Medium was too big and way too long for me. (I'm 5'3" 125lbs. The vest fits much better in a petite medium.

Good basic vest, well-constructed, nice color - fit was roomy, could accomodate a heavy sweater under the vest.

I bought the XL first and returned for L..which is still large, but doable. I like the weight of this vest, but it is boxy and longer than I like even with the tightening ability in the hem. The faux waist is also high, which is odd, since it's not really a waist, but a design detail to give the illusion of shape. if you are (blessed/cursed) with full breasts, LLB can be a challenging fit. I'd like to see a bit more fit in the Bean brand. Now after saying all this, this is a garment that will get plenty of wear.

Fabric is heavier and stiffer than I expected. With time I'm sure it will become as comfortable as the very old one it replaces.

Fits really well, arm holes aren't to big and the length is just right.

Ordered Women's Mountain Classic Fleece Vest navy color size Petite XS. Vest fit as expected, seems well constructed but fabric isn't as nice as my old LL Bean fleece vest. Also, would prefer discrete embroidered LL Bean logo in same color as vest like my old vest has rather than a prominent stitched logo on chest.

I wanted to replace this vest I purchased in navy blue years ago. I'm not going to, sadly. The vest I previously purchased has held up well and has served me in all regards. However, the colors now offered in this vest are not flattering (on anyone )so I'll look elsewhere. Come on L.L. Bean, can't you do a better job in color selections for customers?

Purchased a size small in teal, my regular size and it fit great. Purchased another in purple and it fit like an extra small so had to return. Perhaps it was sized incorrectly.

In t-shirts and most tops I wear a petite small. If I don't want a skin tight fit, I'll sometimes get a petite medium. So I ordered a PS in this vest and it was HUGE. I returned the vest for an exchange - the process was easy but very slow. Two weeks later I got a PXS and it fits fine. But I don't wear XS in any other piece of clothing, so I'd say these run large in terms of sizes.

I HAD thought that black is black,and with a 'regular' fleece, it would be black, flat black. but this is made w/ 100% polyester and it has a 'shinyness '[?] that results in it looking forest green. so i am regrettably returning it.

Excellent quality and I like the slightly fitted shape. I buy petite even though I am talk because I like the shorter length. But please please get rid of the ugly label on the front which makes it look like a service man's uniform. I remove these labels with a seam ripper but it is not easy to do.

I was surprised at how big the vest is. It flares out too much for me on the bottom half. I am 5'10" and weigh 145lbs. I ordered a women's medium and I returned it. I have strong broader shoulders, and upper back with a more narrow waist, but slightly wider than average hipsso I thought the medium would have been perfect. It WAS perfect on the top half but the bottom half was too darn big. It did NOT accentuate my true shape at all. If and when I order another one, I'll have to give the "small" a try in hopes that it won't be too tight on the upper half. Same thing happened with another vest in the women's department. This is the first time I've ordered from llbean tho. I ordered a small vest in the men's section and it fits perfectly for my body type.

I loved the fit of this vest. (PXL) Unfortunately, I have to return. I bought the mauve taupe because it looked to have a distinctly pinkish hue online. It is full on tan/taupe with maybe a pinkish undertone. Devices can have color variance but in the many, many LL Bean items I have ordered online, I have never experienced such a dramatic variation.

the size chart was way off. I ordered PL and had to exchange it for PM. the shoulders on the PM were way too wide and the armholes were enormous..

I do not like this vest because: (1) it is not black (it looks like charcoal) (2) it is not a warm feeling fleece (my 3 previous vests felt soft). Future purchases will NOT have recycled components. I am a 74 y.o. that looks for warmth, comfort, durability and minimal shrinking in my clothing from LLBean. Note: this vest was purchased last October, 2024.

I was looking for a fleece vest that fits my short torso. Don't normally order petite, but this worked. Not a fan of bold logos on clothing, but this will mostly be worn as a core layer inside my house that I tend to keep cool.

I have one I was gifted and find it is too short for me at 5'7" and also wouldn't it be nice if Beans brought in some fresh new colors? These are so drab and really been around for decades. When I open the closet I really have to look to see which clothes are mine and which are his.

my vest arrived today. when i put it on, i was shocked to see that the LLBean ad was so large and attention-getting. i won't want to wear it so will return it. i did look through the vests available here; the only one i see without the ad doesn't come in plus sizes, which i need as i am using a wheelchair full-time...disappointment number two.

Warm and well-made, I am overall happy with it... except for the color, which looked more pinkish mauve in the pictures, but is actually borderline beige, more dull and washed out in person. I guess I was hoping for a little more color.

Nice color and feel. Perfect for work where a sweater is too much.

I bought a Petite Medium, which is my usual size in LL Bean women's clothes. The vest was so large I could have fit a puffer jacket under it. The armholes were way too large, sagging down in an unattractive way. What has happened to standard sizing? Will return.

Vest Is warm and well-constructed, pockets large enough to hold iPhone securely, and zipper appears constructed to last. However, the color selection is uninteresting. The problem is that it adds undue bulk and is unflattering. This is the company's replacement for a much nicer version it offered 5 or so years ago: it had softer fleece and more graceful styling and fit.

This is a great vest but I wanted something a little less ballistic. No complaints about it at all,just was not what I expected

I had a very old wind breaker size M vest from Bean that finally gave out. I reordered a size M and it was huge. Sent it back for a S and honestly that's kind of big too. Kept it.

I wanted so much to like this - useful fleece, pretty lavender color, LL Bean billboard logo that other reviews said could be (laboriously) removed - but it was cut strangely loose and bunchy around waist and hips. I think because of the large loosely constructed pockets? The fit was fine at shoulders and bust. I was sad to return it - such a pretty color - but off it went. I'm 5'5'' and 130 lbs, ordered my usual Medium.
