Sanita

Since 1907, Sanita® has embraced the Danish word "hygge" (pronounced hue-guh) in the construction of each and every pair of Sanita clogs. Loosely translated, "hygge" means "making everything cozy". Clean design, natural materials and fine craftsmanship are just a few things that make Sanita clogs so special. Christian Andersen, Sanita's founder, utilized these three things to help make Sanita what it is today. Andersen left his career as a farmer forever when he began creating clogs out of wood. After a half-century of building the business, Christen and his son Johannes closed their successful store and completely devoted themselves to designing and distributing footwear. This risky maneuver paid off in the early 1980's.

1983 marked a definitive year for Sanita - that's the year that Christian discovered a factory in Italy that made cast soles out of polyurethane. This innovate new technology allowed Sanita to shape clog bottoms to fit the anatomical shape of the foot. With heel, arch and toe support and added shock absorption, the polyurethane heel combined with the upturned toe of the Sanita clog provided unmatched comfort and launched each and every step with a simple rolling motion. Thus, the Sanita Original Collection (then the San-Flex) was born and is still made in Europe.

Clogs have been a worker's choice for years. Anyone who stands on their feet all day knows the benefits of wearing a finely crafted clog. More recently, clogs have become a fashion statement as well and can be seen on the feet of the fashionable worldwide. For the past 25 years, Sanita has continued to innovate with superior design, materials and hand-crafted European construction. Other Sanita collections such as the Leisure Collection, Occupational Collection, Wave Collection and Vegan Collection cater to the specific needs of the Sanita customer and have helped Sanita further separate itself from other clog companies.

Very narrow with no stretch or give. Couldn't even get my foot half way in the sandal. Disappointed!

I love these clogs! I work as a nurse and am on my feet 12.5 hours a day. I was in desperate need of more supportive shoes. After wearing these I have less back pain and my feet feel great after work. Would 10/10 recommend!

I couldn’t possibly love my Sanita clogs more! I teach in them all day, and come home to my working home and work several more hours. There is no other shoe, loafer, clog, or boot that supports like my Sanitas or stands up to the pure abuse I put them through. These clogs are super well made and sturdy lasting literally years of full time hard core wear. Although I have tried the Danskos, they don’t fit nearly as well over my high metatarsal arches, slip in the heel, and don’t wear as well. I feel invincible in my Sanitas! ??

Danskos just don't work for me (too wide for my narrow feet), so I'm happy to have found these Santia's. I think they will need an initial break in period, but otherwise should work out just perfectly. I'm nomrally a 9.5-10 and went with the EU size 41.

Jury still out on this one. I love the shoes they are beautiful for sure! I wear Danskos every day of my life but this shoe fits fine on my right foot and seems a bit short on my left foot so my toe rubs. today is my first day wearining them but fear I may need to return them due to the fit which makes me sad

I have had a pair of these shoes in this style and size for years. When they wear out I just buy the same ones over again in the same size. This pair though- I HATE them! Even though I purchased the same size I had before they are not the same size shoe. I should have returned them, but I thought I just needed to break them in. The leather is very stiff and unyielding and will not mold to my feet. Now, I cannot return them and I have spent my shoe budget so I cannot afford to get a new size so I am trying to make these shoes work. This really puts me off buying on line if the maker changes up the sizing.

I wear 39 regular in dansko. I have a D ball and an A heel. Reading the reviews about how tight this brand feels and all of the reviews says they run small I decided on a 39 Wide. Well big mistake. My feet are swimming in them. I have to return. Bummer I go to work tomorrow so another day in my 7yr old dansko they are barely holding it together. I’m hoping this brand will last and be as good with support as my my danskos. Switched brands b/c dansko discontinued the style I love.

These shoes are beautiful and comfortable. The problem I had was my feet are wide and these shoes are expensive; 135ish. When they cracked on the sides after about 7 months it ruined them. I think perhaps the full leather ones would have more give.

These run small. I wear a 40 in Dansko clogs, but these were short in the toebox and tight in the top of the foot. Style is OK. I wish they had other designs and materials in their vegan line.

I normally wear women's 9.5 (in Nike or Puma sneakers). I ordered 41 but it was too small (would need 42). My toes touched the front and the instep was a bit tight. I really liked them because they are made in Poland. The arch support is really great and the insole is padded so seems like it would be very comfortable if fits properly. The Sanita Pro Cabrio finish is a tiny bit less shiny than the Dansko Pro Cabrio also the Dansko insole is not padded, has less arch support and the instep is very low. I decided that I like Dansko fit more but was sad because I do not like that most US shoes are made in China. I wish the Sanita fit my foot better because I really wanted to keep it -- mainly because of where it was manufactured. I think it is best is to order both brands in two sizes and keep the one that fits better -- they have very subtle differences but will make a big difference in the fit. Just for reference, I was replacing my old Dansko Cabrio clogs (size 41) because the plastic heel slider cap cracked -- I had them for over 10 years and loved them, they still looked very good, were super comfortable and they were made in Poland! Apparently before Dansko moved it's manufacturang to China, it made its clogs in Poland by hand.

I'm super happy with these. I used to wear clogs a lot but not in recent years. I went looking for classic clogs, not black, and the bordeaux in these Sanita clogs is a great color. Even better, they are super comfortable. I have wide feet (D) and average instep, and one reason I tried these is the reviews that said they worked for wide feet. Hooray! Also somehow they do not look wide or heavy, they have a nice line to them. I like them better than the Danskos that have a high, boxy toe.

Ok, this clog was much roomier than I expected but that's what I wanted since I have wide and thick feet. This is the dilemma having size 5 feet with a D width - most designers assume that women with small feet come narrow too. I was also surprised by the fact that despite being very roomy that they stayed on my feet while walking. Perhaps this is due to the arch support. If you have my width problems, you'll love these shoes!

I'm excited to wear these- the cushioned footbed is so nice, so I hope the support is there. Tried them on barefoot and there's a small stitching imperfection that really irritates my arch. Nothing mole skin can't fix, but I would've liked to wear them out of the box and not do any preparation.

I am so upset with Sanitas! I have been wearing their clogs for YEARS! The only shoes I wear anymore. I've bought 5 pairs in the last 10 years, always consistent with size. I always wear the textured oil professional brown closed clogs in narrow. Suddenly, their sizing is completely off and as far as I can tell, they seem to be discontinuing the style I've been wearing. It's nearly impossible to find narrow in size 40. When I finally did, they are all to short in length or not narrow. I've now tried 6 times through different website. Thought I 'd try this new style which looks exactly like the ones I always buy. Nope, sizing is wrong. Had to return.

Sanita clogs are the bomb. My feet are small and I have a bunion so wide shoes are necessary. Thank Heavens that Sanita makes 5s in wide! Why di so many shoe manufacturers think if your foot is small, it can’t be wide? Such nonsense... anyway Sanita and Zappos have my business until the day I die.
