Awesome boots! Very comfortable and good quality leather. It’s a little more fashion forward than regular men's boots, especially here in the Twin Cities, so if you live in a conservative region too, you need to wear these boots with confidence! I still get a lot of compliments on them however. I always tuck in my pant legs to show off the boots. Looks very equestrian! Minor complaint is that I wish the shaft was knee length... its more mid calve and Zappos shipping was super fast! Ordered the boots at 11pm and got them at 1pm the next day at no additional cost!

I just got these in the mail today. I was so excited! I ordered them at 5pm and got them 6pm the next day. YAY ZAPPOS! They are true to size for me, I wear a 9. They laced up perfectly for me, I don’t know what these other people are talking about. Maybe I just have small calves. Since they are new, they are squeaky and a little stiff, but they aren’t as bad as people have been making them out to be. I’ve been wearing them for a few hours now. JUST MAKE SURE YOU WEAR SOCKS. LONG SOCKS. They will rub against your skin. Ankle socks are not appropriate here. Besides, knee length socks look so cute poking out from the tops of these!

I read a few of the other reviews before buying, and when I got my boots in the mail I found them to fit, contrary to the testimonial that they run up to a full size larger. Make sure you check the European size conversion if your feet are strange in US sizes. They did take a while to break in, but that’s to be expected. DEFINITELY get the salve by Docs, it really helped to break these in, and yes its $15, but it’s worth it. Kickass boots, history proves correct.

This shoe looks ridiculously good! I get comments on how awesome my boots are pretty much every day I wear them at work. At first (about two weeks) they hurt the back of my heel and ankle. I had a little scabbing. I was sort of lazy about it, though. If I would have worn two layers of thick socks like I was supposed to, then they would have felt better. I had all sorts of people rub the leather on the back of the heel to work them in a little. I do not recommend wearing these or any steel toes if you have a manual vehicle. I made the horrible mistake and stalled my car 5 times in rush hour! It made for a good laugh at work though! I love the boots now! They are super sexy and are slowly working their way into "comfy-ville." I rather get really nice steel toes like these than crappy ones that won't last and that I'd only wear at work. I can wear these anywhere! Oh yeah, and be sure to order them a size to half size smaller than you'd normally buy. I did and they fit just right.

If you have room for them in your closet... YES! I live in an RV, so I don't have very much space, if you can imagine. My style is a bit... off... compared to most girls my age, haha. They're really edgy and they take pretty much anything. Some of my friends try to bend the steel toe and stand on the tips of my shoes while I'm wearing them - it's hilarious. These shoes are amazing if you like to stand out a bit, you might get a few looks. Looks equally awesome with jeans (I wear them tucked in) or a skirt (long or short). Also, they take a really long time to lace up if you aren't used to it. Overall, comfort is a total win and the rest of it's amazing, too.

Great shoe. I've had these boots for 2-3 weeks now. They are really great. Definitely worth the money. The only bad thing I have to say about them is when you first get them they're very stiff, obviously, and I got blisters on my ankles. They should be oiled to help break them in. But they are a wonderful boot and I would definitely buy more Doc Martens in the future.

I’ve always felt like a punk pimp in these boots - A little saddle soap and some miles and these are golden. Remember, nothing great comes easy. Wear em like you stole em!

These boots are freakin wicked. I must suggest that you use a leather conditioner before you wear them. This will help the leather become softer, and break in more efficiently and also will break them in more comfortably to your fit. Note that they ARE one size BIGGER!! My suggestion is go to a store and try some docs on prior to buying. These boots are for someone that wants to stand away from the crowd. THE BOMB!!

Amazing! I love them! They're super duper comfortable and the best thing to wear to a concert! I'm still breaking them in and I'm getting some mink oil on board so it'll be a whole lot easier. Most comfortable boot I've ever worn and I've been wanting them for the longest time now. Buy!!

As usual, they rock - Bought these for my fiancé’s x-mas present, and of course he loved them. He's really hard on boots and these just don't die! Last pair I bought for him was more than 3 years ago, maybe 4!

Oi! I have always loved Doc Martens, but these are hard to break in. Wear extra thick socks. For the laces issue, if you lace them so the two leather pieces touch so you can't see the tongue, it will seem like the laces are longer and it will help stretch out the boots.

