I have used this shoe for several treadmill and outdoor runs. At first I was a bit skeptical about having a more padded shoe. I am used to shoes with almost no padding. But, I have to say these were awesome! They feel great on the foot, very natural and the shape made my strides feel effortless. I had no foot, leg, or back pain. I look forward to keep using them and would consider purchasing again in the future when i need an new pair!

The 4mm heel drop helps make the rocker more effective for uptempo runs. The midsole has a decent amount of flex so these shoes can be good on some easy trails you might mix into your road runs. The foam isn't quite as responsive as I'd like but it's plenty good enough for a daily trainer. The cushion to weight ratio is excellent!

I have given this a solid week to wear in and it just keeps getting more comfortable. The drop is perfect and I carry more weight on my calves and hamstrings, improved posture. Black color looks green in person - wear it with any black socks or clothes it's easy to tell. They breath pretty well, and were instantly comfortable all day.

I have used these shoes in the gym and running. The form of the shoe has a slight curve that makes running comfortable. The top of the shoe is not reinforced to avoid toe puncture over time.

Great for running but for me I'm not used to the wide shoes and felt really uncomfortable for me tried getting used to it by walking around my neighborhood for multiple hours a day but it's just not for me. If you are into running and wide shoes I would recommend these for you!

After running in zero drop for 3.5 years drop feels a little weird and will take some getting used to. Felt comfortable, probably just need transition time.

I was really excited about getting another pair of shoes from Alta because I loved my first pair I tried. But this pair was unfortunately not true to size. They felt a whole size smaller and hurt my feet so had to send them back.

I normally wear Escalantes in a wide. Love those. I wanted to try these and they have a stiff heel (plastic support panel) and feel narrow, fabric is stiff. I guess it was my bad not picking a wide size in another model. I don't like how these are not true zero drop and have a slight incline to them. This probably is more suited for running.

I love Altra sneakers! The 9.5 fit great...the problem was the the other half of the pair was a 9.5. Two differnt sized shoes in the same box. Back they go.

I ordered a pair of 9.5 Altra Experience Flow Blue. I received two shoes of different sizes. One 9.5 (right shoe) and one 9.0 (left shoe).
Dissapointed.
Sending them back for refund.

I have 5 pairs of Altra and love them! Got some for my son and he says they're narrow and no room in the toe box like I've told him.

I would like to rate these higher, but the heel hook is not usable with the length of laces provided. The heels of these shoes are very low and a little wide. They have good below ankle cushion and a proper heel hook secured the shoe just fine. It’s a great shoe but you can barely tie a knot once the heel hook is added. Absolutely no chance of double knotting the laces. It is very unfortunate I need to return these for different shoes because the laces are so short. I considered buying laces but at this price I’ll just find a shoe with adequate laces.

Light material, should be comfortable. It seems to fit like the Torin 6 I was hoping to replace, but for some reason I cannot identify, it causes shooting pain in my toes.

Got these for my husband who works 12 hour shifts in a very busy ER. Shoes were great … until one started squeaking with each step after about 3 weeks. Fortunately Zappos is allowing me to return them. Will be ordering the same pair again- hopefully minus the squeak!

I have struggled to find a right fitting Altra over the last 3 years. Altra shoes have gotten narrower and have a lot less volume!!! The woman's version did not fit me at all; I tried the mens hoping for a wider toe box fit. While the toe box was ok (wide, it still did not have enough volume for my toes), the heel area was too roomy for my narrow high heels. I could not get a good lock down (lacing with runners knot). Back of my heels felt friction. 1/2 size smaller felt more locked down but not enough space between big toe and front of shoe. With Zappos return policy, I could not try these running outside. - I prefer the traditional heel cup with cushion at the cusp, rather than unstructured low heel cup with the cushion sitting too low, wrong on my heels.

The experience flow is a good daily trainer, especially for those looking for the signature Altra toe box design. The EVA foam is firm and requires a a good amount of compression into the ground to get much pop out of the foam. The foam provides a good amount of protection while still compressing enough for some ground feel without bottoming out. It's really the rocker and overall geometry of the shoe paired with the foam that gives a smooth turnover and ride experience.
The outsole has great rubber coverage that is not in excess and the traction has held up well through 400 miles of pavement and unpaved trails with normal wear. The upper is breathable, comfortable and fits well. I do like the design of the upper. I changed out the laces after 75ish miles as they are much too long and came untied often during runs. I highly recommend different shoe laces.

If you're a fan of the original fit Escalante's this shoe will be a severe disappointment. The Escalante's are perfect for me in a US men size 8 1/2. Zero complaints. I bought the Flows because I wanted a little bit more protection underfoot and for my heel. The same size Standard Fit Flows are slightly longer, with no lockdown in the midfoot or heel. For me.
My feet slid forward in the shoes as I ran. I'm not a heel striker but on the occasion when I want to stretch out a little bit and loosen my stride I could feel the heel moving around. I didn't try a runner's knot because that would only solve half the problem, my foot would still slide forward. Apart from that the sole has a nice ride and was firmer than I expected. I really wanted to like these and expect they're just for a different foot.

Loved these shoes until I didn't. They feel great and was really enjoying them but 180 miles of exclusively running and the soles are shot! Disappointing experience from a company I like.

I bought this shoe for running a little over a month ago. It seemed comfortable at first, but has been unresponsive and kind of dead on every run I've taken them on. I probably should've waited for the Rivera 4 to come out, or gotten another pair of the Rivera 3. A little disappointing, as these will likely just sit in the closet.

I use these to road run. They are excellent for hills but I struggle to feel them out with flat surfaces. I will say that they are much better once you have them broke in. Took me 50 or so miles before they felt normal. After that the only real struggle is finding the right tightness for the laces. Overall pretty decent shoe

This version of the Exp is causing my arch to hurt. Prior versions are a lot more comfortable and worked better as daily trainer.

The extra cushioning around the sides of the heel cup inside the shoe were very uncomfortable. They were some kind of cushion nodules.

You will never compete with the classic Brooks beast running shoe. But You are coming to your senses- you need support support in a running shoe. Pronation, Supination do exist no matter how had you try to ignore. You are going back to the future .-John
