The 4E Nike Monarchs are the only shoes my husband can buy without having to try them on first. They always fit consistently. I only wish they came in more colors.

Shoes fit my wide feet really well. Comfortable and a great value for the money.

The last 6 pairs of Air Monarch's I've purchased since 2009 have gotten progressively worse as far as squeaking and groaning while walking. I won't pay good money for a supposedly "Quality" shoe that is obviously manufactured with a known flaw.

This may be kind of an "old school" shoe - but it is very comfortable. This is my second or third pair.

Do not buy this sneaker! I cannot stress this enough. I bought a pair of these about a month ago from Zappos here, and for a while, these were great. Now, they have developed the infamous "Squeak" problem that others have warned about. Before I bought these, I thought this was just a problem with 1 or 2 people for some reason. But now, after doing a search on the web, it seems this is a well known problem with these Nike shoes, and other Nike Air products. I will be contacting Zappos to see if I can still return these, but my guess is that now that I have worn them for about a month I can no longer return them for a refund. So you have been warned. Do not buy these shoes, unless you like to sound like a clown walking down the hall. Search the web yourself, for "Nike Air Monarch Squeak" and you will get almost 10,000 references. The only solution I've found that people suggest is to rip out the insole, put in some powder or oil and then put the sole back in. If Zappos cannot take mine back, that is what I will have to revert to. Nike should not sell these products until this problem is fixed.

It's my husband's fourth pair of Nike Air Monarchs. They are extremely comfortable to wear all day and work well with jeans. Great for slightly narrow feet as well.

Great shoes, that squeak might get annoying but I'd buy them again.

I have bought several styles of shoe new balance, rock port, reebok, skeechers, you name it i tried them. I am a manager in retail and these are about the most comfortable pair os sneekers I ever bought. I was dissapointed at the life it's about 6 months every pair but well worth the comfort. And zappos had my shoes ou the next day and were at my house the day after that. They have won a new customer.

I am very satisfied with the new Monarch IV. I've been buying Monarch for years and this newest brand is comparable to the past Monarch style.

I have worm the Monarch series for 12+ years.Good fit and value but the last three pairs (I wear out 2 pairs a year doing serious walking) have all developed loud squeaks. The shoe is super comfortable and durable and would be OK for casual wear. The squeak seems to develop under heavy use and is so loud it is annoying to people around me. If the new pair starts to squeak I will be looking for another shoe.

I have to say, these are by far the best sneakers I have ever owned. These will be my fourth pair. My first in black. I also own the red, black and white design. I currently bought another pair of those with the black pair. Never needs to be broken in. Very comfortable shoe with superior support. Highly recommend this sneaker.

These are conformable, affordable good all around shoes. I use mine for work. I am on my feet all day and the Monarch has lots of cushioning.

I've worn the Air Monarch for many years. I haven't been able to find a sneaker that is even close as far as comfort. As mentioned by others sometimes the shoe develops a very annoying squeak...anyone that finds a solution to this please let me know! This is the only complaint I have ever had about this shoe. Also, would love to know if there is a shoe without squeak that is as comfortable.

Although I was excited about these shoes and the price...they were not good! They felt great when on my feet. Once you start walking they made this horrible squeaking noise. Did not matter if I walked on grass, cement, wood floors or carpet, everyone would know I was coming. I first thought I had to break them in, nope! I tried working out in them and still could not get past the squeakiness. Maybe I got a bad shipment. I gave them away to my little brother.

Put powder under insole. Should kill squeak, according to what I've read.

I've been buying the Nike Air Monarch for years. I love the way they fit. I have wide feet, but the regular width fits just fine! I always replace the insole with a Spenco insole for arch support. As always, Zappos is the best for service!

Nike makes an excellent shoe at an excellent price. Fits and feels great!

The shoe looks great, feels great but after about a week of wear I noticed they make a horrible squeaking noise with every step you take. It wouldn't be too bad if the squeaking was slight but this is a pretty loud squeak. I will never buy this pair of shoes again. I am now stuck with this pair of shoes.

This is my first time buying a pair of sneakers in years and I'm sure glad I found these on line. Have not taken them off yet. Feel great on my feet. And they look nice as well.

This is the only sneaker my husband will wear and Zappos makes it so easy to shop for him! Easy to find and a great price, I order two pair twice a year and he is all set - thanks Zappos!

I use These shoes for work and they are pretty comfortable, but then again i always change out my insoles. I wore these shoes for about a week and started to notice they are very loud when i walk. it sounds very loud in a quite hallway, with every step it sounds like im stepping on a frog.

I have to say that these shoes are the best I have purchased they fit well and are very comfortable.

Everyone's feet are different, of course, but most Nike shoes seem to be tailor made for my feet. I have wide feet, so I order the shoes in 4EEE. These Nike shoes are comfortable but are also quiet even when walking on shiny, linoleum tiled floors, like most workplaces. I've had these for a few months now and they're still comfortable, but is squeaking a bit. Shoelaces do stay tied and not much wear so far.

What an overall great shoe. If you need extra cushioning with support, this is the shoe for you. I wear a dark uniform for work and need all black shoes. This shoe combines style with comfort and durability, all at a much lower price than you would expect (Bonus - they come in wide widths!). As for Zappos, what a great company...expediency with top-notch customer service. Only 2-day standard delivery!

Got the Nike's very quickly and they are really comfy and supportive. However, after about 3 weeks of wear, they are starting to squeak. I had another pair of the air monarchs with the same problem but I thought Nike had resolved the problem. Not so - these squeak so I try to wear in places where the squeak won't be noticeable. These would be perfect if they were quiet.
