Adore these boots! The 8" height is a little "edgy" looking compared to the 12" which has a more standard "cowboy" boot look. Look great in an urban or a mountain resort setting. Skinny jeans worn inside the boot or a wider-flared jean, these are my go-to boot! I headed the other reviews and ordered a half-size smaller in size for a perfect fit. I have a narrower foot and the width was perfect when worn with socks.

I am very happy with these boots! I went down a half size for these, and they fit me well, even with my high arches and wide feet. They are so cool looking, very comfortable, and I think they will last as long as I will! They are classics, so even 20 years from now they will look good. Yay!

Love these boots! From the minute I opened the box you can see the quality and craftsmanship of this boot. They fit perfectly! I wear a size nine and that is what I ordered. They are so so comfortable! Made in America is the way to go! I will order Frye boots again and again!

I bought these boots through Zappos years ago...at least 5 years, maybe more like 7. I bought them in red and I still wear them all through spring, fall, and winter (not in deep snow or on ice). They have worn beautifully and are still in great condition. I do treat the leather throughout the winter months and I'm sure it has helped. If you struggle with paying this much money for a pair of boots, know these are worth it. I was also on the fence at the time regarding sizing, as I wear a 9 1/2 or 10. I did go with the 91/2 - good thing, because over time they do stretch. If I had the 10, they'd be clunky. Frye makes great boots and Zappos is the place to get them.

These are beautiful boots. Amazing quality and American made. But they do run large. I wear 8 1/2 in shoes, 8 in cowboy boots...Tony Lama, Ariat, etc. Size 8 in my older Frye Campus lace-ups. Ordered 8 but too much slipping when I walk so returning for 7 1/2. I do not have wide feet so that may be an issue. When I sit down and slide my foot all the way to the back, I do feel room to slide to the front. I'm returning to order a 7 1/2. As I said, really fantastic boots, they just run large. Can't wait 'til I get the smaller size because I do love the boots. Zappos is amazing...ordered yesterday afternoon and received UPS today! Can't beat Zappos! Easier than driving to stores searching and trying on there!

These are great! I've wanted these for several years and decided to invest in them this winter. The customer service at Zappos was excellent. They are true to size -don't order up!

I ordered these in the Tan Leather color that is shown. It is not the same color as shown at all. It is much lighter in color, so I returned them for another pair.

I went through about 8 rounds of buying and returning before I finally found the perfect Frye boot. I'm normally a 9 or a 9.5, and I tried both in a couple different leathers before dropping to an 8 and then finally settling on an 8.5 in the tan and it was perfect. It only took a couple hours of walking around my house before they were broken in, and now I'm obsessed with them. They're fantastic, and I'm a loyal Frye fan for life!

This is the best looking pair of boots I've ever had. It's true to size and fairly comfortable. It took me about a week to break it in, and I use it all the time. So happy with my purchase!

I can only say one thing about these: stunning! I ordered these as a super-early birthday present for myself and they're my first pair of Frye boots. I wasn't sure what size to get as I've read that they run big or small and went ahead and got the 8 in the tan. My feet fit comfortably in them with boot socks on and I can tell they'll be amazing once broken in. These are the perfect height if you have a muscular/thick calf like I do!

Absolutely wonderful. I love how basic but rocker and country I feel when I put these on my feet. They are statement boots that are so subtle, you are effortlessly rocking everyone's world.

I love these boots. Great looking and comfortable. I followed some of the advice and ordered a 1/2 size down. This was a mistake and I needed my true size.

I've never owned a pair of boots that were comfortable right out of the box. These are my new favorite boots!. True to size and worn just right. So versatile I can wear them with everything.

These boots are so hot I can barely stand it! Others have suggested to order 1/2 size smaller, but it is so hard to get these things on that I had to return and get my regular size. Invest in a metal shoehorn before you get these bad boys home. When I first tried to put them on it literally took 5 minutes to shove my foot into the boot, I was exhausted and didn't even try to put the other on until I found a shoehorn, but now that I have one all is well...enjoy your boots!

The first boot from Zappos I've kept, and here's why... I hemmed and hawed about ordering these boots, but decided that there was no harm in trying. When I first slipped them on, I wasn't sure about them because there was a fair amount of slipping, but I think those who call it normal are correct to do so. My heels slip up and down, and it feels right. (I normally wear an 8 because I have very wide feet, even though I technically am a 7.) As soon as I put on a heavier sock, they were perfect. I haven't really taken them off since. They're not super cushion-y, so I think the thicker socks are a must. They felt a little narrow at first -- on my feet -- but loosened up instantly, and the width is comfortable. They look great and I feel like a million bucks. Yay, Frye!
