Love the boot! Great looking and comfortable. Ordering is confusing because gaucho is actually dark brown in color and color labeled dark brown is a mottled light brown. Pictures on website are correct so go by picture not by color description.

I couldn\'t have been happier with these boots. I had ordered these and another pair. I returned the other pair and definitely made the right choice. I walked for four days in Sturgis in these immediately after buying them. My feet weren\'t sore!

I have been considering ordering these boots for almost two years and I finally did it. I was so convinced that they wouldn't fit, but thankfully they really do. I'm about 5'2" and wear a size 7 in athletic shoes. I got a size 6 in these and they're just right. I typically have issues with boots being too tight on my calves, but these end at just the right height. I can't wait to start wearing them on a regular basis! I think they'll be great for nasty winter weather in a few months.

These are the most comfortable Frye Boots I have ever worn...and right out of the box, not after wearing them for a while. I wear between a 7 1/2 and an 8, and the 7 1/2 fit perfectly. I'm going to get another pair before they sell out!

These boots rock! I work at a ranch but didn't want the typical "cowgirl" boot. Wanted something more swanky and these boots deliver! Very comfortable even walking out in pasture and in the dirt. Very durable and super well made with a great look that I can take into the city as well! What more could a girl want? Zappos is the best online store, bar none!

Zappos is the only online company that I will order shoes from. Simply wonderful service! I love these boots...comfortable and not incredibly bulky. I am between an 8.5 and 9. I ordered 8.5 and there is enough room for an insole to make it even more comfortable. They look great with skirts, shorts, dresses, really everything. Interestingly, it is a sweet and sexy look. When I am not wearing them, I smile when I see them sitting on the floor!

These boots are so cute. Wear them with a skirt or denim shorts and they're sexy. They're tight going on at first, but after a full day of wear, they feel as if you've worn them your whole life. They look better with scratches and scrapes and scuffs, so don't worry about really getting out there with them. I have arthritis in my sacro joint and wore these boots a full day in the Magic Kingdom with my daughter. At the end of the day, my feet were a touch sore - but not my sacro, which usually throbs. The heel is the perfect height to take pressure off of that joint and stretch the quad and hip flexors for sacro pain relief while still being comfortable enough to literally run in. So for me, they're extra perfect.

I love these boots! I have wanted these boots for ages but just didn\'t pull the trigger. I\'m so glad I did. They are extremely comfortable, and the soles aren\'t slippery on the snow like I thought they would be, which means I can wear them year round. They look great with dresses or jeans, and I wear them with or without thick socks, depending on the weather. The leather is super durable without being too stiff, so I anticipate these boots lasting a long time. They also look great with skirts, dresses, or jeans. They are an investment!

These boots rock!! So cute and they will never go out of style. Because they are Frye boots, the quality is the best. These boots will last a lifetime. They definitely run true to size. A bit tight to get on at first, but all quality boots should fit like that. They are made to stretch and conform to your foot. After a few wears they will fit like your comfiest pair of slippers. Definitely worth the splurge!! And Zappos just makes it so darn easy. Give em a try... If you don't like send em back on their dime. Love shopping Zappos!!!!

These boots rock, couldn't wait for them to arrive. Great look, feel and quality. However..I had to return them because they were so painful in the calf. Just too tight. Really hated to return them and hope they will make these with a bit more room in them so I can re-order them again at some point. Zappos of course as we all know is always awesome.

I love these boots from the moment I put them on! I actually got them for a trip to NY in January and they were perfect. I wore them for 2 days before I left and then spent every day in them. They were very comfortable from day one. I ordered a 9.5. I can sometimes be a 10 or 9.5 depending on the shoe, but 9.5 fits perfectly.

O it is love... after breaking them in that is. Also, the insides stain your socks, so watch out yo. Other than that, it is a sturdy, reliable boot that commands equal parts attention and envy. I get a lot of compliments. Perfect for wearing during winter weather and with floral dresses. Thumbs up.

Another GREAT boot from Frye! First-rate leather, workmanship, and overall quality. I wear size 8, ordered size 8, and it fit perfectly. My only complaint is that the leather is stiff at first wearing and there's some stitching at the top, rear edge that rubs the back of my calf. Wearing with leggings, tights, or knee socks eliminates the rub...but I'm concerned that wearing these with bare legs = ouch!

