Cute, rugged, but a little too tough. I have always been a fan of boots, having ridden horses my whole life, so these really fit my lifestyle and need (run around town and can still go to the barn without ruining my good shoes). They look good, are high quality, but in the future, I will stay away from boots that are this short. The leather is sturdy and it hits me right in the shin above my ankle. If my socks don't stay pulled up, I get a sore spot where the top of the boot hits my leg. A good pair of thick socks will remedy this, however, thick socks make it difficult to get the boot on since it is snug around the ankle (not a fun task when you are 7 months pregnant). I see that many people comment about their heels slipping in Frye boots. That is actually a trait you want in boots… so I have always been told. And my heel does slip. Since they are a good fit, it does not cause any irritation. I'm not going to send them back, but I will try to find some good socks that work.

So comfortable but the heel is too roomy for me. Almost the perfect work and even walking boot. I bought this for the sole that is supposed to be good on ice; Vibram. If this fit, it would be incredible. Soft inside, pretty good support.

I got these in the mail today, and I was thrilled at first. The right one fits great, and I cannot get the left one onto my foot. Period. It's not "difficult" or "challenging"; I literally cannot get it on. So they're going back. Sad, really, because I adore the look.

I was not impressed with these boots. They are extremely well made, and would probably last 50 years. So whyu would Frye choose to use cheap buckles on such an expensively made boot? It just blew my mind. The metal on the buckle was actually bent, it was so thin, cheap, and too shiny. They should have used a much thicker buckle made of brass. It just does not make sense. Also, the boot was extremely stiff and hard on the top of my foot. Totally uncomfortable. I own a pair of Frye Harness boots and I love them so I was really disappointed when I received these. Sent them back in a hurry!

I love these boots! Perfect and beautiful and comfortable!

Accidentally hit the check out button and slightly panicked, but I’d finally justified it enough to put them in the cart in the first place, so... They’re great. They’re everything I always wanted them to be and more. I am in live with them and I have to stop myself from wearing them every day. They’re comfy, gorgeous, excellent quality and Zappos service is impeccable, as always.

I bought these boots literally 10 years ago and I still wear them 8 months out of the year and they're still awesome.

Love these boots

I have wanted a pair of Frye boots for a long time but was hesitant because of the price. However these boots went on sale and I got the last pair in my size. They are a beautiful pair of leather boots. I read many reviews and ordered a size 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 8 since I have a small bunion on my left foot. I was able to add more arch support with insoles since the toe box is wider. I love the burnished brown color. The short height makes them versatile; I can wear them in the fall, winter and spring with leggings and skirts. Thank you to all those people who wrote detailed reviews since they helped in looking for the type of boot I wanted. So happy with my purchase!

I already own a pair of Frye engineers boots that I have had for 3 years, and they are great! This shoe is true to size, stiff the first few uses, but then the leather softens and it feels like heaven on your feet. The leather is a great durable quality, and the sole is very durable as well. I have used Frye boots for many years and this was another added to my collection.

Love these boots, better than expected! A little stiff & hard to get on at first, just need to be worn a couple of times to break them in.

Great looking boot that I wear out on the town when I want to be casual but fancy!

I lusted after these boots for a very long time before buying them. They were a little pricier than I liked, but worth every penny. I get a ton of compliments on them, and they're super comfy.

Nice leather boots. Very comfortable. I felt the strap and buckle looked a little cheaply made. The strap on the side made side of the boot wrinkle a little.

The big price tag on Frye will get high quality, classic boot that will last forever. I've had these boots for 10 years and they look as good as ever. Not a stitch has come off and the leather is amazing--I wear these through snow, rain, and muck. They are somewhat stiff but comfortable. One downside I've seen with other reviewers is true--the boot can be hard to put on/kick off if you have a high arch. As with most Frye boots, better for them to be a bit large vs a snug fit.
