I already have this shoe in black and find it very comfortable. I decided to get it in the brick red to add a little pop of color to my mostly black wardrobe. I love the color - it's great for fall ( I live in Northern California where you can wear sandals into November). I got my black pair two years ago and some reviewers have said the shoe is cut differently, but these felt great right out of the box. When I ordered these I also got replacement insoles for my black pair which makes them feel almost brand new. I also have the Ardisia style which has the same upper as the Rome but a different sole. These are my "go to" shoes for easy, slip on comfort. I wish they were a little more stylish - I recently tried to break in some Birkenstocks and found that they were simply too uncomfortable and I couldn't keep wearing them despite the fact that they are "cool" again (at least in my area). I can wear the Naot Rome shoes all day.

too narrow for my feet

Bought a pair of these several years ago, like 8 years ago, and they still are my go to shoes. Recently wore them walking 6 miles on a city tour. LOVE THEM! Like that you can change out the cork liner to different colors when they start to wear out. As the underside of the cushioned leather top was starting peel, I bought the same size and color shoes again. They are not the same. Much narrower this time around. Ordered a size bigger, just to see if they were wider, but they weren't. I will try to break break them in and see if they will stretch. If you don't have a high arch or a wide foot, these shoes are fabulous!

The size was right, and it was comfortable. The top of the shoe was too pointed and looked funny. If it had been more rounded, I would have kept them.

The navy color is gorgeous and I’ve received many compliments on these shoes. They are a bit tight in the width (I wear a medium) and took a while to stretch out. after stretching through a few days of wear, they’ve become very comfortable. This is my first pair of Naots. I’ll try more because the arch support is great and the quality is high.

I had 2 pair of these in the past & absolutely loved them. My feet grew, so I wanted to replace them. I ordered both 41 & 42. The polar sea color is fabulous! They are super comfortable - except the very rear of the upper was really pokey. I compared it to my old Romes. The liner on my old Romes completely covers the stitching. On both pairs of the new ones there was one exposed stitch at the back on each side that poked into the back of my feet. Size-wise, I could use a 41.5. The 41 was a bit too short and narrow (width would have stretched.) The 42 was a bit too long (tolerable), but also a bit too wide. Great travel shoe. Sadly, I didn't love them enough to keep them this time.

I won’t pretend that these are the most attractive shoes in the world, but they are extremely comfortable!

Hi. I posted an earlier review after I had just received the Naot Rome sandals, saying they were super comfortable and beautiful. Which they were. However, I wore them outside to an event that lasted 2 hours this weekend, where I was mostly standing, and developed quite serious ball of the foot pain. My usual plantar fasciitis was not an issue; I can't return them so I ordered and will try some gel inserts I tried my orthotic but that made the ball of foot issue worse as my orthotic is less thick than the Naot foot bed, and sits lower in the shoe and as a result the shoe was also too loose. Fingers crossed that an insert will work, as these sandals are comfortable around the house, and quite pretty.

These shoes fit perfectly, are very comfortable and the beautiful blue leather is soft. However, due to the heel height I have now reserved them for occasions that don't require much walking. I probably shouldn't have kept them, but they are comfortable on my bunions.

Love the way the shoes looked, but had to send back the size I normally wear and go up to the next size to get it to fit my wide feet. Normally can do a medium width, but I think the Naots run narrow

If cost is no option, these are great shoes. I am searching for a red sandal for this summer. I need it have good arch support, be able to be worn with skirts and shorts, and I don't like anything between my toes. This sandal is the BEST one I've tried. But, it is a bit heavy. For the price, I just couldn't "make do". If it goes on sale, this shoe will come home with me! (Please, please, please let it go on sale!) Order a size larger than usual. It was even two sizes larger than my Naot boots from this fall. (note: the sandal costs twice as much as the boots did)

I own the Naot Rome sandal in 4 colors- polar sea blue, black, rumba and buffalo. Although the rumba pair is comfortable and stylish, it does not hug my feet like the other 3 colors. My feet move around a little more than I would like. I am an educator and work on my feet all day. I work in several different schools, some of which have concrete or hard tile floors. Therefore, it is critical that I wear shoes of quality everyday. The rumba sandal does not hug my feet to the level I would prefer, but it does provide good, overall support and prevent foot fatigue for me.

