I have the Escalante Racers which I love, so I thought I would buy another pair of Altra's with more cushioning for walking. To my great disappointment, this model has a much narrower toebox which tapers in around the big toe rather than fanning out. Same size as my Racers. I have to return them.

Causes discomfort and pain. I had high hopes for these shoes in comparison to others usual normal shoes. This was my first experience with Altra. But unfortunatlly this model causes discomfort and pain. I decided to do a test fast walk at home on the treadmill. After 25 minutes, when I walked only 2 km, I felt discomfort in the pads of the big toe on my left and right feet. After that I decided to run the stairs. And everything was fine until I felt a sharp discomfort and almost pain in the pads of the big toe, especially on the left foot. I stopped training. After two hours the discomfort intensified. I don't know the exact reason for such discomfort, but unfortunately I can't wear them anymore and will have to return them. It's a pity that this is how my first experience with Altra turned out. These just aren't right for my foot. Have never had this issue with any other pair of shoes.

I had high hopes for these shoes in comparison to others I've tried in this same line. Unfortunately, upon putting them on I immediately was uncomfortable. The shoes are too narrow so you could visibly see where my foot protruded out. It's a thicker shoe so I felt very constricted. I still went for my walk/run to see if they'd give but unfortunately I only noticed that during any decline or instance where the top of your toe would touch the shoe- it almost feels like I was wearing steel toe boots because it's a hard surface on the inside by the front of your toe. Ouch! Very disappointing. Luckily as a benefit my feet are not sore after, but I will likely not be wearing them again. Overall these really hurt my feet everywhere for different reasons.. they are also not very cute. I could do without the blue combo.

Per recommendation, I got 1/2 size larger than usual. Worked great for Provision 8. Not these. These pinch my toes. Just discovered Provision 8 and loved them. Now I can't get them in my size. Record turnaround for a corporate wrecking of a go-to. Also, these are unattractive compared to the other shoes.They look AI. Returning these, looking elsewhere.

I've been a loyal Altra customer, but this model didn't feel like the usual Altra fit. Even after exchanging sizes, it still felt tight in the front and lacked the wide, light comfort I love about Altra. Could I request another exchange or a refund?

I had an issue with the size along with the color. Online, all of the pictures look black and gold. In person it is really a dark purple. Size was smaller than expected. Send back, got a refund, but the sale that was going on when I bought these, will not apply to getting a different pair. To me, that was a bummer. I need more of a neutral color. They have some now, but only with high cushion. This shoe has a lot of cushion, but was hoping it would be neutral enough.

The toe box in this style did ot have enough heigth- They pushed my toes downward. I have the ALTRA Women's Escalante 3 and really like how those fit but Experience Form did not have the roomy toe area for me.

In terms of the trainers, unfortunately none of the trainers I have purchased from Altra work for me. Either they are way too tight/narrow in the toe box (even though I size a full size up for trainers) or they are too big in the heel (when I went up a full size and a half!). In terms of the company as a whole, and the bigger issue I have with Altra is their return policy. Sure it's great that they let you run in the trainers and return them if they don't work out. That said, good luck getting your money back. It's been over 4 weeks and I have yet to see a refund on my credit card for all my orders. It's about $600 worth of trainers since I ordered different types and sizes to try on. The customer service is pretty poor, they just told me to keep waiting. And there's not a very clear return process. You just use the label in the box, but no way to process it online. The whole thing is less than ideal. At this point I'm contacting my credit card company to take this matter up with them as I'm sick of waiting. Don't care how good their trainers are for some, I would never order from here again.
