I honestly feel that the Glycerin 22 is rather overpriced. It does have a high tech cushion (that feels like gummy bears), great round toe, comfy ankle collar, long laces.....but the forefoot is where it gets cheap. The cushion feels like a speed bump under the ball of the foot, then quickly tapers off to the toes. My toes joints actually got sore after walking in them for a while, not a good sensation. If Brooks wouldn't have cut a corner here and continued the cushion farther up the front they would be much more comfortable and worth this price.

It's always frustrating when they redesign a shoe you usually count on, and the Glycerin 22s have made some good changes and some questionable ones! I have been wearing Brooks Glycerins 7.5 Medium for years. They used to be my go-to perfect shoe for my hard-to-fit foot issues (short, wide feet with a bunion, and I wear custom orthotics inserts). Cons: The toe box on this shoe is shorter and shallower than some previous models, so I may need to go up half a size (I tried a wide in my usual size, and that felt too wide everywhere). The sole has a much wider base than prior models (larger "footprint," if you will), so it will take some getting used to. They also redesigned something on top so that the tongue of the shoe is not wide enough to cover your sock/skin when you lace up—it's sort of a "corset" look!. Pro: The one pro is the added loop in back, which makes them a lot easier to get on (although depending on your pant length, it can also catch your pant cuffs).
