Getting a lot of compliments on the look of these sneakers. Bought them primarily because I do a lot of walking, and so far they are very comfortable. My only issue is that they are creaky-sounding sneakers, which I hope will diminish as they wear in. The soles are particularly noisy when wet, also.

I have been buying the Nike Air Monarch for a number of years. This is the best all around cross trainer that I have found. it fits great and supports my feet perfectly.

Very sharp appearance. Green Nike swoosh makes all the difference in a sporty look. Could use a bit more cushioning but all the monarchs could use the same. Monarchs overall are very durable, comfortable and affordable.

Love Zappos, both the web site and the service. Thanks for the great inventory selection. I do not recommend this shoe. They have changed the design or assembly to the point that after half a day of wearing the shoes have an annoying squeak. Thanks You Tube for the "fix" I found on line that eliminated, for now the noise. Come on Nike really! This is clearly not the quality product these shoes use to be.

The comfort of the shoe is great; however, the downside is about a week or so after wearing, the show starts to squeak really bad...always on the left shoe. I even returned a pair to get a new pair, but to no avail it started squeaking. It is very obnoxious. Maybe I just got a bad batch?

This is a great shoe, feels a little heavy at first, but I got used to it quickly. This shoe provides great arch support and allows my feet to be comfortable all day without wearing me out.

Nice shoes! Insole offers a ton of cushy comfort and give - a very soft footbed - more so than any other shoe I've worn. Haven't had any issues yet with "squeaks", but am not particularly concerned with that, since a bit of foot powder or cornstarch will surely fix it, if it happens. The insole apparently can't be removed, which means I don't have room to use my orthotic insoles. The insole felt glued down when I started tugging at it, and I was concerned that it might somehow be integrated as part of some air chamber. I tried wearing the orthotic with the insole in place, but it resulted in my toes hitting the front of the shoe and was uncomfortable because of this contact with the shoe. One final note - the sole of the shoe, when viewed from the side, it pretty thick. I think it looks a bit odd - kind of like some platform shoe from the 1970s or something. It doesn't really bother me that much, but it's just a bit odd - perhaps due to that air chamber, which is what perhaps makes this shoe so comfortable.

The shoe is comfortable and well made, and suits my purpose well. It is too early to tell how long it will last, but I have high hopes. I had tried the shoe in local stores first, but could not find the combination I wanted of size, width, and color. Hence Zappos, which promptly sent exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price.

My first Zappos purchase. I shopped several stores locally and was told these only come in white and not in wide sizes. Checking Zappos...a nicer color and in 4E. So easy to shop. Love it!

Working for Fedex I wear out a pair of shoes about once a year! I've been wearing these same shoes for many years now, most comfortbale shoe I've ever found! I will keep ording them as long as Nike keeps making them!! If you're on your feet all day this is your shoe!!

The Monarchs are "acceptable." I have very wide feet, and I typically buy New Balance running shoes. I needed a pair of cross trainers for the gym, and the Nike Air Monarchs were inexpensive and available in my wide shoe size. For my purpose - cross training - they're fine. I do notice they rub my toes somewhat, which tells me they're not a great fit for my own feet. If I had to wear these all day, or walk a long distance in them, I suspect I wouldn't be a happy camper. Style is fine. Good 'nuff for the gym.

This is the 4th pair of Monarchs I have purchased (the 5th pair is an all black pair I ordered with this pair). My husband has extremely wide, flat feet & has never been able to find comfy sneakers...until now! The fact that these come in wide, makes all the difference for someone with flat feet. Never stop making these!

I love this shoe! I work in retail and stand all day. I usually purchase Skechers because of the width of my feet, but this was a wonderful solution. This is my first pair of Nike's since I was a kid and I just ordered my second pair. If you're looking for a great shoe that can hold up at work but stay comfy all day, look no further!

