I got these in the lighter color that looks distressed. I really like them. The taller ones didn't fit my calves which are 14.5 inches around. So these are perfect. I wear them with jean, slacks and skirts. I think the shorter boots are more versatile anyway. I have worn them on a farm in the dirt and riding a horse, to work and out to dinner. The dirt just kind of shakes off somehow. As others have said they are a bit slim in the toes, so I don't do any major hiking or long walks in them. I know they are going to break in and get better and more like a shoe glove. I am happy that the Fryes I always wanted are as great as I had hoped. Bite the bullet. Get the good ones.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 or 10. People said that these ran big and to order down, so I ordered a 9 1/2. I couldn't even get my foot in the boot. The 10 fit fine however. Great boot, however!

Cute cowboy style boot - not for me though. Runs very narrow. I have found that my issue with Fryes is that I must go 1/2 size down from my regular size of 7.5, but they are really hard to get on until/unless they stretch out because of my high arches. Ordered engineer 8Rs instead and love them. The harness leather feels more stiff than the engineer.

Confident, Poised, Gorgeous, you will embody all these when wearing the Frye Boots, I kid you not. These boots make you walk with more panache. Buy a pair or two NOW. Don't delay, your inner siren wants out!!!

These look great - but I prefer the dark brown - have ordered both. This leather is almost nubuck and flat - but really cool just the same. Wish I could keep both. By the way, these run at least 1/2 size big. Had originally ordered another color in 7 1/2 (I'm normally a 7.5 or 8) - and had to order 7 - and there is still plenty of room in those. Even thought about ordering 6.5. So just be aware, these run big. Great boots!

It took many exchanges before I found a style of Frye boot that worked for me. My main problem was the flare at the top of the boots. I like to wear them under jeans. This pair is perfect to wear under jeans! I usually wear a size 10 (narrow foot) and I attempted the 9.5 first (following other reviewers). I had to go down to a size 9. They fit! I'm keeping them! Now, if they only came in red....

Size was huge! Need a half size smaller. My heel completely slipped out while walking.

I just received these boots for Christmas and love them. The fit is more comfortable than I thought. Usually I need to put insoles in my Frye boots since they tend to have hard soles, but these are very comfortable and don't need them. A must buy!

I love these boots. I have a couple pairs of Frye boots and like them all for their fit and durability, but these I love.

I had three different Frye styles sent, and this is the one that I thought I would probably not choose because I've had them in the past and they're such a old style. Well...guess what...they won the contest. They are as good as always and always look the best on my feet. They do run big. I am always an 8 1/2 and usually a 9 and these fit me perfectly in size 8.

Absolutely gorgeous, but the fit is about 1/2 a size bigger than my foot. You may want to order a size smaller than you usually get.

Returned my regular size 8 for a 7.5 with amazing turn-around time and customer service, as usual. The boots have great color, feel wonderful, love them!

An amazing boot, and my husband loves them too! The first try on is difficult, so hang in there and they get easier to pull on afterward. I ordered an 8 and usually wear an 8 1/2, sometimes a 9. A classic boot that will surpass all the trends!

Really comfy cool boot. I dont know though if I agree that these run true to size. I have a narrow long foot, size 11 and they were definitely not too wide. They actually fit quite well in the width, but do slip a little. I added an arch support orthotic, and they are wonderful. Great with jeans, I wear them almost daily. Really worth the money.

I normally wear an 8B, and had to go down a whole size to 7. These were very hard to get on at first, but have loosened up with wearing. Now the boots are very comfortable and I love them!

Great pair of boots. I am a reliable size 8, but had to order a 1/2 size smaller. They need to be broken in, but I can wear them all day and be comfortable now.

These boots are so good looking in person! They are very comfortable also. I ordered my regular size even though some reviews said to size down. I'm glad I ordered my regular size because if I'd sized down I don't think I would've been able to get them on my foot. I find they fit true to size.

I LOVE these boots. They look great and I get a lot of compliments. They are INSANELY uncomfortable. I hear they will take a long time to soften up. I will be wearing ‘em forever so I got time.

My sister in law had these boots and I really liked them so I went online and found them at Zappos where she said I would, received them within a week and love them . They are very comfortable so much so that I wore them for 2 days in a row and got sore feet. I should have broken them in but; they are fine now. Also I am glad that a review said you need to go down a half size otherwise they would have been too big.

Awesome Boots! Just what I’ve been looking for. I am sure that I will be wearing them for many years to come! My only regret is that I should have ordered a 1/2 size down. After wearing them for a while, however, they seem to mold to your feet and don’t slip around much at all (which is why I elected not to exchange them).

I have looked at these boots for a long time and finally splurged on them. I have loved them from the moment I put them on. I walk a lot in my job and have no complaints. I mainly wear Keens due to heel pain, but with these boots, I have had no pain at all. They are great.

Only 1 word can be used to describe the service at Zappos. Amazing! First off the price was by far the lowest I had seen online and on top of that the shipping was so fast, I have never received an item as quickly as this. I placed my order at 2pm Tuesday and received the item (in excellent condition I might add) before 12pm the next day. I was really happy and would definitely shop with them again.

There is nothing like a pair of Frye boots. They have magic powers. I bought my first pair in 1975 and I still have them, too. These boots are great after walking around the house in them for about an hour. They do run big like all Fryes; get a half size smaller. I also wear thick socks. The heel slips a little but it is not uncomfortable at all. Just put on a pair of Fryes and feel the power! They're worth every penny and they never wear out. Unlike other boots, age makes Fryes even better!

A true classic. When I first tried these on, I thought "no way". They were really difficult to get on and hard as a rock. So I tried wearing them around the house because the reviews were so good, and to my amazement they took less than an hour to break in. I think I'll be wearing these every day because they are so cool. Frye boots last forever and these are a forever style.

These are very comfortable boots. They take a little breaking in, but I have worn them for a full day of walking and Xmas shopping with no complaints. I have a fairly slender foot and not a high instep and do have to squeeze a little to get my foot in. I ended up with a half-size smaller than I usually take and wear a medium-weight sock as well. They are not too warm for San Diego winter!