Very comfortable..Runs a little smaller..I had to order up a size

I really, really wanted this shoe. But even sizing up a full size, it was too narrow for my foot to fit properly inside. I suppose my feet are on the wider side of average, but I do not wear a wide shoe. So pay attention to the reviews saying this shoe runs narrow.

The good: The dark blue leather is really lovely, with a faint pearly sheen. Navy/deep blue leather shoes, especially sandals, can be hard to find. Naot is one of the few European comfort brands that offers many styles in deep blue shades. I've had several other pairs (not sandals) with this same sole, and it wears like iron. I like that it isn't too high and has a wide heel for stability. The not-so-good: I had to go up two sizes because my fourth toes rubbed uncomfortably against the stitching around the edge of the footbed. Fortunately, the vamp is lower and tighter than on some other models, so my feet stay secure. Here's hoping it doesn't stretch a lot! I normally wear a 38, sometimes a 39 if the shoe is narrow. In this model, I had to buy a 40. My feet are a bit wide, especially my left foot.

I had a very similar pair a few years ago that I wore so much the leather pulled out. Obviously, I loved them. I really wanted this shoe to work for me, and it almost did. Unfortunately, the fit just wasn't quite right. I am usually a 39 or 40 and I bought the 40. It seemed to fit overall, but there were a couple of spots that rubbed where my foot was slightly touching the edge of the foot bed. I couldn't tell if breaking them in would make it go away, but for $145, I didn't want to take any chances. I might try one size up and see if that is okay, but I suspect it will be too big.

Gorgeous shoe! Well made, great quality materials, more "finished" looking than many Naots, comfortable foot bed. By the way, I believe the footbed lining is meant to be removable on most Naots. It seemed comparable to my other Naots, so is likely a fantastic walking shoe. Too bad it was the wrong shape for my foot. I ordered my usual size in Naots (39). But the length was too long at my big toe, too short at my little toe (it was hanging off the front of the shoe), and too narrow at the mid-sole (the side of my foot pooched out of the side-opening). For reference, my feet are a size 7 or 7.5, narrow at the heel, wide near the toes, short toes, high instep. Oh well can't win 'em all!

Last year I bought these and this year I bought Wolky Cloggy Sandals. The Wolkys are about ten times more comfortable. These are better looking. The thing is, I usually buy a wide shoe if I can. People on this website said they have wide feet and these fit them. However, when I wear the shoe my pinky toe rubs against the shoe and it starts to burn pretty fast. Otherwise, the footbed is very comfortable. And if I want to wear something that looks better, I would definitely choose this shoe over the Wolkys which are a little ugly but so comfortable you don't care.

The Naot Rome sandal seems to be well made and nicely cushioned. However for a small, 4.5 size, the vamp and the sides that reach back towards the heel is too wide and didn't touch my foot. In other words there was a gap between my foot and the sides of the sandal. Since these are not adjustable they didn't work for me. If you have a wide foot these might work for you.

Well, the shoes themselves are gloriously comfortable. I really wanted to keep them. But the color, which is theoretically "latte brown leather," is actually a pale beige. If you want to see what color these really are, look at the Naot Ardisia. The picture of those in "latte brown leather" is accurate to the real color of these "Rome" ones. I need a brown sandal, so I'll have to return these beige sandals. Sad because they are so comfy and true to size.

cute, nice foot bed, but very wide. I normally wear medium/B 7 (38) or 7 1/2. If your feet are a normal width they will not fit.

I love Naots, and have many, many pairs of sandals, booties, etc. My feet don't like this sandal. it hurt my right big toe immediately. I think its the way the slant is in the platform, because I have some platform Naots that are totally comfortable. I don't believe in breaking in shoes, I'm always sorry if I think they will feel better after wearing them for weeks, so I'm returning them!

The shoe is well made in the perfect color, however I discovered that Naot runs small. The width is fine, but length too short. This is the second pair I've had to return. Unfortunately, there will be no more Naot for me.

Very comfortable. Don't like the shiny leather. Wasn't expecting that. Returned.
