Look fantastic, fit about 8/10 as to what I had expected. My biggest complaint is that there is absolutely zero cushioning beneath the ball and toes of the shoe. After awhile, my feet ache just having worn them. And at this point I'm not sure what kind of inserts I can buy that will give me the cushioning my feet require without crowding the shoe to a level of total discomfort.

To my knowledge there are no other major companies that make this type of dress boot anymore. They were very popular when I was a kid in the late 70s and 80s. My brother traveled the country playing rock music and he wore these kind of boots on stage all the time. I am told many still do. I have always thought that they are more dressy than cowboy boots. I do wish Allen Edmonds and Alden still made these. I think many years ago they did. Their boots would be American made and of a better quality than these. I have actually had a black pair that I wear about 1 day a week for about 6 years. The front sole is too thin. Even when they are new they feel like you are walking in your bare feet. When you step on a rock it hurts. If they would put a better sole on these and thicker overall material I could give them a better rating. The reason I give them a good rating is because when you are the only major shoe company left that makes a certain style you get a lot of points just for that in my book. I recommend putting inserts in them to make them more comfortable and don't wear them more than one or two days a week or they will wear out very fast. I think they could make a much better pair of these for around $300, and I would be willing to pay it. You know Allen Edmonds would at least charge that much for them.

The only problem with my 'Dukes' is that their soles are too thin to last more than a few months under normal use . . . nice for Florsheim profits, bad for Florsheim customers!

The destription listed a breathable leather lining. The boots my husband received where of man made material. This I do not like......I find it hard to believe one would take such a short cut on such a nice looking shoe. ????

Please DO NOT ever stop making these boots. I have owned these boots since the 70's and have always liked them and will continue to buy them. They are stylish and generally comfortable. They are a nice all around boot. I have worn them with jeans as well as a 3 piece suit, in casual and dress attire. They fit well either way.
I LOVE 'EM!!!!

This is my husbands favorite kind of dress, casual shoes.the soles seem to wear out first and he wishes it had more cushioning inside. We shopped many stores that carry a limited supply of Florsheim shoes & none had these, therefore I ordered them online.Delivery was prompt
He is very pleased with the shoes.

The 7D is difficult to seat the heal; the side of the leather that is parallel to the heal, folds inward and the heal cannot be seated in the bottom of the shoe; ie.the foot will not settle into the shoe

The shoe is not made to the standard Floresheim
shoes of the past; the soles wear out too quickly and the leather upper appears to be nor all leather; why not make a "leather shoe"? leather has been and still is more comfortable on the feet; the leather on this shoe appears to crack in the creases.
hopefully this helps in designing a better shoe; I don't mind paying for a better quality shoe.
It's noted that the shoes are made in India not in the USA, although that not the issue, quality is the issue.

Classic boot with western heel gives you a little extra height. Before I even wore outside the rubber heel was starting to wear. Got a number of compliments about it.
To avoid wearing out too quickly I plan on wearing just for special occasions.

My only comment is that the soles on your Duke shoe style are way too thin. This makes them stylish, I suppose, but they wear out much too quickly and they are very susceptible to water. Get caught in rain or snow wearing your Dukes, and you better get ready to replace them soon.
If you folks were to put a decent sole (even a Rubber sole) on this shoe, you would be creating an unbeatable value!
BTW, I buy Dukes for their high-heeled design, because those heels promote a posture that takes a great deal of pressure off one of my 68-year old knees. As your demographics will no doubt confirm, I am only one of many who would benefit from similarly designed shoes.

This is a quality piece. It looks good, is light enough and slides easily for dancing.
A bit difficult to put on. I need 2 hands to pull it, but once on it's comfortable. Oh yeah, wear thin socks as the fit is a little tight.

I spent two days hunting for the right pair of shoes for my needs. I wanted to shop with a trusted American shoe company that has been well established. While searching in the boot section, I was happy that Florsheim offered the zipper variety of "Beatle boots" instead of the elastic ones.
Although, I was not thrilled with the color offerings that Florsheim provided for the Duke dress boots, I found that the cognac color was O.K. Luckily, I solved that problem by darkening the boots with Huberd's shoe grease. So, just be warned that when it says cognac, it will look like chestnut or milk chocolate in color, not brown.
As for comfort, I wear these boots everyday at my job. I could not ask for anything more stylish and easy on the feet. They look professional in both my suits and chinos. They also look great with my vintage '70s wardrobe. A perfect shoe for almost every occasion.
If there was something to complain about, it would be only one thing. Florsheim, if y'all are reading this, can y'all match the color of zipper with the leather? I think the black zipper with the boot leather clashes a little.

Imperials used to be available in a "cordovan" color - the 'Cognac" looks more brown. Would like to see the "cordovan" in this boot....I do like the product