Wicked - I cannot seem to go a day without wearing these; my other pair of cheaper boots just doesn’t seem right and are very stiff. Sure these take a few minutes to lace up but actually I have gotten quicker at doing it so it's really no bother now. After softening up the leather with some Mink Oil (I really got them wet with it), they became much more flexible and easier to wear. I had an issue with the heels being a bit stiff and blistering but after time and a few band-aids this does become easier to deal with. I got some heavy-duty work socks and these are a must have, regular socks just don't have enough thickness to them. I'm thinking of getting another pair as a backup I like these so much. :) One more thing, look for a few pairs of laces, since they are difficult to get for this length may as well have them just in case!

I love my Docs. I bought these boots to replace my old pair that I had for TEN YEARS. They rock. The sizing is a little off (I had to buy a pair 2 sizes smaller than my usual size), but once you have the right size they'll be your best friends.

Great Boots - Very comfortable, just what I was looking for.

Dreamy boots! These have been my dream boots for over a decade and I finally bought them. They're hot and durable and have lots of support. I'm still breaking them in, but since I own a pair of 8-eyelets, I know they'll be super comfy in no time. I love these with a skirt or dress and tights. I ordered them a full size smaller than I actually wear, and that was perfect. Zappos rules. Hello! They came 1.5 business days after I ordered them. Yummy.

Sweet Boots - These boots are amazing, they break in much faster than I was led to believe and are very comfortable. I bought a US10 first and felt that they might be too big (I usually wear a 10) so I ordered the size 9. I'm glad I did, these boots stretch a lot! What felt tight initially has turned into a super-comfy, well fitted pair of boots. I wore these for short periods (3-4 hours) the first few days to let them stretch without killing my feet - I wouldn't recommend a full day of walking until you work up to it (about a week), but once they start to soften, things move fast. Get these boots, when people ask to see them and you lift up your jeans, the looks that you get are priceless!

ROCKIN!! FINALLY!!! I've been lookin for these boots for a long time. I worked for a shoe store and always tried to get these shipped to me. Great Look, Great Feel (once they're broken into, of course), and Great durability for the price! And of course more kudos to Zappos. This was my first purchase and definitely won't be my last! If you want a great boot for year round, this is it. I have five pairs of docs and my sister has about three...we love this shoe and all that comes with it. No complaints here, ALL PRAISE!

Doc Martens 1942 - Fabulous! Condition and fit were great, although expect the toe box to be roomy - it is a clunky boot, after all. Zappos service was incredibly helpful and FAST when they came with too-short laces. One call and in a few days I had replacements at no cost. Shipping was faster than advertised, too.

These boots kick ***! I've been in love with Doc's since I was 7 yrs. old and my big cousin got a pair. I wore them everyday, and after 8 years, they still look good! These new boots are my 4th pair of Doc's and my 2nd steel toes. I love Doc's original look and feel. (And my mom loves Zappos' free, fast shipping.)

Happy customer - I have ordered Dr. Martens from you in the past. I have always been satisfied. This is the only brand of boot my son will wear. He wears them about everyday and they last. They are worth the price. Even if they were more expensive I would still purchase them.

Give it time - The boots came quickly and in great condition. At first I though they felt a little big, but after trying on my steel toe 10 eyelets I realized that it was the same. They felt bigger because they were not broken in yet so the top of the boot wasnt "squished" Ya its a pain to lace so much of the boot. If you complain about there not being a zipper, buy a cheap boot with a zipper in it. Not these, if like me you dont want a zipper get these boots. Docs will last longer then you care to think about. I own 3 pairs now, 8 eyelets, the 10's and now the 20's. I have not worn a pair of sneakers since 2000. A long song is recommended.

These boots felt absolutely huge on my feet, they seemed much larger than the size I got. Granted I have narrow feet but they felt much larger all around.

:) :) :) I love the Dr. Marten's! Fit great, look great, and one they got broke in they are the most comfortable boots I've ever had. The downside though, until they got broke in they were the most uncomfortable pair I have had.

Great boots, work or not - As others noted, these took a while to break in (longer than any other boots I owned) but were well worth it. After the break-in, they were quite comfortable, and still look better than any other work boots I've ever had. They take forever and a day to lace, but that comes with the territory. They're also not waterproof, but I also knew this before I bought 'em. They've lasted me a year and a half, and are still quite wearable. However, I ordered a pair of Rocky's with Gore-Tex for the winter.
