I ordered two pairs of the Ghost Max 2 as I was so excited for the new version. Let me start of by saying I absolutely LOVE Ghost Max 1 tennis shoes. I have so many pairs of them but I am NOT loving the new version. I am going to have to return the pair I ordered a 6 1/2 wide in as they are just too snug. I am going to have to try the pair I ordered the 7 in and see how they compare. I really need wide but the color I bought the size 7 in does not come in wide. Also, the support and cloud like feeling you get in the first version is nothing like the new version. The Ghost Max 2 fits smaller, snugger, and the overall feeling is no where as comfortable as the Ghost Max 1. I really wanted to buy another pair of the Ghost Max 1 but noticed they are marked down and I can't get my Ambassador discount so the old version actually is more expensive for me than the new version. Like I said Ghost Max 1 is so much better in my opinion. Will be returning at least one pair if not both. Sorry, but I hope the feedback helps.

The new Ghost Max 2 shoes have a very puffy long tongue on the shoe and it hurt both of my ankles to the point that I had to return them.

Love that Brooks is now carrying womens size 11.5! I am trying to work with this shoe. I have very sensitive feet:( Its not as comfortable as the original Ghost Max, feels firmer and the underfoot feels bumpy and annoying under my foot. Brooks runs small for me, some brands I can wear an 11, but in Brooks I definitely need an 11.5 I tried a mens 10 in the original but I have a narrow heal so the heel slipped. The Glycerin 21 is the most comfortable shoe I own, fits me perfectly but the 10mm drop starts to hurt my forefoot if I wear it for too long. I was pretty excited when I saw there will be a Glycerin Max, but sadly it looks like its got a really high stack:( Too much for me.
Im hoping the Ghost Max 2 will break in and soften up.

This is my first pair of Ghost Max. Im a regular ghost person normally, but was encouraged to try them for work. I work in a hospital and am on my feet most of the day. Lets just say they were great! Even wore them for my daily walk ( sorry not a runner) and was impressed. I seemed to bounce forward and my walking pace was increased. I did return them for a half size bigger. My normal size seemed a little short. The bigger size was just right. I recommend for those on their feet all day and for the non-runner.

It just wasnt my shoe. I run 20-30 miles a week and have had foot issues so that maybe the problem. After running about a half a mile I felt my medial ankle and knee starting to hurt and I shut it down. Cushion was great with walking. Sent them back

Shoe runs small. Ive always worn an 8.5, but had to size up to 9 in these shoes. I even tried a different color to be sure. I like that the rocker isnt as aggressive. I dont like it for runs. It just doesnt do much for me in that way, but I like it for walking and day to day things.

I loved the look of these shoes, and the initial feel. They have a good bounce to them, without feeling unstable. However, they are somewhat narrow in the heel area. The first run I went on, I realized I would get blisters if I continued to use them. I switched to my old shoes for running, and tried to break them in by walking. I also tried wearing thick socks and using a hair dryer to warm the heel up a bit, to no avail. I can wear them comfortably for shorter walks, but nothing more. I wish the heel part was just a little less snug, because I otherwise love the shoe! Looks nice, feels stable yet with a good spring, and isnt too warm of a fabric for the summer heat!

Im 21 weeks pregnant so Ive been using my Ghost Max 2s mostly for walking and casual wear. Theyre very comfortable and very, very cute! I can see these being my go to running shoe postpartum.

I have the Ghost 15 in blue and in black and have been waiting for an all-white version (neon or multi-colored trainers aren't for me). THANK YOU for making a white trainer! These are even more comfortable straight out of the box. The removable insole is great for custom-made orthotics. The amount of roll at the toe is EVERYTHING to me because a bone spur on top of my toe prevents a full range of motion. I especially love these for travel. I'm holding out for an "all-weather" Brooks sneaker someday. Water repellant spray won't prevent soaking in a downpour.

Im happy with the shoe as a whole. Lots of great cushion and comfort! There is just a little something along the outer edges that I feel as I run that doesnt allow me to give the shoe a 5 star rating. Im not sure if its built that way intentionally for those who pronate, but Im not one of those and dont need any outer edge built up so it feels little annoying.

For context, I am 130lbs and run 20-30 miles per week.
Unfortunately, I am sending mine back due to fit. I LOVE the Ghost Max 1 and I was super excited about these new color ways with the Ghost Max 2. I am bummed.
The Good:
New colorways are great
The nitrogen infused sole is an improvement over the Ghost Max 1
The Bad:
The new toe box is cramped. I wear an 8.5 regular in the Ghost Max 1 and I feel I need a 9 wide in these.
The upper on the Ebony (which is so beautiful) is very constrictive and not as breathable as the Ghost Max 1.
Suggestions to the Brooks design team: bring back the upper material and roominess of the Ghost Max 1 with the nitrogen sole and colorways of Ghost Max 2 for a perfect shoe.

Love them! I love my Max 1s, but they feel a little weird when walking in them to and from my run because the cushion is super spongy. I only use them for running, so Ive loved them. For the max 2s, the cushion definitely is lighter (weight wise) and more structured. GREAT RUN!

Unfortunately, I will be sending them back. The shoe just did not fit my foot well. The arch support is minimal, the shoe itself is very stiff.

Overall I think this is a good everyday training shoe. Nothing significant that is negative. I have run in the original ghost max and really for me that is what I did my comparison. The shoes seem to have a little less cushion than the original. The shoe does seem to have a higher stack than the original I couldnt find the actual height. Also it does feel a bit more stable. All of things together doesnt make for a worse shoe, for some these will be improvements. For reference I took the shoe on a 5 mile interval session and a 11 mile run.

I have always worn an 11 in every single tennis shoe i've bought in the last 20 years and these are so incredibly small it was shocking. My toes were fully at the top of the shoe and rubbing. I've never had that problem with an athletic shoe before, and have had many brooks. Very disappointed.

These definitely run at least 1/2 size small. I wish I had not worn them (only about 3 times) trying to see if they would break in as I am sure I cannot return them now. They never did get comfortable and did not "stretch" and my toes are not happy when wearing them. I have never had a problem with Brooks shoes fitting right of the box, until now, and I have had many, many pairs over the years. Definitely money down the drain.
I'd also recommend:
I wouldn't. Have always loved Brooks until now.
