I usually wear a size 8.5 M or W and the 8 in DM is a perfect fit. These boots look good and they are comfortable would need a few wear to totally break it in. I would have kept them if the toungue were not attached to the sides, and you cannot lift the flaps/tongue up and its pressing too hard onto your feet when you walk which makes them uncomfortable, makes them tight. Hard to put on and off.

These definitely run a bit small. The weather is beautiful and softer than the patent leather. I hope that means they will be easier to break in the worst thing about these is where the tongue attaches to the top of the shoe, inside. The seam protrudes, and is quite uncomfortable. I really hope this softens up as they break in.

I was so excited to finally get some docs on sale, but now I'm heartbroken. The bridge where the laces end is VERY low, making these shoes tight and uncomfortable. I wish they fit. They are beautiful.

It was way too narrow for me. The fit overall felt smaller than the jadon, even at the toes. It felt a size too small. While I want to order a size up, I feel it might still be narrow. Returning these unfortunately. The boots were super cute though.

The boot is really really cute. However, it was way too narrow and very hard.

I gave these to my daughter for Christmas 2021 and she's only worn them less about 6 weeks. The heel support inside the boot already broke down. Not impressed with the quality of this boot. Was able to get them replaced. Will see how the replacement holds up. If they hold up better, I will revise this review.

I really wanted to like these but they were very uncomfortable when I tried to walk in them.

These boots are heavy and not as comfortable as I thought for the price. I thought since they’re so expensive it would feel like walking on clouds, but no, that’s not the case. We’re creased after the first day use.

the size was good, felt true to size but there is no arch support.

Oh I much I wanted to love these!!! The style is so cool, timeless and hippy! But, oh my, the leather is thick and stiff and I was ready to bleed and suffer for about a month to break them in. But once I put them on… there was a huge stitching seam on the top inside, where the tongue is attached. It’s so rough, and sticking out so bad it’s like a sharp piece pressing the top of my foot. Who designed that???? So sad to return them.

Fit well, seemed like they would be comfortable without a lot of breaking in. Was just really worried with the material (black smooth) - looked oddly plastic and seemed like it would show every single scratch and scuff, and I'm hard on my shoes. Sadly returning, might consider another pair in a different material/color.

My high arch did not fit in this boot. Super nice boot, but my feet did not like them.

I brought my exact size and the tongue of the shoe hurt the top of my foot really bad. I think it’s the material however I could not walk for a long period of time they hurt my foot instantly!

I bought both the women's 7 and 8 in these boots, trying to find my size. The size 8 was fine except for the length (I'm a 7.5 in most shoes). I've always worn a UK 5/ US 7 in Docs, with room to spare. I thought the women's 7 in these boots would be great. The length & width were perfect, but the bottom seam of the lacing cut into the top of my foot so badly that I couldn't even take a step in these. The size 8 didn't have that issue, but the length was too much of a problem for me to keep them. I'll stick with the unisex UK 5 instead (I ordered those as well, but I returned them because Zappos sent me a used pair - so gross).

These are very comfortable but I am a true 9.5 . The size 9 was too small, I could feel my toes touch the end which I really don't like. I also ordered the 10 in this style which was a bit too big but I felt was a better fit. I really don't understand why such a popular company can't make shoes in half sizes...these are not cheap and supposed to last for years, you'd think they would make the right size available to the loyal customers. By the way- the style Sinclair runs bigger, I think I could have gone with the 9 but those are EXTREMELY heavy and uncomfortable and also rub really badly at the top of the zipper so I returned those as well.

Review update: the size seven stretched too much and is now too big even with my orthotics...but the six hurt so much with my orthotics that I don’t think I would’ve made it through the breaking in period! I think these just aren’t for me. Thank you for your amazing return policy, Zappos!

Excited when my Dr. Martens arrive but my feet were swimming in them! They may be more than a full size too big. I'm concerned they will make my feet look big no matter what so sending them back. I'm picky about what I buy so even though they are a luscious dark cherry red, I'm going to pass.

This is not a boot for a person with a high instep. It had to be returned because it was smooshing the top of my daughter's foot.

Although I have purchased Dr Martens before and I have been very satisfied, this particular 1460W was painful to wear. There is a seam or sewn area above the top toe area that digs into the foot so hard that it is literally impossible to wear. Two different people in the family who wear this size tried the shoes on and both were unable to wear them.

I'm not sure how I feel about these. The leather is of lower quality compared to other leather boots I own - thin, almost plastic feeling. Construction seems ok. There's a bit of stitching issues around with the yellow threading but it's not too bad compared to the 1460s I bought for my husband (which we returned). The styling, however, is more slimmer since these are the women's version which I like. Not sure if I'll be keeping these.

I wanted to love these boots, and I love the look of them-but after trying the size 8 women's and finding them to be too big I got the 7. I just don't have the confidence that they will stretch out enough to not be painful in the toe area and the width-I can't wait 3-6 weeks to break them in without the chance to return them if they don't :(

lot shinier than I had hoped/expected - this looks too much like patent leather which I wasn't really into. I'd love this color if they made it in a more matte leather!

To be honest I didn't love the material of these shoes. I had Docs back in the 90's (when everyone did) and I was excited to get them again, especially in purple! But the material on the outside felt very cheap to me, almost like plastic. For almost $150 I'd like them to feel well-made. They're going back.

The style is cool and the fit is good. However the tongue kept sliding down and to the side making it uncomfortable when walking. You have to tie the boot tight for the tongue not to slide.
