I have had plantar fasciitis for 9 years. These are the shoes/sandals I wear when I come home. They have the perfect arch support and heel support for troubled aching feet. They also come in narrow which I need. They are the only sandal I can wear.

Size guide for small(er) feet: I am a true 6½ and I took the advice of another fellow 6/6½ Birkenstock wearer and ordered this style and the Boston style in size 36. They fit absolutely perfectly. I tried on the 37 at Nordstrom and they were too big. Not a little big, but a whole size big. I also ordered the Birkenstock Boston in 36. For reference, here are my sizes in these particular brands: Nike Air Max 2009 & 2014 (size 6), Nike Free Run 2.0 and 4.0 (size 6½), J. Crew Heels (size 6½), Saucony Mirage running shoes (size 6½), Dansko clogs (size 37). I really hope this helps with a size guide for small(er) feet!

Ok, I almost ordered these shoes about 3 hours ago, and I was trying to decide between a 38 and a 39, since I am always in between a 7.5 and an 8. I would say that I'm an 8 about 60% of the time, and 7.5 about 40% of the time. The only other size I have ever worn is 8.5 in some high-end designer shoes. I had no idea what to do with these, so I decided to actually go try them on somewhere. Well, I just did that and I am a perfect 37, which is 6-6.5 in US sizes. So I would recommend ordering a full size or size and a half down. I just had to come back on here and share this as a public service. :-) As for style, this is my first pair of Birkenstocks and I kind of wish they were somehow narrower, but then I guess they wouldn't be super comfortable. Can't win them all! The other interesting thing is that I completely intended to buy the white patent leather ones, and then when I got there I loved the antique lace ones. They look a little pink in this picture, but in real life they are sort of warm pearlescent. Ok, good luck everyone!

My very first pair of Birkenstocks and it was love at first fit! I decided to buy the Gizeh because it's very stylish and looks great with skinny jeans or maxi skirts/dresses. The fit is so comfortable that the moment I tried it on out of the box, I knew immediately I wanted a another pair so I hopped onto Zappos.com and bought a second pair in the Licorice color. The color I have on right now is the Golden Brown and it's a nice, toned down bronze shade. It's not overly metallic; a very tasteful, gorgeous neutral with just enough pizzazz. As far as the sizing and fit, I am a true 6.5 M, normal arch, and I chose the 36 Regular width. A perfect fit!

My husband bought these for me and I was apprehensive since I am not typically a Birkenstock girl -- but I love these -- the color is different but neutral, they are easy to get on and off and very comfortable. I wore the ones my husband gave me out and bought another pair!

I love these shoes! This is the 3rd pair of Gizeh sandals I have purchased - they take a little breaking in, but they are so worth it. I wear them all summer for casual wear - they are supportive and cute, while being comfortable for walking or just whatever I'm doing. They last a long time too, with almost constant wear.

Like other reviews, I'm pretty happy that Birkenstocks are coming back in fashion. These are well made, supportive, and just feel really nice on the feet. They were a bit stiff the first few days, but after breaking them in, they feel perfect and are a wonderful summer sandal that I know won't fall apart after the season ends. All the colors, too, are awesome.

So comfy! Unfortunately they were too big so I had to return the, but I already ordered the right size. Can't wait to wear them around Disney World! Perfect arch support for my crazy high arches.

Stylish, yet comfortable. Purchased during last trimester of pregnancy for arch support with some style. I wear them almost everyday!

This is a great sandal! As with any Birkenstock, there is a 'break in' period where the shoe feels uncomfortable. After just a few days, these sandals felt great. I wear them for several hours a day and find that they actually help your feet feel better; my feet and legs will typically feel fatigued at the end of the day in other shoes, but not these. The only thing negative I have noticed is that the strap that goes over the top of your foot (with the buckle) has started to fray a bit where the strap rubs up against my foot. But I am a pretty active in these shoes, so it's probably just me!

I am a Zappos addict! I just got my third pair of Gizehs! Golden brown ones this time. I absolutely love them! I have had the silver and black patent ones for years. If you are tired of non supportive flip-flops, these you will love. The support is superb and the Gizeh is so stylish. This comes from an atypical Birkenstock wearer too. As opposed to others I feel like they are true to size, especially if you know your European size. Give them a try!