Where do I start? These boots are high quality, comfortable, and stylish. They are comfortable right out of the box, which is unusual for heavy boots like these. I did have some problem with the right front shaft chafing my leg like some other reviewers. However the solution was easy- a band-aid on the shin or a pair of thick socks. A note on size: these are TRUE TO SIZE, unlike Engineer 15R which is half a size smaller than marked in my opinion.

These boots are awesome. I was looking for heavy boots that I could slip on and off and that look a little like motorcycle boots. These are perfect. Not hard to get on and off and able to withstand the elements.

I have wanted these boots for a few years and finally bought them as a birthday present to me! I love them. Just plain cool boots. The fit is correct. I did have some trouble pulling them on the first few times, but the leather loosens and it’s no longer a problem. I’m sure they will last forever.

I love the style of this boot. A bit stiff when first putting them on, but they will soften with wear. The quality of the leather is great. Reminds me of the Frye boots I wore years back. They look great with skinny jeans tucked in or even with wider leg jeans over the boot. I bought a half size smaller than my usual size and they fit just right. Zappos shipping is super fast. The customer service is above and beyond... thank you!

Oh my gosh! I just got these within the past hour (ordered yesterday-- love you Zappos!) from the UPS guy and have tried them on with leggings and with skirts sans leggings-- they look awesome! I requested an email reminder when my size 6.5 in black would arrive at Zappos and within a week or two, they became available, and I ordered ASAP yesterday! Ladies, the heel is why this boot makes your legs look skinnier, hah! It's the perfect height-- low enough in case you need to break into an emergency sprint, and high enough to give you an extra "oomph" or lift to your legs/stature/rear. Other boots that are mid-calf like this, with flat heels have always made my legs look thicker, emphasizing the most rounded parts of my calves, but these make the legs on my 5'2"-self look a ton better, especially my lower thighs, compared to even my trusty Veronica Slouch (tall) boots from Zappos which have a smaller heel! I wear a 6.5 and sometimes a 7, but ordered a 6.5 and it's the best-fitting pair of Fryes I've tried! Reference points: I wear a women's Ugg Classics and Ultra Talls (also from Zappos!) in 6. My Frye Veronica Slouch boots I kept in a size 7 are a tad loose on me, but these Engineers are perfect in length. My calf isn't the slimmest (13"around at widest) but these boots go up to around the 10-11" part just below the swell of the calf on me and fit well, leaving space! Arch support is terrific, and I love the rounded toe compared to my Harness 12Rs, which are long and pointed and give me occasional trouble if I run up stairs (toe gets caught between steps). I don't think I have a super-high arch, and my feet are med. width-- no issues whatsoever sliding my sock-clad feet into these boots.

These boots Rock!! Wore them walking through Boston the day out of the box. A little hard at first to get your foot in and out, and the dye comes off on your legs, but that is something I can live with.

Great boots! It seems like it might take a while to break them in, but the quality is amazing, and I can tell that they\'re going to be so comfortable. Look great with skirts, pants, leggings, etc. Love the gaucho color, too! I have some other Frye boots that I went down half a size for, but the engineer boot fits true to size.

I love these boots, they are very stylish, not as clunky as I expected and very comfortable. I am a 7.5 to an 8 normally and I took a 7.5 in these and they fit great. They are not as heavy as I anticipated, and very well made. They are somewhat comparable to the feel of a Dansko (not quite as comfortable), but feels like good arch support. The only issue that I have is that the back of the top of the boot is a bit rough and can rub against your skin, maybe some moleskin will help. The color leather is a bit strange as it can tend to look like rubber almost, rather than leather. The brown boots (gaucho) are a beautiful color. I ended up buying both colors and keeping them.

I absolutely love my new Frye boots. They are not only very comfortable but I wear them with my dress up clothes or my when going casual with jeans. They go with just about everything. You can\'t go wrong with these boots and the price is great! Worth every cent and they will last a lifetime.

These are a must have boot. Hard to break in, but oh so worth it, on my second pair. I was wearing the brown with everything and decided I needed the black ones. Forgot how hard it was to break them in. They do fit true to size, just a bit tough at first, then they fit like a glove, so comfortable. Also, so cool. Have had compliments from men and women. I've seen them in pricey catalogs at a much higher price.

These boots rock! I\'ve purchased boots this fall and winter, but the Engineer 12R are by far superior to the others. The construction and design make these boots functional yet attractive. They are a little stiff so wear them in order to break them in, it won\'t take long! They look great with any outfit.

These boots are perfection. They are exactly what I was hoping for: comfortable, great fit, nice quality, look great with everything.
