I made more then 1000 miles with the pursuite 1 . no cracks at all. The feeing with the pursuit 2 was still great the first 200 miles, but then the shoe started to break, see foto. I like the shoe but I'm not sure if I try pursuit 3 again. Is Topo able to retorne to the quality of the first version?

These may be great for people who like arch support and a LOT of cushioning, but they are simply not minimalist shoes. The heel is clearly elevated, there is a heck of a lot of cushioning, and there is a pronounced arch. If you want minimalist, go elsewhere.

Loved these for a few hundred miles, but then the heel cup developed a hole which wore down to the hard material underneath and became incredibly painful. Sadly won't be buying another pair.

Was looking for a 0 drop medium cushion shoe for mixed trail and road runs. I never tried the first version. The perfect fit for my duck foot was found in the Torin 6 and I have been on the quest to find a trail shoe that fits as well as that road shoe. It surely is not to be found with that maker these days. The Pursuit 2 is a little less roomy in the toebox even compared to another Topo shoe I own, and it is particularly tight around the ball area of the forefoot. I like that the midfoot and heel are fairly snug but it could take off to a little wider earlier along the length of the foot for me. Overall, though, any discomfort in that area goes away after a few miles. Hopefully that will be the case as I put more miles on them. The stack height is just about right for me though a little too cush. I would appreciate if they had a little more energy return/response. Pretty close to what I hoped but just not quite there.

Got a pair of Pursuit1s in autumn 2023; generous toe box, one of the few shoes that feel comfortable to me. Tried on same size (11) Pursuit2 in January 2025 and the toe box--and sole-- is noticeably less wide. It's time for you to introduce a wide width!

I've tried many of Topo's shoes & love the brand. Fell in love with the Terraventure 2's originally, but wanted something more protective for bigger miles in the White Mountains. The Pursuit 1 turned out to be the answer -- just enough stack height & form to be protective without being sloppy/unstable on the technical. My only issue was some medial abrasion -- but manageable. The Pursuit 2 however is just too tight causing pressure on the lateral side of the foot. The upper on the previous version seems more rugged & protective as well. Not so important, but the original also looked way better. I understand the desire to create a "faster" shoe, but hoping the next iteration will be closer to the original.

I switched from Altra to Topo when I read they held up better. I bought a pair of the Pursuit 1.0s and they were incredible. Both the uppers, midsole, and outsole ALL held up incredibly well and I got 500 miles on the shoes. However, the Pursuit 2.0's uppers have held up far less well. While they're more breathable, the upper got a pretty wide hole at 200 miles that I had to repair. Over time, Altra's quality has declined and I'd hate to see the same thing happen to Topo.

90 miles in, and I'm out of tread with holes in the liner. Other than that, they are the best shoes ever. See the video for an honest review.

Been wearing topos for 5 years now, switched from altras and never looked back. My last pair was the pursuit 2. I started my hike in Patagonia and the first 2 days were amazing. By the third day, the heels started to dig and hurt my Achilles tendon really badly. Didn't have other option, so I finish the 100 miles really hurting. Never had that before. And noticed I m not the only one. Did you fix that for the 3? If you noticed and fixed, I will buy a pair, that's how much I love topos

I used the V1s on a couple long trails and loved them. The v2s are not as similar to the V1s as far as fit or comfort as I hoped. I understand a company wanting to "upgrade" a product, but when you have one that so many people already love then it's a risk for both of us. If you want to do a new version put it out along side the one everyone loves. If it's better then we'll gravitate to it. But when we don't have an option to go back to if it's not for us then we're going to go somewhere else.

am also in the camp of loved Altras, but shifted to Topos because of the Altras' soles wearing out way too fast. At first, loved my Topos, but within 40 miles, the uppers started wearing and fraying. This was a huge disappointment for me. Am considering my next shoe to be another Altra because of this. I REALLY wanted Topos to be my go-to, but this is a deal breaker! I'm not the only one who has commented on this issue. Would love to come back once this issue is fixed. Thank you Topo!

Pursuit 1s were good except for pressure points on my inner big toes but fit perfectly. Despite the negative reviews, I ordered the 2s and in my case, the fit was very sloppy vs. the 1s. I also have a pair of Terraventure 4s for their lower stack height and better trail feel and although tight across the mid-foot, they work well. Note in the photos that I could have tightened the Pursuit 2 laces much more but also, how much the three shoes differ and being told "Pursuit 2 didn't change much from the 1". Returned.

Topo.... You could have had a legendary shoe for YEARS. An absolute Altra killer, but version 2 of these aren't as wide, the mesh is a step back, and the colors are absolutely horrendous. Your designers need to STOP when they get a design right. If you have a good thing, don't change it. Make it right!

