them and immediately they fit so comfortably. Will buy another pair in Brown.

Comfortable - This is my first NAOT and it is the most comfortable sandal I have ever worn. I purchased it in June, 2003 and I have worn it almost every day since. I just recently ordered another pair of NAOT shoes for the fall.

Alison - These are the most comfortable sandals I've owned -ever! Brought 3 pairs of shoes on a recent trip to France and only wore these.

When I first got the shoes I loved them the fit was great excellent arch support. But after I wore them oh I would say 2 -3 months they stretch out so much I could not keep them on my feet I walked out of them. So I would say when you but them you should buy a size small if you want to wear them longer than a few month.

I usually will only keep a shoe if it fits comfortably because of my bunions. I allow no “break in” period. These shoes felt almost perfect right from the start...no bunion discomfort at all. That being said… I had read other reviews that complained about the leather being hard. The leather is a bit stiff. But the only place where that gave me minor discomfort was at the thong area, right between the big and second toes. I say minor because I put them on immediately...right out of the box and wore them the entire day. The second day (today) I decided to try something to soften the thong area a bit. I put Vaseline between the two toes before putting on the shoe. I’ve been wearing the shoes all day and they feel fine. I will continue using the Vaseline for a few more days. I love the shoe...and am happy that I took a chance on these.
