1st try... New Balance are great shoes. The ones I used to wear W1222 or something of that nature were great but alas they make it no more. I tried these and another pair. These look good but not as comfortable as I thought they would be. Even with my orthotics in place. I am still giving them a try tho... the jury is still out on these.

Lemons? I haven't worn them much yet because when I do my feet hurt. Especially the foot I broke about 13 years ago. That foot hasn't bothered me much over the years, but after a day in these shoes that foot is in so much pain I can barely stand it. I bought these shoes because they were made in the U.S., and had a great comfort rating. Maybe this pair are atypical - lemons - but I am very disappointed. I spent a lot of money because I was sure I would be getting a great pair of comfortable shoes. All I got was severe pain.

Good and bad - The good: very narrow heel, the last is very straight, great for stability, and accommodates an orthotic. The bad: not even a little attractive, the sides are so high they dig into my ankle bone creating pain, and the tongue is so long it hits my ankle creating irritation.

Didn't Like this Shoe - Very Uncomfortable - I bought this shoe to help correct my overpronation problem while running due to my flat feet. I found the shoe to be kind of sloppy in the forefoot as there is excessive room for my foot to move around which bothers me when running (I bought the normal B width). I also found the shoe irritating to my ankles; I'm not sure if something is rubbing when I run or if it's due to the correction of my gait, but my inner ankles have painful, swollen lumps after a long run. I no longer wear these shoes while running, and have since bought a pair of New Balance 766 which I like very much.

I have been a fan of New Balance for years & because I was so happy with my old NB 1122's I ordered the NB 587. In this same Zappos order I decided to give the Brooks Ariel and Adrenaline a try & ordered those as well. I am very disappointed with the quality of the NB 587 as it is far inferior to the NB 1122. Both Brooks shoes I ordered have higher quality materials, better support, and cushioning than the New Balance. I will be keeping the Brooks Ariel only because the Adrenaline was a bit short in the toe box.

What's with that insole? This would be a very comfortable shoe if not for the fact that the insole/insert rubs against the inside of my foot and is causing discomfort. I wore these shoes outside before I realized there would be a problem so I am stuck with a $100 pair of shoes I can barely stand to wear!

On my feet all day long. Would not recommend these shoes. "My feet are killing me." Will be reordering my last pair of New Balance (W1122), except for the look they were the best shoes I ever owned.

This sneaker is great, absolutely adorable. About 2 weeks before I bought these, I went to a Stride Rite to have my 18 month old measured. He was a 7.5 wide so that’s why I ordered at Zappos. Unfortunately the straps were too short…but the next day, I had a 7.5 extra wide at my doorstep. Super easy exchange and they fit great. My recommendation, go 1 up on the width and you should be good. My son hasn't stopped running since I bought him these sneakers. (I don't how good that is, but at least I know he's comfy!)

I was very happy with ordering from Zappos. My New Balance shoes arrived in a timely manner. The customer service representative was very friendly and professional. A man in a pickup truck drove through a red light and hit my small car totaling it out. My seatbelt saved me, but unfortunately my feet were slamed so hard on the floor of the car that my arches suffered severe injuries. I have to wear orthopedic arches, New Balance rollback shoes give my feet the support they need and keep them free from pain. I was very fortunate find these shoes on Zappos.

Very comfortable shoe. Very roomy in the toe box. Great for walking 5+ miles daily.

Oitstanding! My search for a sneaker - any sneaker - that fit my size 11W, needing-arch-support feet, and also felt good to wear. This sneaker does all that. I've been searching for years. They were either too small in the ball, too big in the heel, not cushioned enough, not orthotic friendly, or the heel slipped off. This shoe - at last! - Thank you New Balance! - is my sneaker. I am just overjoyed. So glad I kept trying NB.

This is the closest thing I've found to replace my old 1122 New Balance shoes. The feel pretty good and width is great which is the thing I have trouble with most of the time. I put insoles in them and the right one squeaks. I wish they wouldn't squeak. Please get this shoe in other colors to since the white gets dirty and it really stands out. Black or tan would be great! I basically received these shoes as a present. Well, I was given money to buy what I wanted, and this is what I purchased. They are very comfortable. You do not even think about your feet the whole time that you are wearing them. How is that for comfort. They may look a little boxy what fashion does not dictate to me over comfort. This is the second time buying this shoe. Last time was over 8 years ago and it wears well and its good support for my feet. I give it less on style, nothing pretty about this shoe but its comfort is right on.

I have very high arches and have a hard time finding shoes that work. These shoes (when used with my SOLE Softec Ultra inserts) are great for my feet. My feet would like the arch support to be even better, but then probably not many other people would like them.

These shoes were recommended by my Dr. I have flat, very pronated, narrow feet. Zappos is the only place I could find these shoes. Hope Zappos keeps offering narrow shoes. They fit great even with my orthotics.

I have hyper-mobile joints in my feet, high arches, and narrow heels. I've tried just about every running shoe out there and paid hundreds for custom orthotics and inserts. I purchased these based on Zappos' customer reviews and when they arrived, they were so "old lady" that I was going to send them back. My husband convinced me to give them a shot and...well...I just ran my first 10K in them with absolutely no problems. I wish they had more style and didn't look like giant flotation devices but...they absolutely work.

My podiatrist recommended particular New Balance shoe three years ago after I had trouble finding athletic shoes that would work for me after bilateral foot surgery. I've gone through several pairs, and hiked through Africa and Europe. Excellent shoes with excellent support!

These are great sneakers. I keep buying New Balance. I'm 62, have overcome plantar fasciitis and am slowly getting out of major lower back issues. Shoes/sneakers are critical for me. You can easily remove the inner pad and put in your own orthotic (super feet, I use). They're great. And, of course, so is Zappos. Always get orders quickly and returns are so hassle-free and free!

Perfect - The shoe is now the only shoe I want to wear. After injuring my foot and complicating the injury by wearing flip flops I have found this shoe is the only way to be able to get around without injuring it further. The initial purchase was for working out which I have yet to do since the injury.

New Balance's W587 - Love this shoe, talk about comfort! It really is not the most attractive shoe; I thought it looked kind of clunky on. But, it is the most comfortable, supportive jogging shoe I've ever had. I love the roomy toe box, it's exactly what one needs for comfort walking, jogging, or running.
