Sanita

Sanita Logo
Sanita

Since 1907, Sanita® has embraced the Danish word "hygge" (pronounced hue-guh) in the construction of each and every pair of Sanita clogs. Loosely translated, "hygge" means "making everything cozy". Clean design, natural materials and fine craftsmanship are just a few things that make Sanita clogs so special. Christian Andersen, Sanita's founder, utilized these three things to help make Sanita what it is today. Andersen left his career as a farmer forever when he began creating clogs out of wood. After a half-century of building the business, Christen and his son Johannes closed their successful store and completely devoted themselves to designing and distributing footwear. This risky maneuver paid off in the early 1980's.

1983 marked a definitive year for Sanita - that's the year that Christian discovered a factory in Italy that made cast soles out of polyurethane. This innovate new technology allowed Sanita to shape clog bottoms to fit the anatomical shape of the foot. With heel, arch and toe support and added shock absorption, the polyurethane heel combined with the upturned toe of the Sanita clog provided unmatched comfort and launched each and every step with a simple rolling motion. Thus, the Sanita Original Collection (then the San-Flex) was born and is still made in Europe.

Clogs have been a worker's choice for years. Anyone who stands on their feet all day knows the benefits of wearing a finely crafted clog. More recently, clogs have become a fashion statement as well and can be seen on the feet of the fashionable worldwide. For the past 25 years, Sanita has continued to innovate with superior design, materials and hand-crafted European construction. Other Sanita collections such as the Leisure Collection, Occupational Collection, Wave Collection and Vegan Collection cater to the specific needs of the Sanita customer and have helped Sanita further separate itself from other clog companies.

Cute shoes and quite comfortable EXCEPT for a seam that runs along the side of the shoe which rubbed on my pinky toe. I wanted to wear them without socks and the seam made that impossible so had to return them. Disappointed because they fit well and had a nice arch support.

Really liked the style and fit. It truly gripped the foot. Unfortunately, it felt a little short in the length

Hi, The fit is a little snug, but with wear will probably give a bit. I love these clogs, however the thing that I am unsatisfied with is the ability to easily scuff. It leaves white marks - which completely takes off the thin layer of silver and exposes the white underneath.

I have worn size 39 in Dansko for decades and have moderately wide feet. I bought the 39 and 40 based on reviews. The 40 was overall just too big. The 39 fit in length, heel and at the widest part of my foot, but the instep was way too tight for my foot. I had trouble even get the clog on. I thought about having them stretched professionally, but if that didn't work, I couldn't return them. I really love the look, the silver color and the quality, but neither size fit my foot.

Would definitely order 1 size down. I always wear a size 44 in Birkenstock and Dansko, these were too large. They are more narrow than Birki's so that is good as it is hard to find those in a narrow. Still had plenty of room.

I wear a 38 in Dansko, so technically, I should wear a 39 in Sanita, but these 38s slid right on. I am very happy with the fit! I really like the color and have to disagree with other reviewers about how the colors don't really show up. My co-workers noticed the purples and blues and sparkles. We do work under florescent lights though. This style feels more stable than my other Sanitas and the pattern on the sole is clearly more grippy than other pairs I have. I totally recommend!

These are beautiful shoes and the color is great. However, I tried them in a M width and they were very large even with thick socks so I returned them and ordered the narrow one. I was disappointed that it was not comfortable as I do have a rather narrow foot so I am returning it as well. These are such nice shoes and I have several pair that fit and are comfortable but this brand doesn't seem to be consistent on fit for me.

Really liked the quality and style of the shoe and wish it would have worked for me however it felt like a full size larger than I normally wear. I also have a Mortons Neuroma in my left foot which makes it hard to find shoes that don't cause discomfort. With this shoe my feet slide forward so I know it wouldn't be good for me. Super cute and would be very comfortable for most.

I admittedly have weird feet. (High arches and very narrow through the foot and heel. The width was perfect, but the length feels like maybe a quarter larger because the heel slides more than some other clogs I’ve tried. Overall I’m very satisfied though. Shoe is dressy enough for office and casual enough for outdoors.

I’m disappointed in how thin the leather is. It is lined in a white fabric to make it more durable, but a scuff eats through the leather easily and shows the lining. It is almost impossible to stain, paint, sharpie black. It also wears along the top band without any good reason, showing the white there, too. Comfortable, but a waste of money. I’ve has a lot of Danskos but had fit problems so switched to Sanita. These shoes should last for years.

