These were for my son, I wore them as a teen and found the quality to be unchanged. He is very happy.

Desert Boots -
I have owned a pair of desert boots since the 1950’s. I consider them a wardrobe essential. With jeans, khakis or casual slacks I think they look great. I find them comfortable, easy to care for and a great look. For maintenance they require very little, just wear them until dirty (it adds character) and when they develop too much character, wash them with dish soap and a natural brush. And, when the end comes, say goodbye and buy another pair because they are cheaper than sneakers these days. As an aside, they were designed for the British Troops fighting Rommel in the desert during WWII, how cool is that!

Brothel Creepers...
...is what I think the British soldiers call these because they are very quiet shoes; particularly in sand. I have worn Clark's desert boots in Algeria, Morocco, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia amongst other places and finally decided to get a dark brown pair. A friend of mine wears these on safari in Africa because they are so quiet he can creep up on the animals and take their picture or shoot them. Very easy to get on and off in the middle of the night when the bad guys are coming over the wall. Not a traditional hiking or combat boot so not good for load bearing but on an average day in the desert they are great. They don't overheat your feet and they are easily removed to pour out the sand. Great shoes that go with many occasions. Spray them with stain repellent first though.

I purchased these shoes for my 83 year old father who uses a walker. He has always liked Clark's desert boot because they not only are comfortable but they wear well and keep their appearance. I appreciate Zappos selection of sizes, prices, and prompt attention to my orders.

At long last -
I have wanted these boots as long as I can remember and they are definitely everything I hoped for. As these boots were not offered in women's sizes, I ordered the men's size two sizes smaller than normal and they fit perfectly. I am looking forward to a long and comfortable relationship with them.

Clark's Desert Boots Rule!
I've had my pair for 15 years and they're still good as new with the original laces and I wear them alot - even to construction sites. Clark's are simply superb and the original Desert Boot is so right on that nothing else is as good! If you want the best there is no comparison.

Simply the best!!
If this shoe is ever discontinued I hope that Buckingham Palace and all it's inhabitants are forced to work at a McDonalds in Sebastopol, Mississippi. I have worn it hunting, shopping, working in the yard. I have owned a pair of Clark's dessert boots since I discovered them as a seventh grader in 1968. They are the most versatile, comfortable and best looking 3/4 boot in the world. You can climb mountains, hike desserts, ford swollen rivers and stay up with your wife at the mall.
Onward,

There's not a better shoe.
I'm 61 years old and I've worn this style of shoe since I was a very young man (17) and they can't be beat, when I purchase this next pair they will be about my 27th pair and I'll continue to buy them as long as they make them.

A Phenomenal Classic.
These shoes never cease to amaze me. After hearing my grandfather rave about them while in India during WWII, and reading GQ's glowing review of this classic, I simply had to purchase a pair. All I can say is that they do everything. They look great, feel great and last for years.

READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU WANT GENUINELY HELPFUL REMARKS ABOUT SIZING. I grew frustrated reading online reviews of the Clarks Desert Boot because almost every comment about the sizing was radically unhelpful. One review would say "I wear a 9.5 and had to order an 8.5 in Clarks" while another would say "I wear a 9.5 and a 9.5 in Clarks fit perfectly." The apparent contradictoriness -- and thus the idleness -- of these comments derives from the fact that nobody is SIMPLY a 9.5. Shoe size means nothing nowadays; there are too many brands with too much variation in actual length. So for all of you who want information you can actually use to make an educated judgment, here you go: I have narrow, flat feet; I wear a 10.5 in the Nike Zoom Pegasus, a 9.5 in Frye Oliver Chukka, a 9.5 in the Clarks Wallabee, and a 9 in the Chuck Taylor All-Star. And I wear a 9 in the Clarks Desert Boot in Beeswax.

Bought these for my husband as an alternative to his Allan and Edwards boots for work. He wears these when he knows he's going to need a more 'rough and tumble' boot to wear outside the office. Reasonably comfortable and stylish. Would recommend!

I bought these because they were exactly what I wanted: I love classic Clarks and brown leather. Since I already owned a pair of Wallabees and Desert Trek's, these round out the collection. I've also got a pair of Ecco shoes, and the Ecco's have redefined what a comfortable shoe is for me. Compared to the Ecco's, these feel basic and in need of modern technology. But since they cost much less and are a 30 year old design, I won't press any charges. They take a few days to break in, then you'll love them. Buy 1/2 size small. In summary, buy them for the style, buy them for the history, but don't buy them if you're picky about comfort.

Got these for my husband for Valentine's Day. He loves them! At first I was concerned that the color (Oakwood Suede) was too light and yellow, but after a few wears it has begun to soften up. He says the sole is a bit flat and uncomfortable, but I'm sure an insole would take care of that. Great alternative to loafers for casual outfits!

Nice looking boot, and being leather versus suede and this very burnished red color make them standout versus the other Clarks boots, and other desert boots. This is my first pair, have not worn a lot but I didn't expect to have to break these in, they always rub above my ankle and one foot - but do I need to be more patient? Not a ton of support. That's why the 3, but could be a 4 with time. They also do run a half to full size large.

These shoes have virtually no arch support and are not terribly comfortable. The toe area is wider than the rest of the shoe, which makes it look a bit weird. The main problem for me was that, with the laces going through only two sets of holes on each side, I could never tighten them quite enough without constricting only the part of my foot directly beneath the laces.

Over the years I've been thru a few pairs of these which says a lot right there. Super comfortable. My one complaint is the sole.
These uppers deserve better. They're flimsy and wear out fast. A long time ago, these were made with a more sturdy, longer lasting sole, and
were just as comfortable. Same thing with the Treks. However I still give them 5 stars.

These are classics. The leather is thick and soft. Dresses up or down.
After broken in, I put in "Sole" insoles for extra support.
The color is not as tan as the picture, more olive green, beware.

Love these shoes. After seven years of near constant use, the sole finally started to fall off today, so I’m shopping for a replacement. My only complaint is that on slick wet surfaces they have zero traction, and I’ve almost fallen a few times. Then again, that might be because I’ve worn the soles down so far, like bald tires that should have been changed 20,000 miles ago. I don’t remember if that was a problem when they were new. Anyway, I sure got my money’s worth out of these things. Sorry to see them go.
