I'm pretty much always an 8.5, occasionally have to size up to a 9, but the 39's fit perfectly. The plastic piece between my big & second toes hurt a little and caused a little blister the first 2 times I wore these (I wore them all day), but quickly broke in and they're super comfortable now. The Licorice Birko-Flor looks like leather (not metallic as it might appear in the picture) and is very comfortable against my foot. Great purchase and upgrade (in style and quality) from my Rainbows! As always, I appreciate the quick shipping and return process from Zappos (I ordered in 2 sizes to ensure a great fit).

This is my first Birkenstock purchase and I am very happy. I bought these and the Kairos to compare. I thought I would like the Kairos better as they look a little dressier because of the ankle strap and I also thought they would be more secure on the foot because of that strap. But these are much more secure. No noisy clomping and flapping like some flip flops. The Kairos were loose even when tightened. I think it is because the buckle is on the ankle, there is no way to adjust the straps over the foot. Whereas this these, the buckle is across the foot so you can get a better fit. The toe post on the Kairo was not as comfortable as on these. And another odd thing is that the leather piece attached to the toe post is larger on the Kairo and hits at an odd place on the big toe. You notice it when walking. So these Gizeh Birko-flors are the winners -- The footbed is very comfy right out of the box. I haven't done a lot of walking in them yet so it remains to be seen how they are after a long day, having never worn Birkenstocks before, maybe there is an adjustment period, but so far so good. I am a size 9 and seem to usually wear a 39 Euro but sometimes 40. In these the 39 is perfect. I bought the licorice as I wanted a black but these seemed a little more interesting that the plain black. I like them, kind of a dark gunmetalish color. I'm glad I chose this color.

Just like the time before, and the time before that...I love them. I normally wear 6.5-7.0 shoes but wear size 36 which Birkenstock calls a 5.0-5.5.

I take back every time I've made fun of Birkenstocks. These are hands down the comfiest sandals I've ever owned, and they look great too. The "antique lace" color is beautiful and slightly shiny, almost pearly. I was initially concerned about the synthetic Birko-Flor material (would it get sweaty? would it look like plastic?), but it is in fact very supple and the underside is soft (note: I tried on the leather Gizeh, and it looks and feels amazing in the way that only genuine leather can. They are pricier, however). The foot bed was comfy from the get-go, and it has only gotten better with wear. I have been wearing these every day since I got them. I will probably end up getting another pair (in leather) down the line.

Love these! I haven't taken them off since I started wearing them out of the box. I used to get back pain from wearing flimsy sandals during the Spring and Summer. These, however, adjust and mold to your foot curves making them a great fit. I am usually a size 8-8.5/39 and ordered a 38/7-7.5 and they fit well. I would definitely order a size down from your current size. These are worth the money!

I am usually a size 40 (10) in every shoe. I ordered both a 40 and 41 in this style and kept the 41. The lip on the end of the smaller size rubbed the ends of my toes. I also don't consider my foot to be narrow but I am thin, and the narrow width in these is perfect.

Very disappointed with durability. Was hiking and the front toe of left thong snapped! Returning for a more durable sandal.

I sometimes have heel pain, especially in summer sandals, but not with these. I wear an 8-8 1/2 and have a narrow foot. I sometimes have trouble finding cute, comfy sandals that fit - these in 39 Narrow are perfect!

I have ordered these shoes for my daughter for the past 3 years, they are awesome. They wear well and they fit true to size. It also has great arch support.

Gizeh is the way to go. I wore them through a pregnancy, and I've worn them since. I get one pair and wear them every day, all summer. Great for walking. You can't go wrong with Birkenstocks.

These shoes were the best purchase I ever made! Very cute style for a Birkenstock shoe, very comfortable and excellent arch support. As a person with foot pain, these are a real life saver! Please size down! I am I true size 7 and I ordered the 7 and they were HUGE. I returned them so easy, breezy for a 6 and voila! They are perfect!

The sizing is not true to size. I've had to send to pair back. I normally am a size 8-8 1/2. 39 and 38 were too big. I am not hoping 37 fits.

Great shoes! I wear them as house shoes in the warmer months. They offer great support and my feet feel happy. The molded footbed took a couple days to adjust to. Initially my toes were achy, but now they feel great. It's actually really helping to spread out my toes, which is so good for foot health and bunion issues.

