Sanita

Sanita

Since 1907, Sanita® has embraced the Danish word "hygge" (pronounced hue-guh) in the construction of each and every pair of Sanita clogs. Loosely translated, "hygge" means "making everything cozy". Clean design, natural materials and fine craftsmanship are just a few things that make Sanita clogs so special. Christian Andersen, Sanita's founder, utilized these three things to help make Sanita what it is today. Andersen left his career as a farmer forever when he began creating clogs out of wood. After a half-century of building the business, Christen and his son Johannes closed their successful store and completely devoted themselves to designing and distributing footwear. This risky maneuver paid off in the early 1980's.

1983 marked a definitive year for Sanita - that's the year that Christian discovered a factory in Italy that made cast soles out of polyurethane. This innovate new technology allowed Sanita to shape clog bottoms to fit the anatomical shape of the foot. With heel, arch and toe support and added shock absorption, the polyurethane heel combined with the upturned toe of the Sanita clog provided unmatched comfort and launched each and every step with a simple rolling motion. Thus, the Sanita Original Collection (then the San-Flex) was born and is still made in Europe.

Clogs have been a worker's choice for years. Anyone who stands on their feet all day knows the benefits of wearing a finely crafted clog. More recently, clogs have become a fashion statement as well and can be seen on the feet of the fashionable worldwide. For the past 25 years, Sanita has continued to innovate with superior design, materials and hand-crafted European construction. Other Sanita collections such as the Leisure Collection, Occupational Collection, Wave Collection and Vegan Collection cater to the specific needs of the Sanita customer and have helped Sanita further separate itself from other clog companies.

These were to replace a current scruffy pair, same color & style. The sizing is off, they are narrower and about 1/2 size shorter. The color is a yellowish hue and new shoes don't match each other! (see photo of my old pair and these new ones). One shoe looks like it has been stretched. This pair should be sent back to Sanita.

These looked so cute, but...the strap that fastens to the outside of your foot is so far forward that my pinky toe was trying to fall out the side. I was comtemplating if there was some way to live with that because I liked how they looked. Then I walked around in them a bit and they got more uncomfortable by the minute. That dark "V" you see on the side of the sole isn't decoration. It is foam, all the way through, holding the 2 wooden ends of the sole together. It very quickly began to give and it felt like my foot was getting pinched between the 2 ends.

I need a stiff-soled shoe to help with toe pain, and this shoe is certainly that, but they're so stiff it's almost difficult to walk. I felt like I was clomping around. Unfortunately, they're just not that comfortable. My toe may not hurt wearing these shoes, but the rest of my foot will.

I wish I returned these before wearing them outside. The silver staples around the base stands out.. they should have been navy or black.. they are not even stapled evenly around, making the clogs look cheap. Otherwise, I like the look but not worth the price.

I have a pair of Sanita clogs from several years ago and love them but these were very narrow and tight in the same exact size (39). I usually wear a women’s 8 with slightly wide feet but couldn’t even get one of my feet in these. I also didn’t like the black/brown color combo in person. Guess I’m going back to Danskos for my next pair since all I ever really want to wear are clogs.

I had a pair Sanita Professional clogs from early 2010's. After a brief break-in period, those clogs were very comfortable. I wore them frequently as a trainee, but not much in the last several years. My responsibilities at work recently changed and I started to wear clogs again. The old clogs had signs of wear, so I ordered replacements in the same size (45). Comparing them side by side, the new clogs were shorter. I returned them for a size up (46). The 46 seemed like the right length - although now I wish I had considered a 47. The fit seemed ok initially but after a day of work, pinky toes on both feet had blisters. The toe box on the current 46 size is more narrow than the toe box of the old 45 size. I am not an expert on leather quality but it seems like the textured leather on the current models is not of the same quality as the flat grain leather of older Sanita Professional oiled leather clogs. I would pay a higher price to have new clogs that were as nice as my original pair.

I’ve been searching for heeled clogs that are more mule, less dansko pro but These are wider than the dansko narrow so would not work. They are very stylish but don’t fit my narrow high arch foot. Also the green is lighter than I expected. Not so much an army green. I would describe as mint. Nice for spring or summer

I bought a size larger than my normal sanita size because of reviews saying they run small. The right shoe fit a little large. The left one was GINORMOUS!! Most Sanitas are really good but this Koi line just can not get it right. I am trying my normal size but have feeling they will not be same size between right and left. (I have tried the Koi line a couple times). They are super cute! But they are getting returned. ?

I love these shoes, unfortunately I was sent a defective pair. The inner lining of the left shoe was folded up inside to the point I couldn’t even put my food in.

I'm not sure why some found there to be little arch support. For a really light sandal, it is totally fine. Do not expect a heavy Dansko-like shoe here. Exceptionally comfortable. A little more color-rich than shown in photos, but still a gorgeous blue/green summery shade. You can't bend the soldsice, that's how steady it is. Very flattering. Great purchase. Comfortable in that way that nothing feels too tight. LOVE THESE!!!

I am SOOO thrilled that Sanita has brought back this classic! THANK YOU, SANITA! I have been looking for this shoe for years and every substitute or similar style is just not as good. These are way more comfortable than sneakers for me. Please keep producing this style! I bought the petrol and the color is as pictured--slightly grayish, slightly tealish medium-light blue. I'm actually pretty frugal with shoes but just returned to purchase this in the 2 other colors as it's the only shoe I'm going to wear and I know they last forever (hoping the old sole issue with cracking/disintegrating after several years when used in hot weather is solved, too) :)

Nice shoes, thought about keeping it if worn with heavy socks but that just isn't my style so am returning them. Sanitas are one of my favorites but they are inconsistent in sizing. I have a more narrow foot so decided to order the next smaller size in two styles -- one fit and one didn't. Both were nice shoes so am keeping the one that fit and returning the other.

My first pair of Sanita clogs and I love them! I'm usually a 38 regular and these fit perfectly. I love the construction, design, and color of my Ripley clogs. They also feel so much lighter wearing them all day long than my Dansko. Been wearing professional Danskos for quite awhile and I must say that I'm a huge fan of Sanita now. Looking forward to wearing more of them.

If you have narrow, skinny feet, this Sanita is for you. If you have ordinary average width feet, don't even bother buying this Sanita. I couldn't even fit my foot inside the shoe to try it on. Couldn't even slide my foot past the halfway point. It's a gorgeous Sanita, but it's made for narrow feet.

These run a size smaller than my previous experiences with Sanita. Had to return my normal 39 to get a 40, which fit nicely. Unfortunately, my employment that I had purchased them for has come to an end while I had waited with the delayed shipping. No fault of Zappos. Shoes are cute!

These clogs are gorgeous... and a little sparkly! I’ve worn 39 Sanitas since forever, but had to return these for a 40. I cannot explain that, it could be my feet got bigger... but I doubt that. I’m loving these comfy shoes.

This is my second review after finding the 41 extremely small for my 10-10.5 foot. I was so excited that 42 was restocked so I ordered. While the 41 seemed like an entire size too small, the 42 is huge. I’ve now given up on the Dansko/sanita professional style clog. :(

Love the shoe & patterns are always fun Saints & Dansko NEED to make wide width shoes in more colors & styles As people get older more foot issue arise you’re not making it very accommodating for the wider foot folks. Seriously should rethink the show width options - PLEASE

These run WAY small, especially the instep (I think this is the part opposite the arch). I wear size 7.5-8 US and 38 European, and typically size up to 39 for Sanitas because I like them roomy. I couldn't even get my feet into these shoes in 39.
