I have had issues finding sneakers that don't hurt since I walk around 7 miles a day. I used to buy ON but they changed the sneaker and I had to find a new one. Fleet Feet helped me and now I am a Altra user. So very happy

I love these shoe BUT I've only had them less than 2 months and the soles on bottom are coming off. Really disappointed

After wearing these a couple of times, I had to buy a second pair. These are the best shoes I've ever worn. I looked into many brands, and these were just perfect. I've been struggling with feet/bunion pain for a while and knew I needed a proper wide toe box and these feel amazing.

Lone Peaks have been my Altras for years. The Escalante4 is also a keeper. Both models are fine in my normal 5.5 size. The toes have plenty of room despite the palpably shallower toe box. I purchased replacement shoelaces as the ones which came with the shoes do not stay tied. Altra should take note that this could cause someone to trip. What is it with the shoelaces? Besides the inconvenience of needing to get replacements, slippery ones which do not hold a knot wind up in a landfill!
I'd also recommend:
Taos, Birkenstocks

i wear orthotic insoles, so the removable foot pad is a great plus for me. i love this color, i find it amazing how different Altra's are ... now own 4 ...they are all so unique in colors, fit and style. shocking really. no clue how to recommend which style for new folks wishing to buy them ... i enjoy the wide foot bed and style ... depends on what you are looking for. i just wish they had more colors. i am thinking i kind of prefer these to my other 3 styles of Altra ... enjoy the back part that wraps around your heel. need more colors for these as well.

I have worn Escalantes 1.5, Escalante Racers, Torin 4.5 Plushs, Solstice 2, and Rivera 4s, all in search of the perfect shoe post meniscus surgery. These Escalante 4s feel like the perfect balance for everyday use and short to medium runs for me. With a narrow foot, for the first time I tried the Women's B width, and love the fit. Thanks!

I use this shoe for running mainly and love the wider toe box. It's a comfortable fit. The stack is not too high at 24 mm - I also have the escalante racer which has a 22mm stack. I am trying to progress down to minimalist shoes so the escalante 4 are a good step in that transition. I would like to see more choices from Altra with a low cushioning/ stack especially in their trail shoes. But I love that they stay loyal to the wider toe box and zero drop

I walk 7 miles a day and always would wear On Cloud X because they are the only ones that didn't hurt my feet. I have tried Hoka, Nike, On, ASICS, Reebok to name a few and since On changed their Cloud X they hurt too. I love these - they are comfortable and don't hurt at all.

These are my new favorite work shoes! I am a nurse who works in a fast paced unit at a hospital for 12 hour shifts, let me tell you my feet don't hurt after. I've been searching for years for a shoe to help with my tired aching legs and feet. What makes these good for me is the slight negative heel drop , wide toe box and lower profile. I have tried many other expensive brands, some literally feel like I'm walking in wet sand because of the incredibly high profile and cushion. I wear mostly barefoot type shoes at home but I found I needed a little cushion at work due to concrete floors. Thanks for making a shoe that seems to be made for me! I will definitely repurchase.

I walk 2 to 4 miles daily. I love the Escalante 4 and plan to buy a second pair. My only complaint is the laces. The laces are very short and absolutely need to be double knotted or they will not stay tied. Who created shoe laces that will not stay tied. Annoying.

I love everything about this shoe - I feel it truly makes me a better runner! It's light and beyond comfortable. I wear it on long dog walks and running, and even in the gym sometimes for cross-training. It's the best!

The Escalate 4 are my 4th pair of Altra shoes; and by far, my favorite. They are lightweight with lots of room in the toe box.

My first pair of Escalante was a gift, and now I've got 3 pairs. I wear one pair for my morning walks, and alternate the other pairs for work and life. At work I'm on my feet a lot. I've tried Brooks, Saucony, Danskin and others that were supposed to be wide. But every time they were truly wide enough for my feet, they were also 2-4 sizes too long and more like clown shoes. For the first time in my 57 years I've got shoes that don't cram my toes together! I tell people about them all the time.

I wear these shoes for walks and playing volleyball and they are amazing. I have recommended them to many family members and friends. I have Morton's neuroma which has caused me a significant amount of pain over the last several years. These shoes, in conjunction with toe separators, have completely alleviated the pain in the balls of my feet.
