Personal favorite, however...
I love these boots, I just wished they weren't so slippery and had arch support. I would slip on any concrete that was wet and I had no traction on sand. My arches were always sore at the end of the day. Clarks probably puts something addictive into their boots cause I currently own 2 pair and want to replace them with 2 more since the souls wear out so fast. Help my addiction please...
I'd also recommend:
the hard leather version of the desert boot

Could Clark's still be 'Tops'?
I had my doubts. But yes, The Desert Boot is still one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The real test of a comfortable shoe is when you put it on you forget about it almost immediately. It's not tight or restricting circulation, like most new shoes. These Clark's passed the test!

Usually a size 9 and the 8.5 were way too large. Ordered an 8 in the black leather and they were way too small. Wish the sizing was more consistent. I ordered 5 pairs total to try and only 1 fit. Since there are no stores I will shop elsewhere next time. Disappointing because the shoe quality is nice

I agree with the poster Tk: I ordered the sand color, but what arrived was not what was shown on the picture. The pair I received look more "stone" or light gray in color, not sand or khaki.

I have been a loyal customer of Clarks shoes. As a matter of fact, I own about 10 different styles. Until recently, the sole of my boot came completely off in the middle of my routine. This was a big disappointment to me because all this time I was under the assumption that the boots were stitched all the way through the sole. I reported the incident to customer service with pictures and everything, and all I got was a request to provide proof of purchase to get a refund. I'm not looking for a refund. I want them to sell you a product that reflects what they advertise, not just a shoe that is glued, and at any moment you'll have the embarrassment of losing the sole while walking.

Always loved the sand colored dessert boot. Years later ( now) bought a pair. The arch is too low to push the foot in and toe area very narrow. RED outer stitching?? On an iconic shoe?? No thanks. I returned.

I had a pair for a decade and more. In 2004 I melted into their poor soles on some cooling lava fields in Hawaii and they lasted many years on. Finally my toes, the leather, the seams, and the soles all agreed that enough was enough, much to my chagrin. I parted with my old buddies with much sorrow. On to another pair. You (especially your feet) wont regret slipping into these. THE quality comfort shoe.

The shoes arrived quicker than expected. True "fit to size".
My only negative comment was raised by a prior reviewer: Not really the color pictured, not really cola (reddish) more tan color."
Lastly, these shoes are made in Vietnam.

Love everything about this shoe except for the orange stitching. Also has this same shoe without the crepe sole and it fits great but the same size for these shoes didn't work. Going to return it and order half a size up

Was delivered and upon opening the box, the leather was damaged, distressed and heavilly scratched throughout the shoes. Dirty finger prints and dust all over the shoes. The scratches will not come off, if you pay $150 expecting a quality product you should be entitled to getting what was pictured.

I've been wearing my pair of desert boots for a few years now and when I went to update them with a new pair I found that the new pair was very different. Metal tipped laces, really? All they do is make sound when I walk. The inside of the boot is also different. They've added more padding and as one other user indicated they changed the toe box making them look more like clown shoes than shoes that have style and a classic look. There's a reason they hadn't really changed since the 70's when my dad wore a pair. If you notice they even hid the changes in the photos of the boot. Hiding the metal laces and the inside of the boot. Too bad y'all. Hope you bring back the old style. Wish I had read the reviews of others before wasting my time.

Just like the pair I wore in college in the early 70s. Well-made, classic, and comfortable.

The purchase experience with Zappos was excellent, as usual. The shoes are the size I ordered, but the fit is rather snug, as I ordinarily wear a wide width. Apparently Clarks does not make their desert boots in wide widths. Since they are suede, I'm hoping they will stretch into comfort with wear over time. Clarks desert boots are nevertheless a quality product.
