It's been years since I've tried Vans, and now I remember why they don't do it for me. They are heavy, they rub my little toes (and I don't have wide feet), and they aren't very supportive. What's the big deal about Vans?

These shoes are annoyingly hard to put on. Sounds silly, I know, but it's true. The laces are fat and there are 8 holes on a side, so loosening and tightening them are a hassle. Also, the back of the shoe is tall and soft, so it's almost impossible to get your foot all the way in the shoe without loosening most of the laces. Get a pair of Vans with the usual 3 or 4 lace-holes and you'll be happier.

I like this style a lot, but the leathery material inside keeps rubbing against the back of my leg. I had to walk around with bandaids covering them. Now I only wear these with long socks.

These shoes are for my 12 year old grandson. The fit was very good and he loves the style. The only problem is that after wearing for 3 weeks the shoes were very worn looking. They may not be the best for a 12 year old.

Another gift for my son. He's been wearing Vans for years and years. He didn't like the stripe. One shoe came already laced-up. Was this a return? Not enough padding like the old kind. Will try again!

These shoes are great looking but have no arch support and no cushioning in the heel area. The sole is famously grippy but not a comfortable shoe unless you sit down all day and order them a half size bigger than normal. Mine are now coming apart at the ankle area. I thought canvas would make a cooler, temperature-wise shoe. I was wrong.

The shoes look great and feel pretty good once they are broken in. That said, it took me a couple of weeks of blisters and band-aids before these shoes got comfortable. Probably worth less money then the price I paid.

The shoes are comfortable, but poorly made. I'm not sure if it's a defect in my pair, or all of them are like this, but the soles are smaller than the actual shoe. Its very weird.

I had high hopes for these shoes because I have a pair of "Crail" sneakers by Vans, and they are really comfortable, with lots of padding. Unfortunately, the Crails aren't made anymore, and I couldn't get what seemed to be the closest (Whip-2 and La Cripta Dos) in my size/color. I knew that the Old Skools wouldn't be as padded, but I thought they'd be more comfortable than they are. They feel okay, but not great; feels kind of similar to my Converse All-Stars. Actually, after wearing them for a while throughout the day, my pinky toe starts to hurt from rubbing against the side of the shoe. I wouldn't buy another pair of these.

Disappointed -
I was so prepared to love these shoes, but I guess they just don't fit me well. A half-size higher would have been too big, and on the ones I have (8.5 women’s), they rub against the back of my ankle and give me blisters every time I wear them. Sometimes they also rub against my pinky toe. They also just make my feet hurt in general when I am walking in them for longer periods of time.

Ouch -
I think there was a defect in the stitching in the left shoe because it rubbed the back of my foot raw, even though the sizing was right. It took about two weeks to break the shoes in and I had to take it to the shoe store to have it stretched out even though it wasn't particularly small. Yes--by a half size smaller than you normally buy.

Pretty good...
The main complaint I have about these shoes is that the insole isn't very comfortable. Normally this is okay since I always have to use an additional insole with all my shoes because of how narrow my feet are, but in this case, the insole of the shoe tears up any other insole I put in there after just a couple months. I really thought these would be more comfortable than they are. Another thing is that they provide practically NO warmth or traction in the winter. I guess you shouldn't expect any more from this kind of shoe... but still.

To be completely honest .. Vans in general are uncomfortable. Beautiful, but uncomfortable. Just not worth the pain at all. Most painful shoes I’ve ever came across.

I've had these shoes for close to 6 months and they haven't broken in. They hurt my feet badly after 30 minutes of wearing them. I would look elsewhere for good walking shoes.

I love the look and feel of this shoe. My low rating is because Vans no longer concerns themselves with making a quality shoe. I have owned this pair for a year now and it has fallen apart. I have bought several other pairs (of Vans) over the last few years and all of them have fallen apart after 6 months to a year. I have a pair I bought in 1996 that has held up longer than then the pair I bought just a year ago. So I am done with Vans until they can deliver a quality pair of shoes.

Maybe it's just me...
I've only read rave reviews about this shoe, and I know many people who own and love it. However, maybe it's just me, but they weren't comfortable at all. Possibly it's because they were new, but they felt extremely uncomfortable in the ankle part of the shoe, and felt heavier than they looked. I'll try the slip-on Vans, but have a feeling I'll be going back to Converse.

Terrible! They dye started washing out and my feet would come off black. After a while I stopped wearing them. I contacted Vans and they claim that's not considered as defective and it's not eligible for replacement or refund. Completely dissappointing. Wouldn't recomment them. And i still dont know if my pair is defective or all of them, because Vans never clarified the matter so that they wouldn't have to resolve this issue!

I have been wearing Vans shoes for the last couple of decades. They used to be made so much better. Over the course of time they have made them cheaper while charging more money for them. It really showed with this last pair. No support, and the soles starting coming unglued within a few months. I have become increasingly disappointed and hate to say that I will never buy Vans shoes again.

Have worn more than my share of Vans. Always wear size 8. These are tight across the back and rubbed a blister. Disappointed.

I love the look and fit of these shoes. I wish I could actually wear them! There is a very thick chunky seam in the dead center of the top of the back that has rubbed both of my heels raw to the point of bleeding! I wore them around the house but that didn't do it. I didn't notice til I wore them to work one day. I've tried everything and they're simply unwearable! I wanted so badly to give a positive review but these she's are terrible! Do NOT waste your money!

I received a used return pair of shoes. That sucks since I paid full price having to return and wait to receive new pair is too much of a hassle. So it’s my loss.

Not worth the $70. I enjoy wearing deck or "skater" shoes, although I'm not in the typical demographic. These shoes look good and fit okay, but getting them on and off with sides thinner than I'm used to takes extra effort. These should have been delivered with a shoe horn. Instead, I wish I had purchased Big 5 Sporting Goods' "Harsh" brand ($25), which have sturdier material, making them easier to put on and take off. Not one to give up on a pair of usable shoes because of a little inconvenience, I'll wear these until they're done, but I wish I had looked further.

Most uncomfortable shoes I have ever owned. I bought inserts to see if they would be more comfortable, but they still were not. I even got blisters. I have never gotten blisters from shoes before. I wish so badly that I could return them. Money down the drain.
