Literally the worst shoe I have ever owned. Zero durability. I will not be buying Deer Stags ever again and don't recommend that anyone else does either. The price is very cheap, but so is the build quality. I owned the Deer Stags for only a couple months, using them very modestly (1-2 times a week), and they started to completely fall apart. The sole started to unglue from the bottom of the shoe along with the brown paint chipping off. It is MUCH more worth it to spend and more money for a very comfortable and durable pair of shoes, instead of spending money over and over.

I have bought these shoes for use at work, several times. The last two pairs broke down within two months. The quality is now unacceptable, at any price.

Inner sole was great. Biggest problem was the outer skin "bubbled" and peeled away in less than a year. I took my shoes to a cobbler for their advice on what could be done to repair the premature wear. This was not a good experience and I am not going to shell out money for a shoe company that cannot get the basics of mass craftsmanship.

We bought these as school uniform shoes for our 12 year old boy. They looked good initially, but we returned them, because after a week, the color flaked off in spots and couldn't be polished or repaired.

I have been a loyal customer of Zappos for a while, and a loyal customer of Deer Stags shoes for considerably longer -- perhaps 15 years or so, I would guess; maybe more. I am saddened to say that Deer Stags has recently cheapened up their shoes considerably. I purchased my most recent pair of Deer Stags "Times" back in December 2009 and only recently started wearing them. Within a few weeks the uppers of both shoes have started “peeling.” It seems that instead of leather uppers, Deer Stags has switched to what looks like felt or a similar material, and covered it with a plastic film to make it superficially look like leather. I wasn't the only one who noticed. I wore them on vacation last week and two people (half-jokingly) commented to me that my shoes were falling apart. They were right, of course, but I don't desire that kind of attention(!). I am in mourning. My formerly favorite brand of shoes now permanently lost me as a customer. Now I have to begin a search for another brand of shoes to be loyal to.
