I use them in the extreme arctic inside a pair of NEOS overshoe boots. With or without the NEOS, they're durable, dry and the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Don't ever change this style, design, color, fit, etc.

These big bad boots are tough as nails and super comfortable. If you've been disappointed in other brands like I have. Get a pair of Timberland PRO Boondocks and make your feet happy.

do not know why people complain about hooks when lacing.boot has great design as it ALSO has eyelets if you do not want to use hooks. read a review where one guy cut off hooks and installed eyelets. why?

I work for the railroad in Pontiac Michigan. These boots are great in the cold with loads of insulation, grip and stability, plus great protection from heavy equipment falling or stepping on sharp objects. They are a bit heavy so if you have knee problems, be aware before purchasing.

First thing I noticed is how comfortable they were, second I noticed how aggressive the tread is on the bottom (which was desired), and lastly I noticed only three eyelets for the boots. I prefer to have more eyelets since I find the boots becomes loose easier after time than my last pair with more eyelets. I have taken them through puddles and feet stay dry, they are also warm in the winter. I did not find the need to wear heavy socks in colder weather. So far I have no complaints, although I wish they were a little less expensive.

This is my second pair of Timberland PRO series boots. Last year, prior to a rather unpleasant winter, I bough the Hyperion Pro workboot, and I truly have loved them. They are durable, well-made, and great looking. The Hyperion got me through a lot of inclement weather and a lot of long days on my feet and are without question the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. They are holding up remarkably well, thanks in part to the great sole and sturdy construction, but I also take good care of them. I decided to buy a second pair of them so that I have a change and can prolong their life, so of course I came to Zappo's (the best place to buy footwear) since I already knew the right size. BTW, the sizes run true to size/width. I take a 9.5M and they fit perfectly. I was hesitant buying the first pair because for a boot, I sometimes will wear either heavier socks in the extreme cold weather - was never an issue with these, and they provide great insulation. The PRO Boondock boot surpasses the Hyperion in my mind in comfort. I'm not sure the specifics of the change that was made between last year and the Hyperion vs Boondock...but this boot feels like strapping two small clouds to my feet. They aren't clumsy or overly bulky. It's a formidable boot, don't get me wrong. Super strength steel toe and terrific leather upper that is 100% waterproof. I love the aggressive sole/tread and the slip-out anti-fatigue insert! This is the best pair of anything I have ever bought and my feet thank me! If you are on the fence about spending this muchfor a pair of boots - consider that you cannot find a more durable, well-made product on the market by a company (Timberland) that has amazing customer service and sold by a company (Zappos) that sets the standard in customer satisfaction! You are going to love these boots.

I work 10-12 hours a day 6-7 days a week and I am on my feet on concrete floors the whole time. These boots are very comfortable and offer great protection. They are a little on the heavy side but not too much. If they hold up as well as the other Timberland Pro boots I have worn over the years I will definitely buy them again.

Overall it's a great boot. The pain in my heal is gone - so far it's the only boot to do this. The reason for 4 stars: the 6 inch boot causes what's called "lace bite", which results in sore ankles. This is due to lack of padding around the lace/eyelet area. Get this fixed and I will edit my review to 5 stars.

Love this boot have been buying them for 8 years. 3 pairs in the time. First time buying steal toe. The composite toe is super strong and easier to break in. Will buy again, just as soft composite.

These are the only boots I've purchased more than once, because of the support and comfort they offer.
However.
If you get stuck out in the rain, or work with wet cutting tools, consider your day ruined. I wear water proof pants that cover the tops, it's my toes that always get soaked through. These are "water resistant," at best. I highly recommend coating them with a waterproof spray or a similar product if you are at risk of working in a wet environment.

first time trying TimPro. i typically wear wide size and with this boot they really were wide....almost too wide. recommend trying a size narrower. waterproofing started to fail a little when walking consistently in 5-7" of snow all day during work (amazon in the trailer yard) during and after a snow storm whipped through. but this waterproofing isn't gortex so i suppose it wasn't to bad. rainy weather will do great. all in all a true to size, comfortable no insole needed boot. i am over six feet and 240lb with good feet and they did great and are holding up good even 8 months in.

These boots are great except for the fact that the top of the boot on the back is extremely hard. I can't lace them all the way up because there is no flex on the top back of the boot. It will rub your leg raw. Other than they they are a great warm boot.

I work in a warehouse and on my feet all day. Went thru 3 other brands because my feet would KILL after every shift. Timberlands have been the only shoe/boot I can wear long term and not be in pain.

Very comfortable everyday workboot. Fit is bigger then expected. I would recommend going 1-1 sizes down. I normally wear a mens 10 in sneakers and an 8 fits perfect for me.

I waxed it. After one run through mud however, the shine was gone. It's not flashy at all. Heavy if you're not accustomed to the weight. I would say that the flexible upper portion of the shoe flap should be easier to modify to my own foot, meaning, it felt too loose even with the laces tight.

This is my 3rd pair of boondock. They last about 2 years. Having a problem with left boot this time, socks will not stay up. Boots are a bit heavy.

The leather on the outside was a little scratched up when received but it will get that way when worn anyways otherwise than that the boots are perfect
