great boots - I am 6'4, weigh about 375lbs, and was going through shoes in 6 months or less. Before these boots, the soles of my feet used to hurt for a half hour every morning when I woke up. Not anymore. The soles on the docs are all they're touted to be! Look great too.

Bad A** Work Boot - These are bad mutha's. I've had them 3 years. I bought them for work and they're great; very comfortable. They look good to wear out on the town as well... I even have them on now...

Wicked Work Boots - I've owned all sorts of work boots and sneakers for construction. It's very hard to find a boot that is fairly comfortable to wear AND worthy of the demands fo a job site from start to finish. Although these shoes are a bit heavy (Hey, you wear any kind of steel toe for 10+ hrs a day, they all get heavy), they still feel comfortable at the end of the day. And afterwards, even with the wear and tear of a jobsite, I still wear these things when I go out sometimes! If you work and worry about your toes getting smashed, buy these boots. You won't be disappointed.

Great boots. This boot is the best work boot I've ever found. I used to work in a truck tire shop and was going through boots about every 6 months, until i bought a pair of these. I think I spilled just about every kind of oil, grease and liquid on them and they took it. They even stood up to calcium chloride (a salt water mix used for ballast in tires). The soles are non-slip, non-marking, which is a bonus. The only complaint is the toes do have a tendancy to wear through sometimes, but a good shoe repair shop can fix that. Bottom line these are the best boots I've ever owned and ever will own.

Style and Safety. I bought these boots specifically because I wanted a steel toe due to the fact I was going to be clearing land. My other Doc's were so comfortable I figured these should be too! I was right on both counts, EXTREMELY comfortable for a work boot, and the steel toe (a foot saver). While cutting I had a number of logs, limbs, etc. clip my boots, including a 500lb piece of palmetto that rolled on the toe. Absolutetly no injuries or bruises...... These are great shoes!

Fantastic. WONDERFUL! They feel like you're walking on air. They look great and feel even better. Get some, you won't regret it. Shipping took exactly one week from California to Alabama.

Super!!! These shoes are wonderful, like I'm walking on air. They hold tight to my foot, yep my toes have plenty of room due to the steel toe. The leather is very soft, and comfy. A great buy!

This is an excellent workboot, and the composite toe keeps them feeling light. I work on my feet all day and on concrete on top of it all. They feel great and the only thing that they can do to improve on this model would be to add a strap on the back to help pull them on.

With the exception of the concern for the soft sole, which is yet to be proven, these boots are nice. They are comfortable and I have yet to encounter a blister after walking all day in them and dropping stuff on it. I even wear them to the gym just incase my 80 lb free weights in each hand slip during military presses. The toes are wearing a bit after a month and half, but these boots are made to look scuffed. The best boots I have yet to see. This is my first pair of Docs, and I am now a Doc man for life.

Seem to fit well and are fairly comfortable if a bit stiff. I'm on my feet 12 hours a day at work so I need comfort! No seams on the inside to irritate. Toe box is roomy, essential in a steel toe. Zappos is a great place to shop with their free returns. I made a mistake the first time around and ordered the wrong boot. Thanks!

Not-so-tough leather - I bought these boots for my boyfriend last Christmas in black. He wore them for two weeks and the metal toe started tearing through. We returned them and got the brown which have held up much better! In the year that he has worn them they are getting a little thrashed. I have never seem someone be that hard on a pair of boots. Looks like I'll be buying him this same boot every year at Christmas. This boot is so far the toughest boot I have seen that can stand up to my boyfriends vigorous day to day work! I am sure these boots would last a lot longer if he was a little easier on them.

A little pricey, but nice - These boots are nice, they look good and for a boot, they feel pretty good too. The price is a bit steep, but all Doc Martens cost an arm and a leg. You won't be disappointed.

