I’ve been using Altra as my running shoe for 10 years now. Love this series hasn’t changed much. Finally getting a new pair to break in and they feel amazing. This brand is great for anyone with wide toe box or pinched nerves that are aggravated when wearing slimmer running shoes. Love the color selections and finally was able to get a pair of black ones.

I have been wearing Altra Rivera style for years. I wanted a new pair, but Zappos had only white in that style, so I am trying Escalante 4, and I absolutely love them. Altra did away with the thick tongue which doesn't appear to be necessary. They fit like a glove, lots of toe room, and lots of new rubber to wear out on my city sidewalks. Very happy with Altra.

Escalante 3 was my first introduction to Altra and although I've tested some other models I keep coming back to the Escalante and I've found the 4 to be enjoyable as well. The gray colorway of this shoe is 10000/10 and I will be buying some backups in case it goes away.

With my toe problems, these are the only shoes I can wear right now. My daughter saw my Altra shoes, and laughed because she has 4 pairs at home. She loves to run, but only in Altra.

Love these shoes for zero drop but with a bit of padding. They're not super long-lasting, though. On my last pair, the foam at the heel began to break down, not sure why. But I've bought them several times and will continue to buy them.

Fell in love with the E1.5 in 2019 & was overjoyed last spring at new 4s release. E3's were too cushioned & I almost turned my back on Altras; E4s brought me back & I will buy a 2nd pair of the E4s soon.

So far so good! I'm easing into them after experiencing several foot problems with traditional foot wear. They are making my feet stronger. Please make in bone or off white!

I LOVE THE ORIGINAL ALTRA TOEBOX. I wanted to love the Torin, but it has a slightly narrower toebox. It turned out that on long runs or days on my feet that I'd eventually get some chafing with the Torin. So far, about 115 miles in on the Escalante, and I've had no issues!

I use these as my every day shoes actually. It took me a few days or may couple weeks to get used to them but they are a great shoe for foot health. My feet and legs feel stronger from the zero drop and it's a great weight and design too. Great shoe, running shoe. I feel more agile, too. I've also traveled on flights with these and my feet stay cool and comfortable.

These shoes are my favorite, and fit my feet like a glove. I have two bunions (one larger than the other), and the Original Footshape, combined with comfortable/flexible mesh actually works.

Love the Escalante shoes! I've been wearing them for years for both HIIT training at the gym and outdoor jogs, and they never disappoint. As soon as I put on my new pair, I felt like I was walking on clouds—the cushioning is just perfect for my workouts. I did notice that the Escalante 4s feel a bit narrower than my previous pair, but that might just be because my old ones had stretched over time. Either way, these remain my go-to shoes, and I’ll definitely keep buying them in the future!

The Altra One 2.5 was my favorite shoe ever for marathons and ever since it was discontinued (please bring it back someday!) I have searched in vain for a zero drop, light cushion shoe to wear for marathons and long training runs. I tried previous Escalante versions but they always felt too heavy and clunky. The Escalante 4s are a huge improvement! So much lighter and more comfortable; I actually enjoy training in them! Some other reviews questioned durability but I have put over 350 running miles on my first pair with no problem. I'm still not sure they're quite light enough for me to race a marathon in them (again please bring back the One 2.5!!!) but they are my go-to long run shoe now. Altra, please don't backtrack on the Escalante 4 improvements -- if anything, keep making these shoes lighter and more flexible!

Great shoe! Never disappoints. The new updates are more comfortable than the Escalante 2 and 3 versions. Great for the marathon distance and under. Like they advertise, it's like going back in time to the Escalante 1.5 version (I still have an old pair of 1.5s I use to lift weights in.)

This is my third pair of Escalates. I like it that they have a very wide tow box and a non-intrusive sole. They are getting better and better. Since I sometimes go on the beach, I like it these seem less permeable to sand. I just wish you made them in solid yellow or solid green. What's with the black tongue? Monochrome shoes are more minimalist. Also, why don't you do stretch laces so we don't have to tie bows, but can just slip the shoes on and off.

My injury occurred from pushing an overloaded wheelbarrow full of rocks. I had PT on my plantar fasciitis and suffered for over a year. I ended up bare foot for 6 months including most of my yard work, which can be dangerous. I went through several brands of sneakers and finally found a video about Plantar fasciitis, wide feet and the Escalante 4. I now own 3 pair of these, one for yard work, one for errands, one for the house. I definitely would recommend this shoe to everyone.

I wear these everyday for going grocery shopping, running errands, and everything. They are the only pair of shoes I have found that keep my arthritis in my lower back from hurting. My spinal doctor recommended them and was wearing a pair when I saw him.

I run/walk about 4 miles 4-5 times daily and the shoe is light, holds up and my feet feel great, I do use custom insole since I have funny feet but it's great

I have had issues finding sneakers that don't hurt since I walk around 7 miles a day. I used to buy ON but they changed the sneaker and I had to find a new one. Fleet Feet helped me and now I am a Altra user. So very happy
