Awesome boot - I ordered this boot in the 12 inch and the 8 inch. Returned the 12...kept the shorter boot. I own a few pairs of boots and don't wear them with anything other than jeans so I figured I'd try a shorter boot this time. This is a fabulous boot. The leather is extremely high quality. Ordered 1/2 size smaller (as suggested) and they fit just right… even a little room to spare. Normally, I wear a 9. I'm a SOLID 9. I ordered an 8.5 and was good to go right out of the box. Although comfortable from the start, I will say that they require a bit of breaking in... as any good boot does. Heel slippage is normal. The boot is a bit narrow...so take note if you have a wider foot. All in all, absolutely fabulous boot with great appeal. You walk differently in this boot.....pull the trigger girls...and strut your stuff.

Love these boots! I ordered my usual size & they are perfect. The leather is very thick yet supple. Great look and quite comfortable. I love them!

Awesome!! These were my fantasy boots and when I finally got them I was not disappointed. Great fit, great look. It took me one day to break them in and although there was a little rubbing by the ankle initially, with the right socks, I am fine. Love 'em Love 'em!!! Don't wait as long as I for the experience!!!!

Perfect just perfect - I bought these boots after trying 5 other similar styles. I wanted a classic casual, comfy, hot boot. A boot guys would like but woman would think "how smart and cool!" For all kinds of weather this boot is great!

A little narrow - I tried these in a 6.5 and they were just too huge - one half size down made them a little narrow on the sides of the foot, but I figure they'll stretch. Very stiff at first, but already they're softening up. Durable and quite cute - yes, the heel does slide a bit, but this isn't a problem - still comfy with zero blisters or chafing.

Still great after two years - Just want everyone to know - I bought these boots two years ago, and I have worn them several times a week except the hottest days of summer. They are a little loose in the heel, but that is normal for pull on work boots. I have never gotten so many compliments from both sexes on a pair of shoes, and the leather just gets better with age and forms more to your foot I have slim calves, so only wear them with boot cut pants, but they go with literally any fabric - denim to velvet. Yes, they were expensive, but I have worn them so much it was worth it - and you can't not strut in these boots with a pair of sexy jeans!

Midlife crisis boots - I love these boots. I had to use plastic bags to break them in but that did not take long. They are so comfortable I forget that I am wearing boots. These fit true to size but I have a wide foot. I have had trouble fitting other Frye boots. I’m looking forward to my next pair.

Great look and fit - This is a way cool Saturday morning boot that feels great. I love them.

Love my Frye Boots!!!! These boots are absolutely gorgeous! I tried them on the second they arrived without socks and they felt great. My husband said they are beautiful, and he doesn't really notice stuff like that. Can't wait to wear them, if only the weather in New York would get colder!!!! I'm sure they will be the best boots I ever owned and will last forever!!!!!

Loved these - I got a size too big. So I ordered the next size down and they came the next morning. That was so great especially because I did not have to pay for shipping. I love Zappos and will always order from them.

Love them, they feel a little narrow, but they will break in, I'm sure. Only problem is, they suck the socks right off my feet, as do my campus boots - does this happen to anyone else? What are the best socks to wear with them? Most of the reviews complain about the heel slippage, but the heels are supposed to slip (can't remember where I read that). Probably the only way to get around heel slippage is to buy fitted boots with zippers. Size wise, I'd go with your usual size to start with; I think the fit depends a lot on the actual shape of your feet. For me these boots run true to size, but for you, they may not.

WOW! I can't say enough good things about these boots. I've had them for about 4 months and can testify that they get better with age. At first they were a little stiff, but they break in easily. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I own, plus you feel like you can take on the world while wearing them. Don't know why, but boots just do that for you. They're definitely worth the steep price tag.

Boots for work and/or play - Very well made. Frye has made a boot for those of us with a very high arch that can only wear zip up boots. These will last a long time.

AWESOME - They fit perfect and they are awesome. I have never been complimented so much on a shoe as I have on a shoe ever!! I love my Frye’s!!!!!! They are hard to break in like a Doc Martin but once you do they are your best friend.

Parelli Tour Breaks in new Boots - My new Frye boots arrived right before I was due to attend a 3 day Pat Parelli Tour and they were so gorgeous I just had to wear them even without my usual boot break in period beforehand. The look is great; they are a little large, but that is ok as in winter that will provide room for thick socks, plus a little extra room to allow for horses hoofs landing too close is good also. Despite being on my feet and doing a lot of walking for 3 days at the Tour, my feet were comfortable and I was happy! Very nice boot!!

Not for my foot - Good looking boot but not for my foot - got these along with the higher style which wouldn't fit my calf. These were OK in that area, but too tight for my bunion. Otherwise, great service from Zappos. Will wait for another style to come in.

Comfortable Boot - I've only worn them once so far, but felt they were very comfortable for a first wear!

Frye Harness 8R W - Loved the quality and look of the boot, unfortunately, it is about a half size too big. I will be returning the boot and will likely order the Frye Harness clog.

Dream Boots - I have wanted a pair of these boots since junior high, I think, and finally got around to buying them. Why did I wait so long? I wore these out the night I got them and they took almost no breaking in (a little rubbing under the ankle bone on my right foot, but that went away after a few days), and I got no less than three compliments on them that first night. I double dog dare you to walk in these boots with no swagger - I swear it can't be done. My new favorite boots!

My new boots - I love my new boots-think they're hot. I gave them 4 for comfort only because... Let's face it, it's not a tennis shoe so comfort is compromised. Anyway, I bought 1/2 size smaller which worked well.

I love them and they are totally comfortable. They feel a little bit bigger than an 8 but not enough to part with them to make an exchange!

I am glad I followed other's suggestions on sizing - I ordered a size up and found the fit fine, a little loose in the heel, but with socks not a problem. The leather takes a while to soften and shape to your foot, but they were still comfortable from the beginning. I wear these on my ranch and into town all the time - they look great with jeans & casual skirts and will last forever.

Love 'em! I love these boots. I've got thick calves, but these were no problem at all. They're a little wide in the shaft, but I think that it just looks more that way because they're shorter than the other boots. They aren't slouchy at all. I disagree with the reviewers who say that you should get a half size smaller... it was a really tight fit to get my foot through the ankle into the boot. Once it was in there's plenty of room, but I definitely had to use the loops.

Good boots - I’m not sure I can wear these boots with skirts, because I have skinny legs and the top is so wide. Isn’t it the style to wear the taller version w/skirts? I have the shorter brown pair and they are perfect to wear with wider-legged or flared jeans. I wear the boot under my jeans, rather than tucking my jeans in. the boot pokes my slimmer jeans out in the front, which I don't like (has anyone had their boots taken in at the seams?). Overall I’m happy w/them and they are comfortable. The tilted-in heel provides excellent leverage for pulling, which makes sense if you ride horses and hog-tie cattle (or any other tug-of-war type of activity). yee-haw!
