This pair was a replacement I originally ordered 9.5 my true US shoe size but returned them too large I thought. New pair was 9 and fit perfect. So I would advise others to think about going down a half size from what they normally order.

Look great, feel is ok, and no there's no cushioning or arch support to speak of. I see these as a "night out" sort of shoe, not an everyday piece.

These are great shoes! Very stylish. I have had them for a week now, worn them 3 times and they already are well broken in. It took a couple of times just wearing around the house, but now I love them. I also get compliments on them from lots of people and they are great mix of casual, but still classy. The Beeswax Leather color is also a bit lighter than it shows in the pictures. Great color. They definitely run big, so I ended up sending the first pair back (10.5) and got a full size down 9.5 now.

These shoes are just fine. However, the Taupe Suede does not look as pristine as it looks in the picture. In reality, it looks like it has been through just enough wear and tear. Furthermore, the color of the Taupe Suede is not very accurate. In the picture the Taupe Suede looks brown-ish, but in person the shoes are more of a worn out gray-ish color. Overall, the shoes are just fine in terms of style, color, and fit. They are a tad bit expensive, but you what can you do?

I used to wear Clarks Desert Boots when I was in college...um...35 years ago! Too bad it's taken me all these years to rediscover this classic. The shoes look fantastic - a little dressier and classier than sneakers, but still relaxed and casual. It took me a few days to get used to the minimal lacing system - there are only two eyelets for the laces. I kept thinking the shoes would fall off. But in reality they're very secure and extremely comfortable.

A classic for a reason. Looks good with almost any outfit and comfortable. Size down at least 1/2 for a better fit, could have went a full size down but still comfy. Sharp and versatile boot.

I was very impressed with the look of this shoe. It's a classic style that can go well with both pants and shorts. I usually wear a 10.5, and that was way too big. I returned them through Zappos' excellent return process and got a 10. Still a touch too roomy, but I bet that during the winter (when I wear thicker socks), they'll be just right.

Great looking boots! Since my feet have the arch of a raptor the top of the boot sometimes dig into my feet if i don't tie them just right (hence the 3 stars for comfort). The boots also run a little big, I usually wear a 9-9.5 so i got these in a 8.5 and they fit just fine. Overall these boots are kewl.

Great shoes with classic good looks. The color I received was much lighter and more grey than the photo. I was anticipating more of a fawn, light beige color. Other than that, a quality product. Even the packaging was top notch.

The Clarks Desert Boots are well made classics that work great, look nice and are well priced. They are a good choice for those that just want great shoes that have stood the test of time and will still be around after all the new blingy options have come and gone.

I purchased these shoes for my son and my son-in-law. They absolutely love the boots. These shoes are both sporty and dressy. But make sure you order at least a half size down or more. My son wears a 9 1/2 and he went down a whole size. My son-in-law wears a 9 1/2 and only went down to a 9.

Great looking shoe with quality material. Takes awhile to break them in (ie may initially be uncomfortable while breaking them in).

I ordered smaller than normal per the suggestion of other reviews and still felt it was a little larger than it should have been. I like the shoe though! It's stylish and I get compliments on them. The sole has a tendency to shred a little bit around the edges due to the type of material it's made out of, but there haven't been any problems yet with that. There is very little support for your foot, very flat inside and the cushion doesn't help much. But I guess that's what insoles are for.

I really like this shoe. Goes with chinos or jeans, fits my narrow foot (I did buy a half size smaller than I usually wear though), and seems to be well made. Make no mistake, though, there is absolutely no arch support. Won't be good if you are doing a lot of walking or standing.

My son purchased these and wears them almost daily. Beautiful slate/grey/brown color and high quality constructionl Wish they had arch support within.

When I was a little kid, back in the mid '70s, we called 'em chukka boots. I just purchased a pair of these Clarks Desert Boots in Oakwood Suede. The color is not quite as golden as it appears to be in the photos. That's okay. The color is more of a light-medium or buckskin brown, which is fine with me. The reviews I read suggested I order 1/2 to 1 full size smaller than normal. I usually were a size 13 in Adidas sneakers, which I consider to be the gold standard. I took a chance and ordered the Clarks in a 12 and they fit perfectly. These boots were priced at retail when I ordered them. They arrived promptly two days later. When I sat down to write this review three days after purchase, I found that they were on sale. A friendly five minute phone call resulted in a price difference refund to my account. I can't speak highly enough of the service I have received from zappos.com and the quality of product they ship is always first rate!

Classic comfort - Great boots with jeans or kahkis. Some of the comments in other reviews said that they were large for the listed size. I did not find them that way. I had to break them in before they were comfortable. Order your regular size and let them break in.

Ordered 1/2 size down for my husband to 9.5 as suggested. Too small. Ordered a 10 and it was huge. Bummer as he liked the boot.

The shoelaces aren't enough to hold this shoe on for me. I take a regular width shoe, and even tied tight, my heel slides up and down quite a bit. Appearance is cool, but move around way too much for my comfort.

I can't decide about these shoes. I was told to order them a 1/2 size smaller than I wear because they would stretch out. So I ordered a 1/2 size smaller and a full size smaller. The full size felt like it would fit if I accounted for the stretching. But the shoes ended up being so hard in the sole that I feel like I need to get insoles, and now I wish I would've only gone a 1/2 size smaller in order to fit an insole in. I would try these on at a store and maybe talk to someone about how they fit before you buy.

I usually wear a 10, so I had to reorder for a 9. I probably would have reorder for an even smaller size if it wasn't such a hassle to wait. They run big and if they're too big, the back juts into your ankle.

Nice looking...but back of shoe hits a little high on the achilles. Foot bed is not as cushioned as I hoped.

Not as comfortable as I recall from years ago. Somewhat stiff and heavy - maybe that's why they were on sale.