I was very excited to buy these vegan clogs by Sanita from Zappos - I love the design & colors, etc. However I am, to date, extremely disappointed in the fit of these clogs. They are SUPER uncomfortable to wear especially across the instep. I have been trying to break them in for quite some time now by wearing them with thin socks and they still hurt my feet like hell. I emphasize that the socks are thin because, as tight as these clogs fit, I don't see how I could even wear thick socks with them. I'm especially disappointed because there is nothing unusual about my feet with respect to width, arch, or anything else. I wear a size 8 - period - I am a perfectly average size 8. The sizing for these clogs clearly states "8-8.5". So a "8 to 8.5" should certainly not feel too tight and yet these do. Sanita should be much more diligent about labeling their sizes correctly. The "8-8.5" is in reality a 7 to 7.5, with respect to American-sizing anyway. Sanita also needs to label their clog colors accurately - they call this clog "blue" which is a joke. The clog has no blue whatsoever - it is gray/silver/black. Zappos was kind enough to refund my money in full for these clogs which I very much appreciate.

This shoe runs wide! I have a regular width foot and ordered a regular width. I couldn't even keep my foot in the shoe. I may try a narrow in the future.

I'm usually a 6-6.5 and the 37 worked best. I work on my feet a lot and bought these shoes over the Summer to get me through a long project.....and I've worn them almost everyday since! I have A LOT of back & hip problems, and while I can't claim that these eliminate my pain, it helps to at least walk in shoes that feel comfortable all day. My only problem with these is that I got large scuffs on both of them, and I thought I brushed up against something white, but it turns out the silver just buffed right off of these! So unfortunately, they already look like junky house shoes (or strictly project shoes). Would maybe buy again, but that's a lot of money to spend on shoes that are going to damage that easily.

After trying multiple danskos and not loving the fit for my foot, I’m so happy I tried these! They are so comfortable, feel very supportive and look nice - more molded to your foot than Dansko. Bought the grey and it looks cute with everything!

These are my favorite clogs. They fit my foot better than Dansko as they offer better arch support in the right place for my foot. They are comfortable from the moment you put them on do not need any break-in time.

These shoes are the best in the world. Because each pair is slightly different, I often have to try a couple of pairs to find two shoes that work for me, but when I do, they are heaven. I live in them except when the weather calls for boots, sandals, or dressing up. Because my foot tends to be narrow, these work for me. I find that the Dansko clogs are too wide. Please Sanita keep making them!

I have worn these shoes for years. Sometimes, if I'm wearing heavy socks I get a 40. Otherwise a 39 is my size. These 39's arrived and I can't get my foot into them. What the heck is going on? Could they be mismarked? Needless to say they must go back.

I have been wearing Sanita's for years. I have 2 pairs that I bought several years ago and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. So I ordered a new pair in black feeling very confident that I knew what I was doing. The size I normally wear are now 1/2 size too small so had to order up to next size. However, the fit is off. The toe bed now has a dip in the leather which my current shoes do not have. This dip rubs on the bone of my big toe causing pain and not able to stand having them on for more than a minute. They are definitely going back! I am SO disappointed as these are hands down better than any other shoe i've owned up until now. I will hang on to old shoes until they wear out which may be some time as I've owned them for 10 years now. Too bad. I may have to bite the bullet and buy Dansko.

This shoe fit just right. I have flexible arch with a medium foot and narrow heel. I liked I could adjust with buckle to make vamp tighter. Purchased this Sanita because of calcification on tendon at back of ankle plus bursitis. A higher heel was recommended by podiatrist. I’ve had Dansko shoe a few years ago but the heels were too high for the other foot with fusion bunion surgery. This particular shoe has a lower heel but still s good arch. Worked well for me and would recommend it. I also like that innersole was padded and the rim on vamp was padded.

This shoe has the great fit that Sanita usually has. I didn't like the color (was needing brown) and this doesn't look much like brown so I am returning it. They are very unique and would have kept if I had not needed a specific look.

I am so happy to have found Sanita's! I love this style shoe for work because I stand on my feet a lot and am short. These shoes make me 2 inches taller! I find the Sanita's wide width to be a little wider than the Dansko's I have tried before. (Both great shoes but I need an extremely wide width.)

I so wanted to love these, the style is super cute but they just don’t fit me. Too small & too narrow. Initially they felt okay thought I just needed to break it in. My feet were in agony & my toes were cramped at the end of the day. I figured I needed the wide width do I ordered but still too tight & felt like the length increased. I will give a favorable rating for style & quality but the fit and comfort was horrible.
