Chucks are the least durable shoe I've ever worn; I've owned several pair - a new pair every year, and by that time you need them. Where the canvas joins the sole on the inside rips out very quickly. This is just from normal wear, not just taking them on and off. The front part of toe is glued on and doesn't take too long to start flapping off/tearing off. The part on the side surrounding the sole takes no time to start cracking at the front, where the front of your foot bends. Being constructed out of canvas, if starts to rain even a little, they get wet & stay that way. They take a long time to dry and don't think they'll dry up while you're wearing them either. They look great but are so poorly made - I recommend instead buying a more durable shoe, made out of leather or synthetics.

50 something...on my 5th pair My first pair of "CHUCKS" were in the early 60's Besides US Keds they were the only "SNEAKS" around...High tops, low cuts, black, white THAT'S IT!! It's great to have 'em back, in so many colors...Black,Navy, & Red are my choice! In a catolog...EastBay, they even have "Stars and Stripes!!! Canvas rules, no more leather for me!!

You know, I really love converse and I do think I bought these a little too big. However, I’m convinced Converse only look good on short people with small feet. ? unfortunately that’s not me, so I think I’ll stick with my vans. I really tried to like them.

Old Converse - I ordered these shoes for nostalgic reasons. When I put them on I could no help but noticing the enormous advances the shoe industry has accomplished. They are flat and very uncomfortable, compare to today’s shoes. I had to buy a new insole and it did make a big difference. Nevertheless I will buy them again and again just for the fun of having them.

RETURN - We have to return the converse's because my husband said they are too narrow and he isn't crazy about the color style. He likes the old clasic black and white...

Horrible - These shoes look pretty cool but are the worst made shoes I've ever had. The canvas starts detaching from the rubber part after about a week. The little black lining on th white rubber part peels away and the little holes in the side of the shoe pops out. Definetly, do NOT buy this shoes unless you want to waste $40 on a horrible pair of shoes.

You people are obsessed. Converse are okay shoes, but not the best in the world. If you're a fat person, I recommend you not wear them because they look bad on fat people, sorry. Tall and thin people should wear them because they look better in them. But, damn, you people sweat converses too much. See ya.

Ordered a women's 9.5. Box listed the correct size, however the shoes inside were a size 7.5 So frustrating as I even paid extra shipping for a bday gift on time delivery and they are the wrong size.

Horrible. Bought my usual size 9.5 and they were about an inch too long. Went down to 9.0 and still too big. Would have gone down to 8.5 but they don't make them. Went to 8.0 and the length seemed okay. Wore them for a while and realized they were now too narrow. Wore them long enough that I can't return them. Total waste of $60.

These are not the original Cons, they are Nike's Chinese version after they bought the company. Stick length is a half size long, ball girth is tight but the lace to toe upper pattern does allow for adjustability. The insole is rock hard non-existent whereas the originals had a very thick comfortable rubber insole. The biggest problem is the toe box is too low and will irritate the top of your toes unless you have flat feet. Would not recommend for extended wear on hard services since there is absolutely no cushioning, probably best for mowing the grass or for fishing waders. I used to work for Converse and these are definitely not up to the original specifications. Very disappointing product but excellent Zappos service and return policies.

I love this shoe. The only thing is that I wish it would come in a wider width! I'm a dancer and my team always choose this style of shoe to perform in because they look great and it's the classic hip-hop shoe! But I have a wide foot and the style shoe "pinches" my feet across the width of my feet and they 'hurt', they feel numb. As much as I love the shoe I have to look for an alternative or a knock-off simply for the fact that they run wider. Please! I wish for this particular shoe to be offered in widths, please don't lose me and my daughter (who also dances & has a wide feet) as customers.
I'd also recommend:
nike or vans or a generic brand w/wider width!

I love my Converse. I have a pair from 20 years ago. But the ones I got last year fell apart in 4 months. The arch support is not needed if you have strong healthy feet. They are the closest to no shoe feeling besides the five finger shoes.

The way shoes should be! I had never owned a pair of these, but always liked the way they looked. I am old enough to remember when our high school basketball team wore them! I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were the minute I put them on. Absolutely NO break- in period. They don't have any arch, so if you need that, these are not for you; however, I have two knee replacements and they are just fine for me and very, very comfortable. And I STILL love the way they look!!

Why eliminate size 12 1/2 in Chuck Taylor's? I have an old pair of Chuck Taylor's which fit me perfectly at size 12.5. Now they're no longer any 12.5's. 13's don't fit me. After 30 years of wearing high top blacks, I'm given the boot (or rather) not given the boot. The MBA marketing geniuses at work again!

Shoes are shoes! SHOES ARE SHOES! These certainly are not synonomous with any type of music genre! No...they're NOT PUNK! These are NOT skate shoes! They're just butt-ugly shoes from a century ago! These are for geeks that have no taste and that love to be heard!