I usually wear an 8.5 in most shoes, so I ordered the 39 and it was way too long. I easily exchanged the shoe and received the 38 and it was perfect! I love these shoes, so comfy and casual. I ordered the Antique Lace color and it's so nice, light and neutral, it goes with any color of clothing.

Love these! I own them in the white patent leather and thought these would be a dressier version!!! Comfort and stylish! They are perfect in every way!! People actually can't believe they are Birkenstocks!!!!! I ordered a 37 as they tend to run large...

I work on my feet & have for over 20 years. They hurt! I read these shoes could really be good for me. They are my first pair of Birkenstocks. They are a rare shoe that is comfortable ALL DAY. I am very happy with them and will look at this brand for more shoes in the future.

Best shoes ever!!! I have owned Birks for years, but this was my first sandal from them and it does not disappoint!! I just got back from Turkey and Israel and I wore them everyday. I'm going to Europe in a few days and ONLY brought them! BEST SHOES!!

Love the comfort and black color of this shoe. The licorice black has a shine to it making it more girlie. I wear an 8 in all shoes but ordered a 38 regular in this shoe for perfect fit. They are so comfortable and stylish. Love my new Birks and love Zappos for there fabulous customer service and overnight shipping. Wouldn't shop anywhere else.

Absolutely love the comfort and look of these shoes. My Dr. recommended I wear them in place of my flip flops in the summer to support my feet and spine. They are very comfortable right out of the box and look stylish. Love the Toffee color and Black Licorice. I wear an 8 and ordered the 38 regular and they fit perfect.

I love the fit and style of these. I would recommend buying a smaller size than usual. For example, I wear a 10 in women's in most shoes. However, a size 10 can also fit a 10.5 and 11 in Birkenstock sizing. So, I ended up getting a size down (a 40 instead of 41) so my size range ended up being 9, 9.5, 10. Once I got the 40, the fit was perfect. Love them.

I absolutely love these sandals they are the bomb! I had to buy a size down in them since they do run a little bit big. I normally wear a 37 in Birkenstock, but in the Gizeh I wear a 36. They are so cute with maxi skirts and I have bought them in several colors. I would recommend these sandals to anyone. I do have a back problem and I can wear these shoes all day without any discomfort. The toe piece does not bother me either. For people that may not be used to a thick toe piece it may take a while to get used too. I give these sandals five stars all the way!

I injured my knee and needed to find stable shoes to reduce any excess motion on the knee. I bought the Birkenstock Gizeh in Raspberry Wine to wear in the house as slippers as we have slate and ceramic tile floors. These were my first pair of Birkenstock. I didn't like them at first, as they felt stiff and the toe thing bothered me, but after about a week they started to feel really good. Now, after about 2 months of wear in the house, they are so comfortable that I bought a pair to wear outside of the home. (For those I got Onyx and it's a really great gun-metal grey. I absolutely can't wait to get through the breaking in period on this second pair!) Best of all, no knee pain and no lower back pain anymore. If you have the right shoe length, once that break in period is over, they feel excellent. I wear a 7, sometimes a 7.5 and ordered a 38. The shoe is supposed to have a more roomy, boxy fit. I did buy a cork sealant as my slipper pair's edges were starting to get dull. I also purchased a cleaner for the footbed because I didn't like how the leather smelled au naturel. I did see that some people who are hard on the shoe will install heel taps on the backs, and even though I have an aggressive wear pattern, I opted to forego the heel taps, figuring that with the Birko-Flor the price isn't so prohibitive to warrant a new pair if the heel wears down.

I waited a really long time to order these shoes because I tried them on in the store and I felt like they made my feet look wide. I found out they make this shoe in a narrow version and I ordered it with high hopes. The reviews don't lie. These shoes are amazing! They were comfortable right out of the box and the narrow width is perfect of my narrow feet. I did order the shoe in a size down from my normal size. I know these will be my go to shoe this summer.

These are awesome! I had foot surgery 6 weeks ago, and this is the most comfortable shoe! And it's more stylish than the other Birkenstock I have, so I really do like these. Try them!

Absolutely love these shoes! I had Birkenstocks in college and forgot how comfortable they were. And the Gizeh style is way more feminine than the traditional looks. I have worn them several times with cropped pants and they look very cute. And they are so comfortable. They molded to my foot within 2 hours and have been perfect ever since. I highly recommend this sandal for summer. I wear a 9.5 and the 9-9.5 size was perfect.
