Xero has hit a grand slam with these! My favorites of my collection (5th pair)! Been wearing them as often as I can and I can't wait to get them into the water this summer! Love you guys!!

The shoes fit well, but not quite as comfortable as I'd hoped. The interior material feels kind of like fine grain sandpaper on my feet, meaning I can't wear them for extended periods of time. However, I purchased them to wear during hour-long Aqua classes and they work well enough for that. They do have exceptional soles that grip the pool floor, so I don't slip as much while working out. Before purchasing these, I'd been wearing Columbia water shoes - the absolute best I'd ever experienced. Sadly, Columbia no longer makes the style I'd loved for several years. I'd hoped at this price point, the Xero would be an equivalent replacement. The Xero is "almost" as good as the Columbia, but as stated, is less comfortable and provides slightly less balance in the water.
I'd also recommend:

The fit was a little snug but I managed. It’s true to size. I do better with a wider size but I managed to make it work. I like the style and sporty. Also, the shoe is comfortable considering the medium width.

I choose this style because the women's didn't have enough width in the body of the foot (Heels to toes) and made that pair impossible to get on. The men's had more room. I did swap out the laces because they were too short to allow the shoe to expand as wide as I needed. I replaced them with new elastic laces, just longer. It was super easy. I wear them everywhere - hiking, to the dog park, and walking around the county fairs where I live in Ohio. I love how my feet can breathe without being totally exposed like sandals. Since I hate socks I love that there are no rough seams in the toe area to give me blisters. Overall I love my pair.

Super comfortable, and easy to run around in all day. I really wore them in on a week long trip to Colorado. They held up great and didn't slow me down running around the mountain trails. They dry moderately fast but hiking in them wet caused them to rub a bit on my toe, but nothing to cause any mild irritation.

My only issues are 1) not great for walking on the beach as sand enters and abraids the top of your toes (if you are walking in the water it washes out so no problem. 2) sole very slippery against black tile lanes in swimming pool. On the plus side, very durable, holding up well after many creek, river, and ocean uses. Also the best fitting pair of shoes (water or not) that I have ever owned.

These are way too narrow if you have 2E wide feet. These are advertised as having a "wide toe box," so I was hopeful they might work for someone with wide feet, but they definitely do not. The toe box is only just slightly wider than standard pointy-toe shoes (and much narrower, than, say, Altras), and the midfoot is quite narrow. They seem like they'd be really great if they came in wide. They're very breathable and I like the design, but they're definitely designed for someone with narrow feet.

I really like the shoes, they just run small. I base everything off the Prio. If you wear a 13 in the Prio like me grab a 14 in these.

I really wanted to like these, esp since I already own and love other Xero shoes. They fit true and I was excited about the waterproof qualities. Unfortunately, the plastic'y feeling material bunched up on top of my foot when I walked and pinched on the top of my toes as I stepped forward. I tried manually creasing them in a better, more comfortable way but they just kept pinching as I walked. Very disappointed.

My husband wears a 9 1/2 dress shoe and size 10 tennis shoe. I ordered a 9 1/2 as a surprise for his birthday, after having read that water shoes should fit somewhat snugly to avoid chafing. When they came, I immediately realized that there was no way they would fit. I have gone back and ordered a full size up....fingers crossed that they actually fit. I hesitate to rate them because they have not yet been on his feet, but the sizing definitely felt WAAAAY off.

Mesh material tore in the front of the shoes almost immediately, will not but again. I bought the Xero shoes hiking boot, I hope they are constructed to perform as advertised. As far as the bare foot feel you will experience that and its benefits, I have bad knees but I love to hike, these shoes have strengthened my ankles feet and knees are doing fine, just cant stand the rocks Im picking up due to the torn mesh material in the front of the shoe. I suggest if you purchase these shoes for vigorous hikes then bring a needle and thread.

I initially thought that i again ordered a half size too small again after initially ordering the Mesa. But after wearing the shoes for a week or so, it seemed to get better.

I actually sent these shoes back as soon as I received them, as I did not trust they would hold up where I hike, because it is rough terrain, very rocky. I initially bought them for hikes where I have to cross streams as well. I was also afraid I would bruise the side of my feet since there is no protection at all on the sides. They look like really good shoes, just not appropriate for what I do. I swapped them for mesa shoes, and they make more sense to me.

The shoe has a slim sole and when you take all the packing out of the shoes in the box, the shoe uppers crinkle up because the sole is very thin. The color and style are great, but the look is a little strange because of the wrinkles in the front part of the shoe. This shoe is definitely for just water wear. It s too thin for walking over rocks, or other uneven surfaces.

The shoes arrived with a comfortable shape and good functionality, but with a powerful mildew odor. Despite being structurally a good shoe, no amount of washing in vinegar or other methods could remove the mildew odor. Unfortunately, I discarded the original box so I won't be able to return the shoes for credit. Nice shoes, but probably got damp during ocean shipment. If you buy these shoes, just check them first before discarding the shoe box.

I really loved this shoe.my feet were so cool at work, but within 1 month my toe broke thru the top webbing. My view is that there isnt enough of rubber to cover big toe. Like my Prios great shoe leather covers big toe area.I would have gave Aqua x a 5 star had it not been for this problem. Sorry but I do own 4 other Xero shoes. One is on way now. Thanks Xero shoes

REALLY wanted these to work and was happy when I found Xero because of the minimalist lines. Shipping was very quick and arrived well packaged.

Theyre comfortable to wear, the quality not so much. Colors on the sole bleed into each other, looks like they werent painted right. Very flimsy uppersole. The insoles are deteriorating quickly, and they got wet once. Definitely not worth the price. Dont get me wrong, theyre breathable which works for my feet. Not so water friendly, I slip in these too easily on wet surfaces being water shoes. Exchanging these for a different size was an easy process. They are true to size.

Full disclosure: I tried these shoes on tested them in my home on carpet but immediately made the decision to return them. They are very comfortable and have a generous toe box. However the potential durability of this shoe is going to be quite limited due to the materials it is constructed with. Other than the generous toe box the materials and construction are also similar to literally hundreds of cheaper water shoes that are 1/5 the price. I ordered several other pairs of water shoes at the same and they are of similar or better quality in terms of material. I need wider toe box shoes and will try other Xero shoes for that reason but the price in this case is not justified. People may use this as an ultra minimalist running shoe but I think there are others better (and more durable) for that as well.

I ordered these and when received them opened box and they were defective. One shoe the plastic part on the end of the lace that you pull on was not there. It looked as if it was torn off! I do not want or keep anything that arrives with a defect so I contacted your support person and told I want to return them immediately. He was not helpful wanted to charge me return shipping etc.
I called Xero shoes and ended up with the lady in your credit dept told her the story and she was wonderful she made all the arrangements so I could return them for full credit. Due to her I decided to exchange them for another pair slightly different color of the mens Prio shoes so now I have two pair of the Prio shoes. One pair I wear daily the other pair I will eventually use as a second pair. I feel your quality control on the Aqua X Sport I received was not good. Reason I did not exchange them for another pair is that when I receive something where the part you need to pull on daily is already missing then chances are it will happen again and I not willing to be bothered.
