These boots are great!! They do run extremely large, so go a full size down. Other than that, they are super comfy, durable and the leather feels great. Love the color of the heels as well. Great purchase. : )

This was my 2nd pair of Dr. Martens 1460. I had a pair years ago that were slightly too small, so I eventually got rid of them. I expected exactly the same product, but this pair doesn't have the same heavy lug sole. At first I was disappointed, but I realized these were lighter and about as rugged. So, now I love them. A little lighter and very comfortable.

Zappos is amazing! The return policy is amazing! Everything about it was so east and convenient, and they give you exactly what you what. Not to mention, they have a wide range of stuff to choose from. I always go with Zappos!

These are gorgeous boots and ever so comfortable. Have not yet worn them in the wintry weather but anticipate they'll be an asset as I navigate icy streets.

Doc Martens are definitely unique boots. There are two different types, those made in Asia, and those made in England. The English boots are just like the ones I owned 35 years ago when I was a punk in the late '70s and '80s. They are more expensive, but worth the extra cash. Back then, they had a flat insole and still do today. However, they now sell insoles that make them extremely comfortable. There are two types of insoles, the comfort style and the performance style. I tried both and the performance version is far superior. If you want the boots to be comfortable right off, get the insoles, your feet will thank you. Sizing, just follow the UK to US conversion chart and you'll be fine. My UK size 10 fits my US size 11.5 foot perfectly. Take care of the boots with the Doc Martens balm, and they will easily last you longer than you can imagine. My pair I bought in the mid-70's lasted me 20 years. The Asian version of the boots isn't as well made as the UK models. If you plan on wearing them once every other week when you go out, they will be fine. If you plan on wearing them every day, buy the UK made version. You'll be wondering in five years if and when they might finally wear out. I'm on my third pair, and I'm in my mid-50's now. They are fantastic boots.

They get comfy after a few wears. I recommend wearing them around the house for several hours to get them broken in. I had some soreness around the top, where the boots are laced, but not of a major concern. The soles are the most comfortable to walk around in. I've owned several pair since college and I purchased these for competing in step shows. A great choice!

These boots were more than I expected. The Union jack was awesome. They are sized as the chat they have you use. I would recommend using Zappos to my family and friends. I have already been asked where I got them and I told them Dr. Martens from Zappos. I LOVE 'EM!

Greatest shoe, boot whatever I've ever had! I have arch issues so I put extra support in mine. Comfortable, durable. I wear at my office job all day then to the clubs at night and my feet thank me! I love Dr. Matins I have two pairs black and brown! Get half size smaller than what your used to wearing they run a half size big.

I've been a Doc guy for a long time, but due to their high quality you don't need to buy shoes often because they last so long. I was hesitant to buy a new pair with recent reviews stating the quality has gone downhill. I am very glad I didn't listen to the reviews! I got my new pair the day before I left for the Sturgis bike rally. New boots usually take some time to break in and can make your feet hurt at first, so I was nervous. These boots were broken in right out of the box! I did a lot of walking around and riding with no problems or foot pains. I would highly recommend these boots and am completely satisfied.

I have a wide foot, the size 6 length wise was perfect but not width...size 7 way too big. What is up with shoe companies not offering half sizes!

Took three pairs of boots sent to me to get a right boot that fit. Zappos was very helpful and gave me a coupon and I used that to order a pair of Birkenstocks Milano. These Doc Martens are about the same as the old ones made in England...I just had a problem with their quality control. Third pair was okay. My size 12 (US) didn't have any room to spare, but I kept the third pair and like them.

Every person I've talked to has said that breaking in docs was a huge pain but that the end result always made it worth it. For me breaking them in was super easy and only took about a week. All I did was put some balsam on them and then wear them all the time. I originally got these boots because I needed something slip resistant for a kitchen job. However, they didn't really do that great of a job of being slip resistant. That wasn't a big deal to me though because after they got dirty on my first day I realized I cared too much about them. These boots look great and I'm hoping to wear them for years.

You can't miss with these stylish, comfortable and durable boots. I recommend the slightly more expensive Nappa leather as I think the boot just looks a bit better. With very little care, these boots can last years. I get a new pair every 5-10 years!

A men's 7 is not a women's 8, it is more like a women's 9. Either that or the sizing was wrong on these boots.

I had been searching for a pair of Doc that I had around 2001. I settled on the 1460's. They look great with the usual Doc quality. But the fit left some to be desired. Length wise was good. Width was ok at best. I have wide feet. I ordered the standard width because the leather stretches and once I got them broken in, they would be perfect. They were very loose around the ankle. Even tying them tight to the point where the sides touch, they are still very loose. Trying a different model online my not have been the best, but there are no Dr. Marten shops near by me.

If you want the old Docs, you have to buy the vintage line. They are still made in England and are much better quality than the cheaper models which are now made in various Asian countries. Of course, they are also more expensive. Don't buy the mass produced Asian models expecting them to equal the "vintage" quality.

Great looking boots. I have had an issue with breaking them in during the winter time. The dryness of the air is keeping the leather dry and they have 'leather squeak' (which is a term I just invented.) I have had a pair of these boots previously, but I bought them 4 years ago and in the spring so they were well broken in by the time winter came. I still have the previous pair of boots, too, but they're in brown (and in excellent shape) and I wanted a black pair. These boots will probably last close to forever with proper maintenance. My 4 year old pair needed shoelaces a couple of months ago, and some new soles eventually.

I love Docs. I have a pair of brown ones that I've owned for over 10 years that are finally broken in. ;-) These are in the horrible, painful new phase, but I love the color, and I know that once I get them broken in, they will be awesome. Doc Martens are not for the faint of heart (or foot), but if you love the look, it is worth the time! I have to go find my rubber mallet and a towel.

I have worn the same pair of boots for 12 years now.they have been neglected, motorcycle exhaust pipe melted, and they still rock! They are by far the best boots I have EVER owned. I have heard they changed their ways and that is sad. I guess I'll find out.

These shoes are very stylish and fashionable. They look good if you have joggings or skinny jeans that you tuck inside of them. But the shiny stuff that is on the shoe will get scuffed and scratch. But don't worry Dr. Martens makes a patent leather spray that fixes it.

Got these for my 18 year old son and he absolutely loves them! They are cool, timeless and classic and are really comfortable for him. I especially love that they will last him a long, long time. I had docs in the '80's and loved them then and it's great to know that they still rock today!

I think the quality of leather varies from boot style to boot style. I owned my first pair about 25 years ago and they were fine after having to break them in for a couple of weeks. I never took them off and wore them everywhere with most everything. Eventually they cracked on the bottom from being so worn out. then I bought an identical pair 10 years ago and they were terrible. they were labeled leather, but I still think they are not. They are at the bottom of my closet, hardest leather ever and money wasted. Now a month ago I bought a pair of "Aimille" boots in the brown and I love them. The softest leather and really nice and even a bit on the feminine side. I'm returning them for a smaller size, but that's the only thing wrong. The leather is fine and soft and no breaking in time needed.

These shoes are so great. I have a really narrow foot and I am usually a size 8 1/2 (US) so I went with a 6 (UK). I recommend going down 2 sizes from your US size. I wanted these shoes for comfort only, but they are really trendy and go with just about everything. Now breaking them in seems to be a problem for everyone else, but for me it only took about 2 days. They are a little big on me but that means I can wear thick socks in the winter so I don't think it matters much. Not many people have these shoes at my school so it's nice to have something a little different than what anyone else has. Overall, the price is a little much but honestly they are such good shoes it's totally worth it. I'm thinking about ordering another pair soon,. Hope this helped and good luck!
