This is my second Escalante and 3rd Altra pair of shoes. I really LOVE their wide toe box and their comfort when running or walking. They are very light and good looking shoes. I have a protruding ankle bone and i love their cutout for the comfort. Many of my friends also wear this brand now due to comfort and durability. I like to pair these shows with Darn Tough socks for extra comfort during my runs

So as a heavier guy(250lbs) it's hard to find running shoes that don't hurt my back or knees. These shoes are so comfortable and fit perfectly. If your looking for running shoes that work and fit well these are your shoes.

These shoes were a perfect fit for me! Width wise If you're like me and have a foot that's just a little too wide for regular but just a little too narrow for wide, these are for you. They have the perfect amount of cushion whether running or just taking a casual walk. Arch support was great. Plus they look good! I'd definitely buy again.

Love the flexible knit upper on these. The forefoot fits like an EE width, which is ideal for me. Good balance of cushion and support, maybe a touch on the soft side. The arch support is gentle, which is good for my flat feet. I use these as everyday shoes and for workouts and love them. SO grateful for the neutral color options, too. I have two minor quibbles. (1) The stretchy laces come untied unless you double knot them. (2) The tongue is floppy and narrow, so it can bunch up and leave gaps between the tongue and the eyelets. Those aren't big deals to me, so still 5 stars.

This shoes are super super comfortable. Just by the second when you put them on and tie it you feel it's going to be a great run or walk. When I first got them I was actually impressed how comfortable they were and how nice they look. They fit perfectly.

First impressions out of the box wow good looking shoe. As an avid athlete i almost didn't want to wear these outside. The black on white pops! Nice wide toe box as ive come to expect from Altra. Low drop makes it feel as if you are sitting back in your heels and at first seems odd but as soon as you start running in these shoes you notice right away the foot position it puts you in and how comfortable it actually is. Hands down would recommend as a a runner or as a daily shoe as it is very comfortable for both. I received this product for free in exchange for a review which in no way influenced my opinion as i am picky when it comes to shoes...just ask my wife..

The FootShape toe box is a game changer for me, giving my toes plenty of room to spread out, which greatly enhances my stability and comfort during runs. These running shoes have been some of the most comfortable I have ever worn. They are load of the ground with no rocking motion allowed me to go on an easy 5 mile run with my legs feeling good and my feet feeling good afterwards. The material that the shoes are made out of is durable and the shoes are super lightweight. Definitely go and get these if you want every day running shoe that you will love.

Thank you Altra for the free Escalante 4s to trial! These shoes are springy and FAST! I found they were most suited for shorter and quicker runs, but the wide toe box keeps you comfortable for longer uses. The cushioning is nice for a quick run or running errands, but I would not recommend this shoe for someone looking for an ultra comfort shoe for 12+ hrs a day. Overall, would definitely recommend for someone looking for a short to medium distance shoe for faster runs!

These are a great pair of shoes! The design is refreshing and have a modern look and feel to them. The wider toe design ensures maximum comfort for my toes, allowing them to move freely during running. The shoes are well suited for running, walking and speed walking, which I do a lot of daily.. I like how comfortable and supportive these shoes are for my feet, thanks for the cushion and midsole foams. Very nice in terms of how flexible these shoes are.. Overall, these are a pair of high quality shoes that really suit my lifestyle. I definitely recommend this product to others!

I love these shoes! They are so incredibly comfortable and let your feet really breathe and not feel cramped. The padding around the ankle is also great so you don't have any issues with chaffing or blistering.

I really liked them, I've been using them for 7 days, I go to the gym and I like to run outdoors and they are very comfortable and light. Before I used the Nike Free Metcon 4, but I feel more comfortable with the Escalante 4...

Throughout my life, I've always searched for shoes that have a bit more room in the front, since I have a wide forefoot. Compared to other running shoes I've owned, these shoes are lightweight and don't cause blistering in my toes after a long run. The material is high quality. I would certainly buy this product and recommend it to friends & family. The only downside is the off white color will get dirty easily.

The cushion is the most important part of the shoe imo. I am loving it

I really enjoy these shoes, very light comfortable and now my go to shoes to run with!!! I like the style and color on them as well. They have good structure as well without sacrificing the weight of them!

These fill the gap between my trail runners and road shoes perfectly. Shorter runs longer runs and everything in between (even lifting) . They look great but are loose in the heel a tiny bit

Black color is not black at all. More of a dark gray.

I've purchased multiple altra shoes, and this one is my favorite. HOWEVER the colorways for this shoe are mid to cringe. Only good options are their all white and all black ones

I really like the fit of these shoes and have purchased multiple pairs. I have commented before about the durability of the outsole. This is my latest pair after only 165 miles. I am sure that there is a tougher compound to use on the outsoles.
