The latest version of this shoe is not up to the standards I expected from LLBean. These are just a good pair of shoes. The bison leather shoes under the Allagash name are far superior in construction. I'm disappointed that you chose to downgrade your offerings. I always thought you offered the best value with no compromise.

The product is good, my criticism is that I wanted the cordovan color instead they sent drown

Sadly, after receiving these shoes my husband realized they weren't the same style he wanted to replace (and that style is no longer available).

These cow leather mocs replaced much better, less expensive, & more stylish bison leather mocs that Bean formerly & rather recently sold by the same name. Excellent, I bought 2 pair of them, but the replacements are not at all the same. Their shiny finish obscures the far stiffer leather & much tighter fit. Their pinkish orange overly aggressive tread soles do not in any way go with the dressier dark brown mid-sole & polished dark upper, bearing an uncanny resemblance to competitor's from the land of timber. There is nothing "wrong" with these Bean copycats; they are simply over-priced & neither nearly as good quality nor as good-looking as the bisons they replaced. Recommend do not purchase & shop elsewhere.

These shoes run short so you need to order a half size or whole size larger than normal. ASAAA

These are not the same quality as the previous shoe. Uncomfortable and got worse after a few weeks.

The previous style in the Men's Allagash Bison Handsewns, Oxford (Item TC244472) was proven, durable, and functional. Please bring that one back.

I've had at least 5 pairs of the old version of this shoe with the black soles. The leather uppers last forever but the soles were bald after 2 years. I did complain (as many others did) in a past review. So LL Bean got the message and redesigned them with this super aggressive horrible color sole. Why couldn't you just get a longer lasting black sole?

Size ran very small in both width and length. I have worn size 12 medium for 50 years across a broad spectrum of shoe brands. This shoe deviated further than any i have owned. Quality of shoe did not reflect price. I have returned them.

The tongue on this shoe is too short - folds under when slipping it on. I am returning it. The pictures don't show the floppy laces either. Those I could maybe replace (and leave tied) but the difficulty in sliding my foot into the shoe is a deal breaker. I've worn similar L.L. Bean shoes for years and was looking for a replacement.

LL Bean formerly made best in leather moccasins and field shoes and boots. With this change clearly indicates you are no longer interested in quality. Sorry to see you making mistakes, and you will never get your loyal customer trust back.

I cannot add anything to this review. Just wanted you to sense how your customers feel. November 20, 2024 very disappointed Size Purchased: 11 Fit - Width: True to size I want to add my voice to the previous 9 who were longtime happy wearers of the the original. Your old style had class, which the new look totally lacks. Please listen to your loyal customers & bring back the real 'better than ever' original. Raise the prices if you need to. We who want quality bison mocs aren't going to 'settle' for your newer version. mocs still being made, the higher price will Steve Manchester, NH Thanks for your feedback

I've purchased this shoe many times and loved it, but the current style is poor replacement. Bring back the Men's Allagash Bison Handsewns, Oxford (Item TC244472). The tread on old sole was much better than the current one. Also, the current yellow sole is terrible for every day casual wear.

Have worn LL Bean moccasins for years, and have always been impressed with the quality and materials used in their manufacture...until now. I recently purchased a new pair, and couldn't have been more disappointed. The only saving grace is the LL Bean return policy.

I owned several of the old style --then comes this peculiar frankly ugly new version. I can't imagine why this was done, its so obviously poorer looking than the original. I see others have had this same reaction.

I have bought this shoe many times in the past; now it is time to replace them and you have changed the style? Why would you mess with something which was popular and perfect as it was; as a result, I wont be buying a pair this year. Just another example of LLBean losing the quality we always enjoyed.

What Bean did to a shoe I loved. Bought the old ones seven or eight times. Got many compliments on their look and style. Comfortable, well fitting. Now they look like a John Deere tractor tire. Bring back the old style, please.

I ordered these shoes about 5 years ago and loved them. I ordered again what looks like the exact same shoes less than a year ago but was shocked at the huge decrease in quality. The leather uppers looked like vinyl and the soles were not the thick, durable material of my initial purchase but a very light-weight sponge-like material that were certain not to last. I returned them immediately. Please, L.L. Bean, don't let your quality slip like this.

I've been buying a pair of those shoes every year for the past 7 or 8 years. Loved them. This year someone at LLBEAN decided that an ugly yellowish sole with a huge tractor thread would be a great idea. Well I was going to renew an order and saw the new look. The shoes are so ugly now that i will not reorder.

Originals were my favorite even though soles and heels weren't great as they picked up all sorts of crud to track indoors. These look to be even worse! Who in hl are the "wanna be's" designing your stuff???