Work-boot nirvana? I had high expectations of this boot. I have a slightly wide, big foot (13w or 14), with fairly high arches (can you say hard to fit?). I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Martens, so I decided to give these size 14 boots a try after my work sneakers failed miserably. I wear these guys all day every day of the work week. The width is just bairly adequate for my foot, while the length is a bit much. The extra width combined with the steel toe almost gives these boots the "clown shoe" look (I said almost). I had to get a Dr. Scholl's work boot insert to get the arch support right. Cushioning is adequate, not quite what I expected from the descriptions of their "World Famous air cushioned sole." As far as the style goes (as if you would be concerned about style in a steel toe!), my uber-cool buddy's exact quote upon seeing these boots was "Wow... these are beautiful!" Whatever, man.

Nicely made boot, but still can't wear them. Looking at the back of the boot you see a couple of cushioned rolls that are also rolled on the inside of the boot. These push against the back of my ankle and actually had me limpng by the end of the day.

Ordered these November 2010 and when they arrived they appeared to be very nice boots other than the fact they are made in China, but this month the sole started to separate and I contacted Dr. Martens and they said I had to fill out a paper online then wait for them to mail me a RA form so I could send the boots in, only to have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for them to see if it was quality issue or wear and tear. These boots say "Industrial" on them which could not be farther from the truth. If you need steel toe work boots, stay away from these as they do not last any longer than Walmart boots.

I bought these 4 months ago. I am a fat guy. 6'3" 330lbs. You don't slide in very easy, there is no strap on the back to aid in pulling them on. The toe leather gets cut fairly easy. That is not very important to me though. They look cool which is one of the reasons I wanted to try them. I wouldn't buy another pair though. They are a lot heavier than the boots I've previously owned. The biggest problem I have is no arch support. Maybe it's cause I'm large but the sole under the arch on one has cracked and started to separate a little. They are 4 month's old. Within the first month I got leg and foot pain after sleeping and sitting for a while. Symptoms point to Plantar fasciitis comes from a lack of arch support. I'm in these boots 60 or 70 hours a week. They look awesome but I will be buying another brand next time.

I usually don't have a problem with any boot, but this is by far the worst boot that I have ever purchased. I will never buy another Dr. Martens product. They were way heavy, uncomfortable, and just generally crappy to wear. Am still trying to break them in to get some use out of them.

Boots literally fell apart after a month of wearing them to work, sole seperated below the threaded portion, no issue with zappos the people are great. However I have noticed that Dr. Marten's quality has dropped over the past years. I would only by Docs exclusively however I know longer waste my money on them.

Bad Quality & Fit - This is the third pair of DM's that I have bought from Zappos. While this is the last pair of DM's I will buy, I will continue to shop other brands on zappos.com as the service at Zappos is top notch. This has been the first pair of DM's I have bought in over 10 years and the quality is no longer what it once was. These two pairs of 8836 began to break down with less than a week's worth of use. This WAS NOT a fit issue, since I ordered a size 12 and size 11 and kept the 11 since I almost fell out of the size 12's since they were so large. Additionally, the right shoe ribbed a blister the size of a dime on my right heel and my feet were so sore in the morning that I could barely get out of bed. Shop Zappos with total confidence in their service, but run from DM's like it was the plague!

The shoes were very comfortable, but the sole came apart after one night of work. They were only wore for restocking shelves. Maybe I just got a bad pair, Hopefully I will be able to return them for a new pair.

The best boots I've ever owned - These boots are fantastic, as long as you're not in the sun. (They do get a bit warm.) They're durable, comfortable, and look and feel great. I typically wear a W's size 8 in boots, or a 7.5 in all others, but I decided to go for a size 7 and they fit perfectly. Ordering with Zappos has been a pleasure also.

Great Boots! I work in an industrial battery warehouse. These shoes have saved my feet from falling objects to splatters of acid going all over them. And these shoes never miss a beat! Totally the most comfortable shoes I own. I will wear them till they fall off my feet and then order another of the same model! Totally worth the price!

Great Boots - I have always, well since I was a teenager many years ago, worn Doc Martens. This pair is no exception! They are very comfortable (I am on my feet all day), and if past experience is anything to go by will last quite a while. And as always Zappos got them to me promptly and with no hassle. I am very pleased!
I'd also recommend:
None. Doc Marten's are the best bar none.