These sandals are awesome. I bought 15 pairs of shoes from Zappos, looking for brown sandals, and these were the winners! I have to wear good supportive shoes due to plantar fasciitis and other foot issues. I can wear these shoes and my feet feel great. There is a little bump that goes under the toes that seems odd. But, in no time, your feet gets used to it and you do not even know that it is there (and that probably helps with support?). The strap is adjustable and helps to fit the sandals nicely. My feet run narrow and these shoes do not fall off at all. The length is true to size, where other shoes that I tried seemed a little short. I really love these shoes! Thanks, Zappos, for allowing me to find the right ones!

I love these shoes and look for any excuse to wear them. I got the white Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flors and am so grateful to have shoes that do right by my feet and are also chic (the white is chic). You'll quickly get used to the thicker plastic thong. I wear size 7 and Birkenstock says that makes me a 38. But I tried on some Gizehs in a store and found I'm a 37. So, if you're an even size, you might consider ordering a size down.

Best fun walkable thong ever. So much better than a flip flop. My feet don't hurt after wearing them all day.

Runs true to European size of similar shoes. Gorgeous summer sandal in hard to find true white for this style. Good support, great fit. Very flat --less net heel elevation than the picture shows from the side-- and less heel elevation than a similar brand of flat of this style.

Great shoes. Super comfy. I have worn them every day since I got them (about 3 weeks). They run a little big. I usually wear a size 7, and the size that corresponds to 6-6 1/2 fit perfectly. I had to exchange the bigger size I ordered first, and the exchange through Zappos went very smoothly.

Love! This is my 3rd pair and they are so comfy during the warm/hot months. I am a runner/triathlete so my feet need to be supported and Birks get the job done.

Love these!! This is my second pair and they are fabulous. I wear them all the time from when I wake up until I go to bed (unless work forces me into other shoes). They are great for your feet and back. For those concerned about the rubber between your toes- you shouldn't feel it at all so if you are order a size down. I should be a 41 according to the size chart but have two pairs of 40s that work perfectly. Once you get the right size you will love them.

Actually loved these. Bought 2 styles of Birkenstock for traveling. The other style I hate...rubs in all the wrong places. Worried about the "thong" on this one, but it was actually fairly easy to break in, comfortable footbed and I think will work well for walking around ports of call.

Love this style, which suits me better then the Arizona. Super comfortable, I'm a size 11 and the 42 fits perfectly. Love it so much, I got two colors.

I love these shoes! Once you break them in, they are so comfortable and supportive, not to mention stylish. Like others have mentioned, the toe bar takes some getting used to, but once you wear them for a week or so the shoes mold to your feet and fit perfectly. I only wish I could afford another color.

I love these and would totally recommend them. I got these three days ago and I've been very pleased with them. I had been looking at them and finally bought them because my Crocs were getting too sweaty and I needed something cool and comfy for a family trip I was taking. I didn't get them in time to really properly break them in, but it went well and I was very comfortable in them even with all the walking on day two. I am already starting to save for a second pair, but I may try another style...just for fun. My husband picked these because he liked the style the best, but I'm curious about a couple other styles and am ready to try those. I had to adjust the buckle on these twice so far; I had them right where the instructions tell you to have them on the first day (able to wiggle a finger between strap and foot) and then had to tighten them one more time on day two. They don't make that slapping noise that so many flip flops do because of how far the strap comes up on your foot and felt so comfy even after a whole day on my feet chasing my kids around a children's museum.

My fourth pair of Gizehs! I love these sandals so much, and live in them whenever it's warm enough. I have high arches and these are so comfortable. I realized a few years ago that they're way better for my feet than sneakers, even, so when I go for long walks I wear these instead. I always wear them to travel, and I've walked up to 10 miles in them without any foot pain. For someone like me, this is amazing! Of course, they're also pretty cute! Gizehs forever!

Fabulous item. I love these. Every few years, after wearing them into the ground, I get a new color. Half sizes should get larger size, item runs wide -- I have a wide foot. Great arch support. Rewards breaking in so that you shape it to your own foot. Gets better with time and changing colors keeps it fresh!

Love these! It took a day or so to get used to the toe piece and it helps if they fit right - toe shouldn't be jammed up against it. Very comfortable and supportive.