Well like everyone else said, they squeak, and it started after a few days of wearing them. I am going to see if I can live with the noise, it is loud, not bad when walking on carpet, but who gets to walk on carpet everyday with a shoe that was meant to be used with activity generally outdoors. They are very comfortable shoes, and I did write to Nike about this. Here is their reply " Response Via Email (Bruce) 10:10 AM Hi Craig, Thank you for writing Nike. It's great to hear you have a pair of Monarchs and I am sorry they squeak. Do you have any baby powder? I know it is a weird question, but baby powder might help stop the squeaking. If you do, try taking out the insole and pour some powder inside. Make sure you move the powder all around the inside, before you pour it back out. Put the insole back in and the squeaking should stop. If the squeaking doesn't stop and you feel this is a material or manufacturing flaw, we have a claim process that can help. Checking with the retailer can often times result in getting you back into a new pair of Nike’s much sooner than returning them directly to us. If the retailer is unable to assist, we have a backup process in place that can. We cover our footwear against potential workmanship or manufacturing flaws for up to two years from the date of manufacture. You can find this date printed on the tag on the inside of the shoe just above the barcode." I will send them back before I try the powder cause I think that is just masking the problem Nike has, if they keep getting enough sent back I would hope they correct this defect.

Nike Air Monarch IV are the only sneaker / shoe I wear. Not only is my size available (8.5 Extra Wide), but it is the only one to have the arch in exactly the right spot for my feet, no other brand or model is as comfortable. And they are durable!

My husband loves these shoes. They provide great arch support and are comfortable for someone on his feet much of the day. The only drawback is that after a while (months), the soles get squeaky. Then we have to replace the old pair with a new pair of Nike Air Monarchs.

I was wary of getting a pair of these based on another review that indicated the shoes squeak. I figured -- it's Zappos. If they squeak when I wear them, I'll call them up and return the pair. Well, they do squeak, but only after about a month of using them. Maybe the glue binding the air bladders to the shoe have failed, but they are loud and make me sound like I'm walking on a wet sponge with every step. Now I have to find new shoes.

The shoes are stylish. The only problem I have is that squeak on many surfaces. Hope that goes away. Comfortable, and roomy though.

My son says they are very comfortable, but heavy. We bought them for school and wore the first pair out by Christmas break, this is my second pair. I hope they make the rest of the year.

These are great. My teen has very very wide feet, normally we get him wide or double wide shoes and they almost always go back when he can't get his feet into them. These work! And they are cute! Highly recommend!

This is a great, lesser expensive sneaker. If you require a wide sneaker this is truly wide. Forget about the squeaking complaints. If it occurs, simply pull out the insert and load the sneak up with baby powder, pour out excess, put the insert back in and your good to go. It's a great sneaker for the price. Love them, it's my third pair.

I'm on my 7th pair of these. They are good but they do tend to squeak after some time. I will continue to purchase them. I think they are better than New Balance.

I wear xxwide width shoes, which are hard to find. These are the only pair that Nike makes that are xxwide. I almost bought these pair of shoes from Nike.com. They were less per pair, and with shipping and tax cost a lot. Luckily for me, I searched further, and found this pair for even less, no tax, no shipping. I have run in these for a month and I like them a lot.

I've worn Monarch's for around two years now and yes this last style is hit and miss with the squeaking noise, but it can be fixed just watch the videos on Youtube and no problem. Should a new pair of shoes need this kind of treatment? No, but I have yet to find another shoe as comfortable for wearing all day. I've put Zappos through hell trying everything under the sun with what others claimed as "all day comfort shoes" even Brooks Beast, Addiction walkers, Sketchers work etc... I'm talking al least 5 pairs of shoes tried and returned. (THANK YOU SO MUCH ZAPPOS FOR YOUR GREAT SERVICE AND RETURN POLICY) But alas, I'm right back where I started with the Monarch and I truly hope they never stop making this shoe I have no idea what I'll do! Thank you again Zappos for dealing with me and my picky feet, you have a customer for life who is very grateful for your help and understanding.

My fiance only wears these type of running shoes. He loves them. They are great for people who need extra support for bad knees or any other issues. Also the price was great here!