The Pursuit 1 was absolutely perfect. No issues whatsoever. It was a shoe, that if you gave word of mouth time to work, would have dominated the thru hiking world for years to come, like the Altra Lone peak of old did. Then, someone at Topo, in attempt to justify their own job title, changed it. Now, the pursuit 2 is slightly too narrow, the mesh is a step backwards in durability and letting in fine particles in, and those colors are atrocious.

Ok, Previous model of Pursuit was my most favorite pair of Hikink/running shoes ever. Not this one. 1. Green colour is horrible and new Red one doesn't help at all. I understand that is personal taste. But I would stick with Blue or Black. 2. Making that soft fabric area around ankle smaller was actually only one good move I like. Smaller chance to tear it apart. 3. But Fabric which is used on rest of shoe is downgrade. On pursuit one it was indestructible. Here is already tearing after few months.

I bought these in the morning the salesman said my feet will grow as the day progresses, but they didn't. I asked to try on the MTN 3's and the front of the shoes slid all over. I tried on Altimas but they were terrible along with Solomon shoes. I went to Hoka's store in Honolulu and found a great pair of shoes that worked for my narrow feet. I went back to Uloha outdoor store and asked for my money back because they didn't work out for my narrow feet. They refused and gave me a store credit card. About the Topo's, I found they were cushy and grippy but even after putting in a extra insoles they were to wide and wasn't anything I could think up to fix the issues. Now I'm stuck with the shoes because the card was invalid. They refused to fix the card and gave me the shoes that didn't work for me and I wasn't allowed to do anything even though I only wore them in the store just trying them on. Is there anything I can do to fix this and is there anything else I could try for something that will work for my narrow feet? I've never been treated so poorly in my life, I tried everything to get my money back and nothing.for Topo is there a way I can return them for a different model, I liked the cushion and the grippy soles but not how wide they are

The original topo pursuits are bullet proof, even after putting 500+ miles on them the uppers are still in good shape.. tread is worn down noticeably. The new pursuit is beat after 2-300 miles.. altra to had a noticeable down trend in quality as they got more popular, hopefully topo can course correct here and improve quality.

I have been a fan of Altra for years, most recently the Lone Peak 6. When I heard that Astra's was having durability issues, I was excited to try the Pursuit 2 for a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail. At mile 60 I noticed the heel lining was wearing out, which seems premature. When I returned for the trip I emailed Topo Athletic (with photos) of the shoes, explaining the premature wear. Their response was the wear was due to after market insoles and, as such, was not a warranty issue. I worn the same after market insoles (Superfeet Trailblazer) in my Altras and it was more than 200 miles before noticing any heel lining wear. I'll be going back to Altra for my next thru-hike.

Definitely a narrower toe box than the Pursuit 1 and my small toe on each foot is getting crushed. When I called and talked to a Topo representative, they insisted that the size of the toe box was the same as the 1, but admitted that material changes to the fabric on the upper might account for a narrower feel. Would have been nice to have known this before my purchase.

I have Pursuit V1 (from 4/2023 - quite destroyed by walking) and MTN Racer 3 (from 4/2024 - only for running) both size 13. I have already buy a new Pursuit 2, but it's narrower than older Pursuit or than MTN Racer 3. It's a little uncomfortable as it presses on the little finger. Please, as soon as possible make new version of Pursuit 3 with wide toebox as was in the first Pursuit.

I was excited to receive the new Pursuit 2 and get them out on the trail. Unfortunately, I was unable to even wear them due to the narrowed toe box compared to the Pursuit 1. The Pursuit 1 may have been my favorite shoe of all time, so I had high hopes for the new version. They looked like they would meet my high expectations out of the box. Little had changed other than esthetics, and the quality appeared comparable. These hopes were dashed as soon as I tried on the Pursuit 2 though. The toe box is at least a quarter inch narrower and pinches my forefoot and small toe. I am very disappointed. Altra did the same thing narrowing their toe boxes once they became popular. I am so disappointed that Topo is headed in that same direction.

I've worn topo shoes for about 15 years, primarily for long-distance hiking and backpacking including multiple thruhikes. I was recommended this shoe after my last pair, the MT-4, wore out and the redesign on that shoe was uncomfortable. While these shoes are comfortable, they somehow result in me repeatedly twisting my ankle on trails. Of course this isn't the sort of thing you can discover in a store. There's something wrong with the design, and I can't be rid of them fast enough.

Only have about 170 miles on these shoes , which I really like. But on my last trail run both insides blew out. Hoping it's not a quality issue, because I really like the brand!
